Chapter 219 Going to the Hospital

Gu Chijin had been observing her expression and reacted quickly the first second Shi Qi showed any abnormality.

"What's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"

Seeing her rushing into the bathroom with her mouth covered, Gu Chijin put down his chopsticks and immediately chased after her.

Bai Xiaohua and Jiang Ling also became nervous and looked at each other with their husbands, not knowing what was going on.

Did I eat something bad?

Bai Xiaohua looked at the large table of dishes and frowned deeply:

"Didn't the girl eat any special food today?

Why do you feel like vomiting?

After thinking for a long time, Bai Xiaohua couldn't figure out what was wrong with the food everyone ate today.

The noodles were just bought a few days ago, and the eggs were also sent by my mother's family.

The cabbages are the freshest, freshly picked from the ground.

They were busy running in and out making food today, so Shi Mei didn't get involved in anything, right?

Jiang Ling also became nervous, remembering a few days ago when a military wife in the military family compound opened her quilt at night and was exposed to a cold breeze. The next day she woke up vomiting and having diarrhea, and she was almost dehydrated. She hesitated and said:

"Could it be that Sister Shi was too tired these past two days and caught a cold at night?"

Jiang Chen and Ji Zhang put down their chopsticks and said nothing, but the expressions on their faces and the glances towards the bathroom showed their concern.

This year, we have been through so much together.

The relationship between the three families has long since evolved from comrades-in-arms to relatives. If someone in one family is unwell, the other two families will also be concerned.

Shi Qi rushed into the bathroom, pressed his chest and vomited twice.

But after vomiting for a long time, nothing came out.

Gu Chijin hurried in, patted her on the back, and said anxiously:

"Let's go to the hospital. You look a little serious."

Shiqi straightened up and waved his hand:

"No, no, my chest just felt tight, but it's gone now.

Maybe it's something I ate today that got me confused. It's okay.

My sister-in-law and the others are waiting outside. If I go to the hospital now, how can I eat the New Year's Eve dinner?"

He rushed into the toilet and vomited. Although he didn't vomit anything, Shi Qizhen felt that the nausea in his chest had dissipated a lot.

Today is New Year's Eve, and she doesn't want to go to the hospital unless there is something serious.

Gu Chijin's brows were tightly knitted together. He carefully observed Shi Qi's expression, and when he saw her face gradually turn red, he nodded.

"Then take care of yourself. If you feel uncomfortable again later, we must go to the hospital."

The New Year’s Eve dinner is important, but time is more important.

If anything happens to her, his New Year's Eve dinner will never be enjoyable for the rest of his life.

Shi Qi nodded immediately, recovered from the shock, and pushed Gu Chijin out of the bathroom.

As soon as he went out, Shi Qi saw the four adults at the dinner table looking at him in unison.

When they saw her, they all looked concerned.

Shiqi felt warm in his heart and explained with a smile:

"It's okay, maybe something I ate got cold.

I feel much better now.

Let’s continue eating.”

Bai Xiaohua breathed a sigh of relief, looked at her gentle features, and patted his chest:

"I'm glad you're okay. It's New Year's Eve these few days, and we've prepared a lot of food at home. You have to be careful not to upset your stomach."

Shi Qi nodded, sat down at the table, and picked up his chopsticks again:

"Everyone, hurry up and eat. If you delay any longer, the food will get cold."

Seeing her complexion return to normal, Jiang Ling breathed a sigh of relief and followed her words to eat again.

After a few words, the atmosphere at the dinner table became lively again.

Bai Xiaohua picked out a few hot ribs for the two children and poured a few spoonfuls of hot soup before turning to talk to Shi Qi.

Gu Chijin dealt with the chattering Jiang Chen in a disjointed manner, his eyes always fixed on Shi Qi.

Seeing her eating meat and vegetables as usual, Gu Chijin felt relieved.

Halfway through the New Year's Eve dinner, Shi Qi was almost full.

Except for the fish, she tried all the other dishes.

Seeing that she had no vomiting reaction, she felt relieved and thought that it was probably because she was too tired in the past few days and had some minor health problems.

I plan to observe for a few days and then go for a check-up on the first day of the new year after the 30th.

"Mom, mom, I want to eat fish, I want to eat fish."

Jiang Ling and Bai Xiaohua were talking when Jiang Haoyun suddenly pointed at the braised fish on the table and started shouting.

Shi Qi was closest to the fish. He stretched out his arm to take Jiang Haoyun's small bowl, a gentle smile on his face.

"Come, let me pick it up for you. Which piece do you want to eat?"

Seeing Shi Qi was fishing, Bai Xiaohua ignored his son and continued to tell Jiang Ling about the latest gossip in the military family compound.

After Shi Qi finished catching the fish and sat back, Bai Xiaohua looked at her and smiled:

"Sister Shi, did you know that Wang Lihua from our military family compound was beaten by her husband a month ago?

The couple is getting a divorce.”

Shiqi was stunned. It was the first time he heard this:

"I don't know. What happened? Why did Zhang Jiandong hit her?"

Bai Xiaohua shouted, looked at the other men at the table, and lowered his voice:

"I don't know either, but I heard from a few close military wives that they saw Wang Lihua flirting with a man from the next village.

Zhang Jiandong came back and saw them, and beat up both her and the man.

Shi Qi was shocked and turned to look at Jiang Ling:

“With the man from the next village?

Do we know each other?

Bai Xiaohua shook his head:

"I don't know him. I only heard from other military wives that the man's surname seemed to be Chen."

Jiang Ling became interested:

"That man, I saw him from a distance. He was thin and not very good-looking, with shifty eyes. It was obvious at first glance that he was not a good person."

When Shi Qi heard the name Chen, he felt inexplicably guilty. He turned his head to glance at Gu Chijin, and seeing that he looked calm, he turned back as if nothing had happened and coughed:
