Chapter 544 The real Zheng Jie is dead!

Shi Xi raised her hands, secretly looking for an opportunity to snatch Zheng Jie's pistol. "No, I've already had enough injuries in the last two days. I can't afford to get a few more holes in my body."

Zheng Jie remained unmoved.

Shi Xi suddenly pointed behind Zheng Jie, "Look what's that?"

Zheng Jie glanced back and felt a gust of wind blow past his left hand. Then, his pistol was in Shi Xi's hand.

The roles were reversed. Shi Xi pointed a gun at Zheng Jie's head and joked, "Zheng Jie, do you think I should shoot a few holes in you?"

Zheng Jie saw someone appear behind Shi Xi and called out, "Sir."

Shi Xi thought Zheng Jie was imitating her, so she ignored him.

"Xiao Xi, put down your gun."

Shi Xi: "..."

Grandpa Shi was right behind her.

Shi Xi put down her gun and leaned against the wall on the right. "Don't blame me for hurting them. They attacked me first."

Grandpa Shi walked up to Zheng Jie and scrutinized him with sharp eyes. "Zheng Jie, you've been by my side for so many years. When did you learn to act on your own?"

Zheng Jie covered the wound on his left arm and said, "I'm sorry, sir, Miss Shi was unwilling to go with me for a blood test, so I hit her."

Grandpa Shi remained silent, still scrutinizing Zheng Jie.

After a five-second standoff, Grandpa Shi walked over to Shi Xi and said, "Get some rest tonight. Tomorrow I'll have to trouble you to have some of your blood drawn."

Shi Xi nodded, casually toying with the pistol. "Okay."

"Can you return the gun in your hand to Zheng Jie?"

She paused, turning her hand from one gun to the other, and said decisively, "No, I'm afraid Zheng Jie will point a gun at me. These are all your men. What are you afraid of? I won't harm you. Where else can I go besides here?"

Grandpa Shi didn't want to break ties with Shi Xi right now, so he gave Zheng Jie a cold look and turned to leave.

The three people lying on the ground were also taken away by Grandpa Shi's men, leaving only Shi Xi and Zheng Jie in the corridor.

Shi Xi put away her pistol, picked up the razor blade from the ground, tilted her head and asked, "Zheng Jie, does your wrist and arm hurt?"

Zheng Jie, clutching his bleeding left arm, retorted, "What do you think?"

"How would I know how you feel? Ugh, I'm so sleepy! I'm going to sleep, don't bother me."

She swaggered past Zheng Jie, and even made a face at him before closing the door.

Zheng Jie: "..."

inside the house.

Di Chenxiao sat calmly on the edge of the bed, waiting for Shi Xi.

Feeling a little guilty, Shi Xi stood by the door without closing it and said, "You locked the bathroom door from the inside, how did you get out?"

"Can a door really lock me up?"

Shi Xi touched her nose and whispered, "No."

The tall shadow loomed over Shi Xi. Di Chenxiao picked her up and placed her on the bed, then helped her change her dressing.

He didn't speak at all during the dressing change.

Shi Xi knew she was in the wrong and dared not speak.

The bruises on his shoulder stung Di Chenxiao's eyes. He asked hoarsely, "Did Zheng Jie do this?"

"Hmm! It doesn't hurt, it doesn't hurt at all. Zheng Jie's injury is more serious than mine."

Di Chenxiao looked up at Shi Xi and then applied the medicine to her.

"Are you proud?"

"No, I'm not proud."

Silence fell over the air once more.

After changing the dressing, Shi Xi realized that Zheng Jie was acting very strangely.

"Xiao Xiao, Zheng Jie only bruised my shoulder when he hit it, but then he punched the wall, which cracked it. I even managed to trick him with a lie I'd tell a child and snatch the gun from him. Tell me, wasn't he doing it on purpose?"

Di Chenxiao: "The real Zheng Jie is dead!"
