Chapter 9 Suspicion

Ember?!

This is too intimate.

Jiang Ling was stunned when Shi Qi addressed Gu Chijin.

I hadn’t realized before that Sister Shiqi loved Captain Gu so deeply.

After sighing for a while, Jiang Ling watched Shi Qi walk out the door, suddenly remembered something, and ran into the kitchen.

He caught up with Tokisu while holding a large pumpkin.

"Sister Shi, this is the pumpkin I just picked today. It's a little old, but it's still fresh.

Take it home and try it."

Shi Qi didn't refuse, and took the pumpkin readily, saying thank you: "Thank you very much, sister-in-law. I will come to play with you again tomorrow."

"Okay, okay, sister-in-law will wait."

Jiang Ling nodded hurriedly, then remembered that there was mung bean porridge cooking in the pot. She said hello to Shi Qi and ran back quickly.

Shi Qi walked in holding the pumpkin, glanced at the half-open door, and put the pumpkin into the kitchen.

When I came out of the kitchen again, I saw Gu Chijin, a tall and strong man, standing at the door, and it seemed that he was going to the bathroom.

Pursing his lips, Shi Qi looked at his injured leg and asked, "Do you need help?"

Gu Chijin's expression was still not good, but he still replied stiffly: "No need."

Shi Qi nodded, his eyes darting across his handsome face before continuing, "What do you want for dinner? I'll make it for you."

Thinking of the meat, rice and noodles he bought today, Shi Qi added.

"Today I used up my food and meat coupons so I can make dumplings for you."

Originally, Shi Qi wanted to buy some pork ribs or pig's trotters to make soup for him.

But she went there late and all of them were sold out, so she bought pork belly and lean meat.

Gu Chijin looked at her in surprise, with emotions in his eyes that Shi Qi couldn't understand.

"casual."

Shi Qi wanted to see Gu Chijin's expression clearly, but saw the man turn around with his long legs and walk slowly towards the toilet.

Since others didn't appreciate it, Shi Qi didn't bother to show off and turned back to the kitchen to busy himself.

It was getting dark, and she had to prepare dinner quickly, otherwise it would be a waste of kerosene.

Entering the kitchen, Shi Qi scooped an appropriate amount of flour into a basin with a small bowl, rolled up his sleeves, added water and started kneading the dough.

After kneading the dough, Shi Qi covered it with a clean white cloth and put it aside, then turned around to prepare the meat filling.

Wash the fresh leeks you bought, chop them into small pieces with a knife, put them in a large white bowl and set aside later.

Next, slice the pork you bought and start chopping the meat while standing.

Gu Chijin came out of the bathroom and heard the clanging noises in the kitchen. A hint of annoyance flashed in his eyes.

The wound on his leg has been painful and itchy these days, and Gu Chijin's mood has been extremely unstable.

In this strange home, every movement could easily get on his nerves and make him feel upset.

Shi Qi, who was in the kitchen, saw no impatience on Gu Chijin's face.

At this moment, she was concentrating on mixing the chopped meat with leeks.

I also took four eggs from the cupboard, beat them into the meat filling, and mixed them together with salt.

Considering that Gu Chijin was injured and could not eat spicy and irritating foods, Shi Qi did not add any seasonings such as garlic and chili peppers.

After mixing the meat filling, Shi Qi rolled out the dumpling wrappers and started making dumplings. He made fifty dumplings in one go before stopping.

In modern times, Shiqi often makes dumplings himself and is very skilled at it.

If the dumpling wrappers hadn't been rolled unevenly, her dumplings would have looked good enough to be sold in a restaurant.

After the dumplings were wrapped, Shiqi started to boil water to cook them.

As soon as the water boiled, Shiqi was busy preparing the dipping sauce for the dumplings.

Shiqi prepared two dipping sauces.

One portion is just vinegar.

The other portion was a dipping sauce made by Shiqi according to his own taste.

She found some dried chilies in the kitchen, roasted them on the fire, smashed some garlic, chopped some green onions, poured hot oil on them, and finally poured soy sauce on them, stirred them with chopsticks, and tasted them.

Well, it tastes okay.

Nodding, Shi Qi saw that the water in the pot was boiling, so he turned to put the dumplings in.

Estimating Gu Chijin's appetite, Shi Qi directly ordered thirty-five dumplings, ten for her and twenty-five for Gu Chijin.

It wasn't Shi Qikou. The dumplings she made were big and plump, as swollen as gold ingots. Twenty-five of them were enough for a strong man like Gu Chijin to eat.

I made too much and couldn’t finish it. I don’t have a refrigerator at home, so it would go bad and be wasted.

Steam was rising from the pot, and sweat was beating down Shi Qi's forehead. He missed modern air conditioners and refrigerators so much.

Her ice watermelon, ice milk tea, ice cola, her...

Forget it, I won’t say anymore. She’ll want to cry if I say more.

Shi Qi sighed, waited until the dumplings floated up, and then poured another bowl of cold water on them.

After three rises and three floats, the dumplings were just cooked. Shi Qi scooped them up with a large slotted spoon and put them into two bowls, one large and one small.

Shi Qi cooked quickly, and when the dumplings were served on the table, there was still a ray of orange light in the sky.

After shouting towards Gu Chijin's door, Shi Qi turned back to the kitchen to get the dipping sauce.

Gu Chijin walked out of the room and saw two bowls of dumplings on the table, his eyes gloomy.

This was the second meal he had seen her cook so far.

It seems, not bad.

The dumplings on the plate were round. Gu Chijin could tell at a glance that Shi Qi had put a lot of stuffing in. After several of them were cooked, the meat filling almost burst through the dumpling skin.

Thinking about what she said just now about going to the city to buy meat today, Gu Chijin turned his eyes and looked towards the kitchen door.

Shi Qi came out with two bowls of dipping sauce and saw Gu Chi Jin standing at the door. He said:

"Come and eat while it's hot."

Placing two bowls of dipping sauce on the table, Shi Qi pushed the bowl with only vinegar towards Gu Chijin:

"You have an injury on your leg and can't eat chili peppers, so I only poured vinegar. Do you want to change it?"

"Need not."

Gu Chijin sat down at the table, looking at the full bowl of dumplings in front of him, then glanced at the much smaller bowl in front of Shi Qi and frowned: "This is enough for you?"

In the past few days, this woman has been eating every meal with a big bowl full of food.

She only ate this much dumplings today. Was she doing this just to show him so he would feel pity for her?

Humph, just now she was swearing that she would divorce him soon, but now she is acting like this, deliberately trying to make him feel guilty and soft-hearted.

A two-faced woman is really insidious.

If he hadn't been so strong-willed, he would have been deceived by this hypocritical woman.

Gu Chijin frowned even tighter, a chill spreading all over his body:

"Eat if you want. I won't deduct a bite from you. You don't have to pretend to be doing something good for me just to please me. It only makes me feel sick."

Shi Qi looked at the serious-faced man opposite him, then lowered his head to look at the two bowls on the table. He really wanted to throw the dumplings inside at his head.

This man is so vicious and cruel, it really drives people crazy.

"Gu Chijin, does your unit have a military doctor?"

After saying this out of the blue, Shi Qi lowered his head to eat dumplings and ignored him.

Gu Chijin looked at her in bewilderment, and it took him a while to realize that this woman was saying that he was sick? ???

Gu Chijin was furious and glared at Shi Qi for several times before picking up his chopsticks to eat.

During the meal, the two were as quiet as chickens.

Apart from the sound of chopsticks hitting the bowl, there was no conversation between the two.

Halfway through the meal, confusion grew in Gu Chijin's eyes. How come this woman became so polite?

Not only in the morning, but now he eats very quietly, taking only two or three bites to finish a dumpling, which is a far cry from the way he wolfed down his food a few days ago.

Carefully observing Shi Qi's movements, Gu Chijin's brows furrowed as doubts began to arise in his heart.
