Chapter 146 The Wrath of a Common Man

Chapter 146 The Wrath of a Common Man

"Xin Que?" Luo Huayi struggled to maintain control of the body, forcing herself to search the study.

"Xin Que?!"

No.

There was no woman anywhere.

Stumbling and leaning against the doorframe, Luo Huayi walked out of the study, then stood there stunned.

After he briefly went in and out of the study, the old house was completely transformed.

The once luxurious decor and furnishings are now dilapidated and desolate in front of Luo Huayi.

The setting sun cast a bleak light, thick dust and cobwebs covered everything, porcelain ornaments were broken and shattered, and even the frames of famous paintings were teetering on the verge of collapse.

It felt as if not just a few minutes, but decades had passed in the study.

Luo Huayi was shocked.

He went through each room one by one, trying to find clues related to the changes in the scene.

There seemed to be a slight conversation coming from next door.

Luo Huayi immediately followed the sound and opened the door to the bedroom next door.

"Back then, you shamelessly interfered in my relationship with Xin Xin, and now you're putting on this self-righteous act, giving me attitude like this?!"

It's the scene where the original male protagonist points at a woman who is heartbroken and curses her.

Luo Huayi was taken aback.

The time in this room is wrong.

It was dusk outside, but it was night outside the window of this room.

Another voice came from the corridor behind them.

Luo Huayi turned around in the direction of the sound.

"Xin Que, Xin Que!" The man knelt on the ground, weeping bitterly, clutching the urn containing the ashes in his arms and wailing in heart-wrenching pain, "I was wrong, I was utterly wrong..."

Luo Huayi strode towards the stairs, past the grieving man on the ground.

His movements became increasingly fluid.

Luo Huayi looked at his hands; he could now control his body to move freely.

But at the same time, Luo Huayi also discovered that the entire old house seemed to have fallen into a chaotic time and space.

Scenes from different online times overlapped in various rooms, with the old house sometimes appearing brand new and luxurious, and other times dilapidated and desolate.

Luo Huayi covered her mouth and nose.

Now the old house is once again engulfed in flames.

Thick smoke filled the entire old house. Screams, cries for help, and explosions from the burning furniture mingled together, almost tearing one's eardrums apart.

Luo Huayi weaved through the scattering crowd, trying to discern what time it was.

I don't recall the old house ever experiencing such a large fire before...

"Xin Que..."

It's Luo Jingchen's voice again!

Luo Huayi subconsciously turned around, then walked faster and faster until she started running, rushing against the flow of the crowd surging towards the main gate towards the side gate leading to the back garden.

Among the crowd, beneath the overturned furniture, were many faces of enemies that Luo Huayi knew all too well.

The only people he could recognize were the deceased Luo couple and their relatives from the Luo family…

But Luo Huayi couldn't spare the energy or attention to look at them.

The man's eyes were fixed on the side door, and he ran faster and faster against the flow of the crowd.

Fewer and fewer people stood in his way until all that remained before him was raging fire and thick smoke.

Luo Huayi suddenly turned to the side and slammed his shoulder into the side door, which was already burning hot from the flames.

As the side door was smashed open and flipped outwards, Luo Huayi, accompanied by the roaring flames rushing out of the doorway, fell weightlessly toward the path leading to the back garden.

There was someone he needed to find there.

There is...

"Xin Que!!!" Luo Jingchen's phoenix eyes were bloodshot and almost spitting fire. He gripped Xin Que's neck tightly and pressed him to the study floor. "Madman...you fucking want to die with me?!"

Xin Que's neck and face were covered in vomited blood. With one hand pressing down hard on the young man's back, she forcefully pushed the sharpened chopsticks into his abdomen with the other. "You still haven't realized how stupid you've been..."

Luo Jingchen's cheek twitched twice, whether from pain or extreme anger, it was hard to tell. "Do you really think we wouldn't dare do anything to your body...?"

It certainly couldn't be pain.

He has no sense of pain at all.

Luo Jingchen's movements did not loosen in the slightest despite the stab wound Xin Que had inflicted on him; the young man was going all out, "You're asking for it!"

The blood-shaped data flowed from the tip of the chopsticks, staining Xin Que's fingertips and palms red, silently seeping into her skin.

Xin Que vomited another mouthful of blood, her voice almost cut off, veins bulging on her forehead. Just when the young man thought she was about to reach her limit, she slowly opened her mouth and uttered two words with difficulty, "...idiot."

His pronunciation was clear and accurate.

Luo Jingchen's anger had been provoked to the extreme. He freed his severely burned hand and swiftly drew a military knife from thin air, plunging it straight at her neck. "Die... you bitch!!!"

Xin Que desperately turned her head to dodge the military knife. The sound of the blade hitting the floor was right next to her ear, but Xin Que didn't have time to pay attention to the knife. She pulled out the chopsticks that were stuck in his abdomen and stabbed them at his eyes. As Luo Jingchen raised his hand to block, she punched Luo Jingchen in the lower abdomen.

Anthropomorphic programs do not seem to feel pain.

But Xin Que was fighting for a chance to turn the tables and escape oppression, so she had to use every means to distract Luo Jingchen.

With a solid punch, Luo Jingchen's anger was further fueled by the prisoner's provocation. He pulled out the military knife nailed to the floor, but just as he was about to stab, the woman grabbed the blade and forcefully pulled it aside.

"Looks like you're the one who's just asking for trouble," Luo Jingchen sneered through gritted teeth, "daring to be so arrogant on someone else's turf..."

Luo Jingchen's movements suddenly slowed down for a moment.

“You…” Luo Jingchen stiffly looked down at the wound caused by the chopsticks, “Virus…?”

Xin Que seized the opportunity, yanked Luo Jingchen off her, then snatched the military knife from his hand and stabbed him back, "Guess?"

Luo Jingchen's movements were only slowed down for about ten seconds.

"Ha... to be outmaneuvered by a criminal like this..." The anger on the young man's face faded inch by inch, leaving only boundless indifference in his phoenix eyes. He forcefully used the muscles of his arm, covered with burns, to block the military knife that Xin Que was thrusting down. "You do have some skill."

One permission request after another quickly flooded the floating screen. Before the administrator could approve the requests, a bright red warning message suddenly appeared above the densely packed request information.

[Warning! The mid-level AI administrator 'Biancheng Wang' has forcibly invoked execution privileges!]

"Tap!"

Xin Que suddenly dodged the flying military knife and rushed out the door.

Luo Jingchen didn't even glance at the military knife nailed to the door. With a sullen face, he slowly walked out of the study, glancing at the figure that had climbed down the stairs.

"Whoosh—"

The sound of a sharp blade slicing through the air was almost within reach, aimed directly at the woman's temple. Then, the young man's sinister voice approached simultaneously, like a death knell striking heavily in Xin Que's ears, "Prisoner Number 13, you are incorrigible, defying supervision, and even dare to disrupt the Great Howling Hell..."

"You're going to... die completely on the sixth floor!!!"
