Chapter 118 Out of Control?

Chapter 118 Out of Control

Xin Que looked at the stall owner in front of her who had suddenly changed his expression and put down the iron plate of fried food in her hand without expression.

"Xin Que?" The stall owner laughed heartily. "Long time no see. How's it going with the Huo family?"

"Back when we huddled together for warmth at the auction..."

"Crash—" Xin Que overturned the stall cart.

The diners' route was not affected at all. They chatted and laughed with their companions as they stepped over the scattered plates and fried skewers on the ground and walked forward.

It was as if they hadn't seen anything at all.

The stall owner screamed and then dodged the hot oil being poured on her.

"Don't try to disgust me with her face." Xin Que stepped over the overturned stall, drew the military knife from her waistband, and swiftly slashed the imposter's neck.

The woman's expression was contorted as she clutched her bleeding neck and collapsed to the ground.

She twitched twice, her eyes filled with resentment as she stared intently in Xin Que's direction, her lips moving as if she wanted to say something.

Xin Que walked over, and just as the woman thought he was being sentimental, he roughly slapped an iron plate onto her face.

Then, Xin Que, with an undisguised murderous intent, walked into the surging crowd behind her.

"Xin Que?" The young man dressed in the uniform of a death squad stood by the stall. Seeing his old friend come over, he immediately greeted her with a smile, "We haven't seen each other since you were transferred to the Dark Squad... How have you been doing in the Dark Squad?"

"Did you suffer...?"

Blood splattered in the air, even splashing onto a diner who was ordering, but the diner continued ordering as if it were a pre-arranged procedure, seemingly unaware of the sudden situation around them.

The young man clutched his neck, his eyes wide, "You..."

Xin Que grabbed his face with one hand and shoved him into the stall cart. "Shut up, imposter."

The woman never stopped walking, treating the young man as casually as swatting away mosquitoes.

Going against the current, more and more familiar faces are trying to block her way.

"Sister?" A woman two years younger than her greeted her with a smile. "You escaped from the auction? Or did you go to the upper city..."

Xin Que didn't even glance at her before slitting her throat.

The pace of progress will not slow down because of the appearance of counterfeit goods.

Xin Que grabbed a knife sharpener from a stall owner and quickly sharpened the somewhat dull military knife, then thrust it into the fake person disguised as Xin Que's companion.

"Xin Que, are you insane!" The man, still shaken, dodged Xin Que's knife. "I'm the head of the Death Squad! You don't recognize me..."

Xin Que struck the man's vital point with her knife this time, then pulled the knife out of his chest without even glancing at him, and continued walking forward.

Xin Que stopped walking when those long-gone faces, which should have been buried deep in her memory, completely disappeared.

Not far away, Ji Mingchuan was chatting and laughing with others in front of a barbecue stall.

Noticing Xin Que's gaze, the person he was talking to gestured with his chin toward Ji Mingchuan, "Is that your friend?"

Ji Mingchuan turned around and met Xin Que's eyes. "Xin Que?"

He was somewhat surprised, "What are you doing at the night market...?"

Ji Mingchuan lowered his gaze and shut his mouth when he saw the still-dripping blood military knife in Xin Que's hand.

“Uh,” Ji Mingchuan blocked the view of the person next to him, “That’s my boss. You guys go first, we can get together again sometime.”

"What happened to you?" Ji Mingchuan strode over, trying to get her to put away her military knife. "How dare you make a move in the night market?"

"This isn't some lawless zone on the high seas... Come with me right now."

Xin Que looked Ji Mingchuan up and down, then avoided his hand and slowly put the military knife back into the scabbard at her waist.

When the blade was one-third submerged in the scabbard, Xin Que caught Ji Mingchuan's subconscious sigh of relief out of the corner of her eye.

"Hey," Xin Que suddenly stopped what she was doing, "You're here to buy barbecue?"

Ji Mingchuan was taken aback for a moment, then smiled and said, "Hmm, this barbecue place is pretty good."

"I can bring you here to try it when I have time later."

"Alright," Ji Mingchuan nervously looked around, "Now is not the time to talk about this. Let's find a secluded place to clean up the blood on you so that the police don't come after us."

Xin Que didn't say anything, but her hand holding the knife hilt twitched slightly. "Ji Mingchuan?"

Ji Mingchuan looked at Xin Que with a surprised expression, "What's wrong?"

Xin Que's gaze fell on Ji Mingchuan's arm. "When the prison copied Ji Mingchuan, why didn't they tell you that the tattoo on his arm was a dragon, not a snake?"

Ji Mingchuan almost instinctively looked at his bare arms, which were exposed with his sleeves rolled up.

It is indeed a dragon.

Realizing that Xin Que was just bluffing, Ji Mingchuan suddenly raised his eyes and quickly dodged the military knife that Xin Que swung down at him.

He gave Xin Que a strange smile, then pushed through the crowd and rushed in.

Xin Que took two steps in pursuit, but found that the person had already disappeared into the crowd, so she immediately returned to the original path.

Just as she took a step, Cheng Zheng's voice rang out from behind, "Xin Que! Something's wrong here, let's go!!!"

Xin Que suddenly turned around and met Cheng Zheng, who was being held down in front of a stall not far behind her.

Cheng Zheng was pinned down on the stainless steel countertop in front of the stall by several people. He tried to struggle, but it was clear from the actions of those strangers that he had tried his best, but he still couldn't break free.

Xin Que couldn't see any flaws in Cheng Zheng's defenses, so she focused her gaze on his stall.

The vendor had replaced his cleaver with an axe. In front of him was a blazing oven, and the metal axe seemed to have been heated by the flames, its blade glowing red-hot.

In Xin Que's eyes, Cheng Zheng's location was distorted by the rolling heatwave, a terrifying sight.

The stall owner's axe gradually approached Cheng Zheng, who was pinned to the stainless steel countertop, clearly aiming to kill him.

Xin Que slowly lifted her foot and walked towards Cheng Zheng. Cheng Zheng's eyes widened immediately, his forehead covered in sweat and his expression anxious. "Don't come any closer!!! This place is incredibly eerie, but it should just be an illusion. Don't be fooled!!!"

"Run!!!"

Is Cheng Zheng real? Or fake?

Xin Que felt as if she were standing inside a giant disc, trapped in what was called a night market but was actually an execution ground meant to drive her mad, with no way out.

As Xin Que repeatedly encountered counterfeiters impersonating her former acquaintances, her emotions gradually shifted towards anger.

【Ji Mingchuan】is a tool cast down by the controller of this world, just like those imposters, toying with and destroying her sanity.

The seemingly normal Cheng Zheng, who was about to die tragically in front of her, was the final factor that completely pushed her emotions to the brink of rage.

Xin Que's eyes gradually filled with rage. She slowly tightened her grip on the military knife in her hand and, under Cheng Zheng's terrified gaze, gradually approached the diners who were suppressing him from behind.

The pace is getting faster and faster.

"Don't come any closer!" Cheng Zheng's eyes widened in fury as he twisted his shoulders, trying to stop Xin Que. "Go away!!!"

For some reason, there was a hint of anticipation amidst the heart-wrenching pain.

"Pfft."

Cheng Zheng stared in disbelief at the splattering blood in front of him.

He opened his mouth, his face full of disbelief.

Xin Que pulled the military knife from his neck. "Your acting is terrible."
