Chapter 84: Shot

The car body suddenly slid forward two meters, and the rescue rope was instantly pulled straight, making a crackling sound as it could not bear the weight.

Gu Chijin steadied himself and did not continue to stand up.

Zhang Quan and Xiao Zhao's exclamations were heard from outside the car.

"The car is going off the cliff!"

The car body was still tilting, and the force on the rope was getting heavier and heavier. Gu Chijin looked down, his face darkened, and he made a quick decision and jumped.

"Captain Gu, be careful."

Just as Gu Chijin jumped out of the military vehicle, there was a snapping sound from the rear of the vehicle and the rope suddenly broke.

The military vehicle, like the other car, crashed into the cliff with a loud bang.

Gu Chijin jumped with all his might and accurately grabbed the tree trunk growing diagonally in the middle of the cliff at the foot of the high cliff.

Hanging on the tree, he kicked his long legs, swung over and stepped onto the tree.

Xiao Zhao and Zhang Quan were watching from above with fear and trepidation, but when they saw Gu Chijin standing steadily on the tree, they finally felt relieved.

"Captain Gu, wait a moment. I'll go get the rope."

The raindrops were heavy. Zhang Quan wiped the rain off his face and ran to collect the rope.

Xiao Zhao knelt on the edge of the cliff, staring at Gu Chijin's face which was becoming increasingly paler, his heart in his throat again.

"Here it comes, here it comes, here comes the rope."

Zhang Quan held the intact half of the rope, found a big tree to tie it to, and threw the other end under Gu Chijin in the rain.

Grabbing the rope, Gu Chijin wrapped it around his waist. With his arms bulging with veins, he grabbed the rope and wrapped it around two or three times, then climbed up the mountain wall.

Xiao Zhao threw the information aside and helped pull the rope with Zhang Quan.

It was four or five meters away, and Gu Chijin climbed up in more than a minute.

The three of them found a big tree to shelter from the rain. Gu Chijin held his shoulders, his dark eyes bright:

"Rest for two minutes, then start down the mountain immediately."

The three men's communication tools were in the military vehicle, which was destroyed. The three men could not contact the troops and had to walk down the mountain.

Xiao Zhao nodded, breathing heavily.

Zhang Quan discovered that Gu Chijin's shoulder was bleeding.

"Captain Gu, are you injured?!"

Zhang Quan stood up and approached Gu Chijin:

"Captain, have you been shot?"

Just now, Gu Chijin drove his car to hit that car. His driving position was the most dangerous. Even if he succeeded in knocking them off the cliff, he would be injured and shot.

Gu Chijin nodded, glanced at his shoulder, and turned to look at Xiao Zhao:

"Come here and tear off a piece of clothes and tie it around my shoulders."

After jumping out of the car, he hung on the tree with his shoulders and climbed up the cliff holding the rope.

After the intense exercise, the blood flowed even more violently from the bullet wound on the shoulder.

His entire left hand now feels a little weak.

Xiao Zhao ran over and hurriedly tore off his clothes to tie Gu Chijin's shoulders.

Seeing that his movements were clumsy and slow, Zhang Quan pushed him aside and did it himself.

Zhang Quan wrapped the torn shirt around Gu Chijin's shoulders several times and tied it tightly, pressing on the wound.

Gu Chijin's brows twitched, and he couldn't help but turn his head:

"That's about right."

Zhang Quan thought he had hurt him by using too much force, and quickly explained:

"The wound needs to be tied tightly to stop the bleeding.

Captain Gu, please be patient."

Gu Chijin knew of course. After Zhang Quan was bandaged, he stood up and looked towards the dark sky:

"Go down the mountain as fast as you can."

Xiao Zhao and Zhang Quan followed Gu Chijin, and the three of them hurried down the mountain.

Shi Qi was busy for two or three hours and felt a tightness in his chest and a throbbing pain somewhere in his shoulder.

Thinking he had heatstroke, Shi Qi stopped what he was doing and poured himself a glass of boiled water.

Even after drinking two or three glasses of water, the panic still persisted.

She suddenly had a bad feeling.

Nothing will happen to Gu Chijin, right?

Walking to the door and looking at the clear sky, Shiqi tightened his grip on the cup.

Jiang Ling came in after buying lunch. Seeing Shi Qi's pale face, she put down her lunch box and came to look at her:

"Sister Shi, are you feeling unwell?

Look at your face, it's as white as the paper you drew on."

Shi Qi lowered his head and drank a mouthful of water, clutching his chest:

"I don't know what's going on. My chest feels stuffy and my shoulders hurt."

Jiang Ling became nervous:

"Could it be that you've been too busy these past two days and have ruined your health?"

Shiqi shook his head:

"Probably not."

Just now, the original owner was even weaker than this, and she had never felt chest tightness or shortness of breath before.

This situation happened today, and it is likely that something happened.

Here, the only person involved with her is Gu Chijin.

It is very likely that something unexpected happened on his side.

The more he thought about it, the more worried he became. Shi Qi put down his water cup and didn't even want to eat lunch.

"Sister-in-law, you stay here and look after the store. I'm going to the army to look for Brother Jiang."

Seeing her about to leave, Jiang Ling hurriedly stopped her:

"Hey, sister Shi, at least you ate your meal.

If you don’t eat, you’ll feel uncomfortable and faint.”

If something happened to Shiqi on the way, it would be terrible.

Shiqi was in no mood to eat:

"It's okay, I'll be back soon."

When I walked out of the clothing store, the sun was scorching outside.

Shi Qi bought a hat at the Qianmen intersection and walked quickly towards the army.

Jiang Chen was having lunch in the army when someone came in and told him that Captain Gu's family had arrived and was waiting for him at the army gate.

Jiang Chen didn't even have time to drink the soup in the bowl. He ran out as soon as he heard the news.

Shiqi had never been to the army.

She came here to find me, something must have happened.

Running to the entrance of the army, Jiang Chen saw Shi Qi standing under the shade of a tree in the scorching sun.

She was still wearing the cheongsam she wore this morning.

Standing under the tree, it is so fresh and beautiful that it catches the eye.

"Captain Jiang, that comrade claimed to be Captain Gu's relative, but I didn't know her, so I didn't let her in.
