Chapter 134 You Come Back Here

Chen Zhanliang was filled with remorse. Da Bao had been absent-minded these past few days, constantly talking about wanting to separate from Old Man Chen and not wanting to be involved with them anymore.

He didn't take it seriously at the time, thinking he was just joking, but he didn't expect the kid to be so determined and go to Wolf Valley alone.

He was anxious and said, "Cuiqin, you stay home and take care of Erbao. I'm going to Wolf Valley to find Dabao."

Although worried about her son, Madam Sun still retained a sliver of reason and quickly stopped him, saying, "Zhanliang, it's too dangerous for you to go alone. You should wait for the village head!"

"No, I can't wait any longer. Every second that I wait increases the danger to Da Bao." Chen Zhanliang said, turning to leave.

Old Mrs. Chen came out of the house and leaned against the door frame, looking like she was watching a commotion. When she saw Chen Zhanliang turn around to go to Wolf Valley, she immediately became anxious, "Second son, you stop right there! What are you doing so late at night?"

"Mom, Da Bao went to Wolf Valley, I'm going to find him."

"Where can you find someone in this pitch black? Wolf Valley is teeming with poisonous insects and ferocious beasts. No one who goes in ever comes out alive. You should stay home with me."

Chen Zhanliang felt a touch of emotion; he hadn't expected his mother to care for him and worry about him at such a crucial moment. But now, with the situation dire, it wasn't the time for motherly affection; saving lives was the priority.

"Mother, even if it means going to my death, I have to go to Wolf Valley to save Da Bao."

"You come back here!"

Old Mrs. Chen called Chen Zhanliang back as he turned to leave, giving him a disapproving glare.

"Are you stupid? Da Bao hasn't come back yet. He's either been killed by wolves or poisonous snakes. If you go now, aren't you just throwing your life away?"

"If you die, what will happen to our family? Who will go up the mountain to gather firewood? Who will farm those few acres of land? You're just trying to work your father and me to death!"

"That's right, your mother is right. You can't go. If anything happens to you, there will be no one to do the work at home," Old Chen said, speaking his mind.
