Gu Chijin grabbed Shi Qi's rebellious hand and forcefully hugged him into his arms before he slowly said:
"Wife, it's enough for us to have each other.
There’s no need to bother us with children.”
Shi Qi rolled her eyes, and immediately realized that Gu Chijin was just trying to fool her. She pinched the man's soft flesh on his waist and threatened in a low voice:
"If you don't behave yourself, I'll punish you by not letting you have sex for a month."
This was a severe punishment. Half a year after he came back, Gu Chijin once made Shi Qi so angry that he was not allowed to enter the bedroom for a whole week.
He was miserable. Now, after hearing what Shi Qi said, Gu Chijin's face froze. After a long while, he frowned and uttered his thoughts:
"What I mean is, Nian Nian is well-behaved and cute. We can just have this one child. There's no need for you to go through the trouble of having another one."
Thinking of all the hardships Shi Qi went through during her pregnancy, Gu Chijin felt heartbroken:
“You missed Nian and you gave birth to Nian Nian. I saw it all.
Giving birth is too risky, I don't want you to take the risk again.
Now, I am very content to have you and Nian Nian by my side.
So, I think, after a while, you can just go get a vasectomy and you'll suffer less."
After hearing what Gu Chijin said, Shi Qi was stunned.
I stared at Gu Chijin blankly for a long while before I realized that what he said was all from the heart.
Just because he saw her pregnant and giving birth, he was afraid to let her take risks. That's how much Gu Chijin loves her.
With a sudden pain in his heart, Shi Qi burst into tears. He threw himself into Gu Chijin's arms and cursed angrily:
"You fool, how could you be so stupid?"
