"There's a lot of green grass lately, so it's good to eat. Oh, by the way," Ying Han said, and quickly took out a few dates from his pocket and gave them to Li Guihua. "I picked these from the date tree on the mountain. Let me give you some."
Li Guihua happily took it and tasted it. "It's so sweet. When did the fruits from that old jujube tree become so sweet? They should be gone by now." Everyone in the village knew that there was a jujube tree there and they were all staring at it.
"The rest are on top. I can't climb trees, so I picked these up from the ground a few days ago."
"Yeah, not bad. Oh, by the way, I'm going to town tomorrow, do you want to come?"
"OK."
"Okay, I'll call you tomorrow."
"Um."
Ying Han thought that she could sell some fruits in town tomorrow to save more money and find a way to go back to visit her relatives during the New Year.
In the evening, Ying Han entered the space and looked at the fruit trees, all of which were full of fruits.
These should sell for a few bucks.
Ying Han didn't observe the fruit for too long. He turned aside and started pounding rice.
I pound dozens of kilograms of rice every day and save some to sell when I have time.
There was also millet. She had finally found a few grains that had not been shelled. She soaked them in water and planted those that had sprouted. Now they are almost ripe.
Ying Han stayed in there for an unknown amount of time and was so tired that he fell asleep on the rocking chair in the space.
The next day, I came out only after hearing Aunt Pei's voice.
When Li Guihua came to call her, she had already drunk a bowl of milk and fed the sheep.
Li Guihua came to town today just to buy a few feet of cloth to make herself a new dress.
She had no chance to be alone.
Li Guihua held up a piece of light blue checkered fabric for men and asked Ying Han, "Ying Zhiqing, what do you think of this color?"
Ying Han took a look and said, "This one isn't suitable for you. This one is suitable for gay men."
"Is someone like Liu Zhiqing suitable?"
Ying Han paused for a moment before reacting, and quickly nodded, "Yeah, it's very suitable."
Li Guihua's face immediately lit up with joy, and she asked the salesperson to buy her a few feet longer, but she didn't buy it herself.
Ying Han felt that Li Guihua should be making clothes for Liu Changfeng.
But Li Guihua didn't say anything, and she didn't meddle in other people's business.
Seeing that I had no chance to wander around alone, I had to give up and bought some vegetable seeds. I planned to plant some vegetables behind the shed so that I wouldn’t have to eat wild vegetables every day.
There were many varieties of vegetables, such as Chinese cabbage, bitter greens, prickly ash, fennel seedlings, Chinese cabbage, and radish. Ying Han wanted to buy some leek seeds, but unfortunately they were out of stock.
Li Guihua said, "That thing prints very quickly. I have it at home. I'll dig some roots for you when I get home, and you can plant them."
"Thank you, Sister Guihua."
"You're welcome, I have some green onions at home, I'll get some for you when the time comes."
Li Guihua was very enthusiastic and did not hate Ying Han because of the red marks on her face.
I rode the village donkey cart back to the village. As soon as I arrived at the village entrance, I saw a postman and asked, "Is Zhu Liang from your village?"
"Zhu Liang? Ah Liang from Zhu Laoer's family, right? Yes, yes, he's from our village."
"Aliang hasn't come home in days. His mother has been searching for him for days and can't find him. She's frantic at home. Where did this child go? Why did he send a letter home?"
When the postman heard that Zhu Liang was from this village, he rode his bike directly to the village branch.
Ying Han's heart suddenly tightened. He wondered what was going on with this Zhu Liang.
She always thought that after Zhu Liang was beaten by the older brother, he was directly thrown into the hospital or somewhere in town.
Now that Zhu Liang has sent back a letter, does it mean that his gunshot wound has healed and he wants his family to pick him up?
Ying Han returned to the shed nervously. Seeing Aunt Pei, he quickly cheered up and took a few packets of vegetable seeds from the basket. "Aunt Pei, I went to town today and bought some vegetable seeds, but I don't know how to plant them."
When Aunt Pei heard about vegetable seeds, she was overjoyed.
I took a few people around the shed and decided to plant it behind it.
No one goes there, and there happens to be a small patch of weeds, so the sunlight can shine through there.
After selecting the vegetable plot, a few people quickly cleaned up the small piece, and Teacher Yan and Grandpa Liang dug up the land.
Aunt Pei said to soak the seeds first and plant them tomorrow.
Before dinner, Li Guihua brought her some leek roots and a handful of spring onions. "Ying Zhiqing, share these spring onions. You can grow two more in a while."
"Thank you, Sister Guihua." Ying Han could only say thank you gratefully now.
I thought that when I see her again someday, I will give her more fruits.
Li Guihua didn't stay here for too long. After all, no one was allowed to have too much contact with the people in the shed.
After Li Guihua left, Grandpa Liang called her over and gave Ying Han the rabbit skin he had hidden. "It's a good thing to make friends in the village. Give this to someone as a gift someday."
"Grandpa Liang, no need. I gave her all the wild fruits I picked in the mountains last time."
"No one is interested in your wild fruits. Take them." Teacher Yan sighed and said, "Your Aunt Pei and I don't have much to give. Hanhan, our life in the shed has improved a lot since you came here. Especially this vegetable garden, it has solved a big problem for us."
"Teacher Yan, I'm the one who should be most grateful. If it weren't for you, I don't know how I would live. No one in the educated youth team likes me."
"Okay, okay, stop saying things that ruin the atmosphere. They sent us green onions and leeks. Let's plant them quickly. Leeks are good. I'll save more eggs in the future so we can eat dumplings every day." Aunt Pei interrupted them with a smile.
"Yes, yes, I eat dumplings every day. If you want to eat meat, I will go to the rabbit hive another day." Grandpa Liang drooled at the thought of dumplings.
Watching them planting chive roots, he smiled and said, "I'll borrow a few cloves of garlic someday and plant them too. I can eat both the garlic sprouts and the garlic shoots."
Ying Han asked curiously, "Grandpa Liang, are you in the village? Is there anyone who speaks to you?"
"There weren't many people. There was an old man in the village who often picked up cow dung along the way. He was able to talk to me for a few minutes, but otherwise he didn't care about me."
Teacher Yan sighed and said, "It's great to have someone who can talk to me."
Ying Han was not happy about having a small vegetable garden, mainly because of Zhu Liang. He didn't know what was going on.
These days, when Yinghan was herding sheep, he paid special attention to the news in the village.
Today, Ying Han met Li Guihua again, so he took out the apples and lychees that he had prepared for two days from the bamboo basket.
"Sister Guihua, this is it." Ying Han waved to Li Guihua from a distance.
When Li Guihua saw that it was her, she greeted her family and ran over.
"What's wrong, Ying Zhiqing?"
"Go get your basket."
Li Guihua was surprised and took down the bamboo basket behind her. She was going to go into the mountains with her sister-in-law to pick some wild vegetables and mushrooms today. She had to plant the crops in a few days and was too busy to have time. "What's wrong?"
Ying Han smiled and looked around, then took out a few bunches of lychees and five or six apples from his bamboo basket.
