Chen Zhanshan misheard "fish" as "donkey" and immediately became furious.
"I don't care if you're a young donkey or an old donkey. Once you sell your donkey to us, it belongs to us. This donkey has nothing to do with you anymore, young donkey. Understand?"
Lin was soft-hearted and felt sorry for Xiaoyu, so she quickly said, "Husband, stop talking about the little donkey and the old donkey. You're confusing me. This child is leading the donkey on the road, so he might really be hungry. Why don't we give him some food?"
Chen Zhanshan nodded.
Lin turned and went into the house. A moment later, she came out with two pieces of dry food. "Young man, take these dry food and keep them for the road."
Little Fish was really hungry. She had only eaten two bowls of wontons in town, so she wasn't full to begin with.
Without a second thought, he took the rations and began to eat them heartily.
Seeing him wolfing down his food, Lin hurriedly said to Chen Zhanshan, "This child is really starving. Go and get him a bowl of water."
"Alright." Chen Zhanshan was also moved by compassion. In these days, no one's life is easy. If they could fill their stomachs, they would not sell such a good donkey.
He poured a bowl of water and handed it to Xiaoyu, looking concerned. "Don't choke, eat slowly. No one will take it from you."
The little fish nodded vigorously, and in no time, it had finished two portions of dry food.
Seeing that he was standing there blankly and showed no sign of leaving, Lin smiled and said,
"Young man, you've eaten your rations and drunk your water. Hurry up and go home so your parents won't worry."
"I'm not leaving, I'm not going anywhere,"
The smile on Lin's face vanished instantly. "You donkey seller are really something. Do you think you can get away with selling us your donkey?"
Xiao Yujun's face was full of urgency. "My wife said that her home is my home. Wherever she is, I will be there. I'm not leaving."
"You brat, what nonsense are you spouting? Are you looking for a beating?"
Seeing him spouting nonsense, Chen Zhanshan angrily grabbed a stick from beside him and prepared to hit him.
The little fish seemed to sense danger. Seeing the falling stick, it easily caught it, muttering, "Bad guy, you're a bad guy..."
He said he was about to snatch the stick and fight back.
"Little Fish, stop right now!"
Chen Qingqing had been holding it in all the way home, and when she got home she rushed to the outhouse, only to see the scene before her.
Hearing the shouts, Xiaoyu lowered her raised hand and cried out to Chen Qingqing with a wronged expression, "Wife, they are bad people. They chased me away and even tried to hit me."
Chen Dabao tied up his donkey and came over from the backyard, his eyes wide with surprise.
That donkey seller actually called Sister Qingqing "wife"! This is outrageous! He dares to block her door and take advantage of her.
He was instantly enraged. Ignoring his injured leg, he rushed over and punched Xiaoyu in the face.
Suddenly, his footing gave way, and he fell face-first to the ground.
Chen Dabao used all his strength in that punch, intending to subdue this arrogant kid in one move, but he didn't expect to send him sprawling face-first into the dirt.
He felt a warm rush from his nose, and hurriedly raised his hand to wipe it away, only to find his hands and face sticky and covered in a bloody smell...
Chen Zhanshan was panting heavily with anger. This scoundrel not only shouted and insulted his daughter's innocence, but also dared to hit his nephew. He was immediately enraged and rolled up his sleeves, ready to fight.
Chen Qingqing was completely stunned by what she saw. She thought Xiaoyu was definitely going to get beaten up, but to her surprise, he dodged Dabao's attack with a simple sidestep.
At this moment, he reacted quickly, moved nimbly, and looked calm; there was no trace of the foolishness of someone with amnesia.
She rushed over and grabbed Chen Zhanshan, "Dad, don't be angry, let me explain."
After saying that, he helped Chen Dabao up, "Dabao, are you alright!"
Chen Dabao stood up, his face covered in blood, looking like a wounded tabby cat. "I'm fine, sis. Move aside and let me teach this kid a lesson. Let's see if he dares to take advantage of you again."
"Da Bao, don't be impulsive, there's a misunderstanding here."
"Sis, what exactly happened?"
"Yes, Qing girl, who exactly is this kid?"
Chen Zhanshan also quieted down, staring blankly at Chen Qingqing, waiting for her to explain.
Chen Qingqing secretly blamed herself, it was all because she had been holding in her pee that she hadn't explained things clearly and caused such a big misunderstanding.
She smiled slightly, "Father, Mother, Xiaoyu isn't selling donkeys. Look closely, doesn't he look a little familiar?"
Chen Zhanshan was taken aback and carefully examined Xiaoyu. She did look somewhat familiar, as if he had seen her somewhere before, but he couldn't quite place her.
He frowned and asked, "If he's not selling donkeys, then who is he? Could he be a relative of ours?"
Lin exclaimed in surprise, "Husband, he looks like the person that Qingya rescued in Wild Wolf Valley."
“Mother, it’s not just a resemblance, it’s him,” Chen Qingqing said with a smile.
After receiving an affirmative answer, Chen Zhanshan looked at it carefully again and was stunned.
"It really is that living dead man. How did he wake up?"
Mrs. Lin was also quite surprised. "Yes, didn't you send him to Fukuda Hospital? Why did you bring him back?"
Chen Qingqing quickly recounted the events in detail, then smiled and said...
"I don't know exactly how he woke up, but his brain probably received some kind of stimulation that caused him to suddenly become awake."
"Dad, Mom, I've brought him back. You won't blame me, will you?"
Chen Zhanshan sighed solemnly, "Qing girl, you did the right thing. With his current mentally challenged state, if we leave him alone, he might end up on the streets. If it were me, I wouldn't be able to bear seeing him suffer."
