Chapter 187 Failed to Achieve Its Goal

Fan Tong grinned. Although it wasn't Chen Qingqing, that young woman seemed to possess a magical power; he hadn't felt tired all night.

It had been a long time since he had felt this good; he felt incredibly comfortable in every pore of his body.

Now that I've calmed down, I feel backache, leg cramps, dizziness, headache, and trembling hands.

The smile on his face vanished, and he said angrily, "Satisfied my ass! I almost died from exhaustion, and now I'm left feeling incredibly angry."

"Sir, what happened?"

"Don't ask any more questions. Just take me home. I need to rest."

Fan Tong was about to get into the car when he said that.

After settling Chen Ruolan in, Old Mrs. Chen hurriedly came out, wanting to invite Fan Tong into the house so that she could discuss the marriage with her third son when he returned.

Seeing that he was about to leave, he hurriedly ran up to him, "Master Fan, things haven't been discussed yet, you can't leave!"

Fan Tong was getting impatient and said with a gloomy face, "Are you ever going to stop? What's there to discuss with you?"

Old Mrs. Chen was still dreaming. Although she was a little disappointed that she hadn't managed to scheme against Chen Qingqing, she was quite happy that Ruolan could marry Fan Tong as a concubine.

At the very least, they will live a life of luxury from now on, with maids and servants to wait on them when they go out.

Her face lit up with a smile. "Oh, my dear Mr. Fan, of course it's about your marriage to Ruolan. Now that my Ruolan is yours, shouldn't we discuss the wedding arrangements?"

"What's there to discuss? Just find an auspicious day and send it to the Fan residence."

Old Mrs. Chen was taken aback and somewhat unwilling. "How can this be? Although my family is not a famous clan, my third son will pass the imperial examination next year and become a scholar. My Ruolan is the daughter of a scholar. With such a status, even if we don't have a grand wedding procession, we should at least be welcomed into the family with a sedan chair carried by eight people."

Fan Tong grimaced, his eyes full of contempt. "Old Chen, you're dreaming! Eight-bearer sedan chair? If you want to send her off, go ahead. If not, she can stay at your house. I'm not wasting my money on this nonsense!"

"No, no, no, Mr. Fan, please don't be angry. Since you think it's too expensive, then four people can carry it."

"Stop talking nonsense. You can deliver it or not, it's up to you. If you don't want to, then forget it. I don't have time to waste on your nonsense."

Fan Tong had been longing to marry Chen Qingqing for a long time, but he never expected to be made a fool of by this old woman.

She actually managed to get Chen Ruolan to throw herself into her arms; such a woman is a slut, a whore...

What's even more infuriating is that this old hag brought villagers to catch them in the act of adultery, leaving them with no choice but to agree to the marriage.

Fan Tong felt increasingly aggrieved and angry as he thought about it. He pointed at Old Lady Chen.

“I was giving you face by saying I would marry your granddaughter in front of everyone. Don’t be ungrateful. If you dare to make demands again, I’ll make sure your family suffers the consequences.”

After listening to their conversation, Shi Taishou seemed to understand that Fan Tong had been fooled. He deserved it, he really deserved it!

These past few days I've been trying to persuade him not to have any bad ideas about Chen Qingqing. She's a miracle worker; she can bring people back from the dead, but she can also make someone's illness worse.

If you really push someone too far, they can easily poison someone with any kind of medicine.

But he was blinded by lust and wouldn't listen to any advice. He insisted on finding a matchmaker to propose marriage.

Well, now someone with ulterior motives has taken advantage of the situation and is now clinging to this.

Although he felt relieved, Shi Taishou knew the principle of siding with whoever was in charge. Since his master had suffered a setback, he, as a servant, had to rely on his master's power and share his burden.

Thinking of this, Shi Taishou glared at Old Madam Chen with annoyance, "Let me give you a piece of advice: don't upset my master, or you'll be in big trouble."

Old Mrs. Chen was unconvinced and snorted coldly, "Steward Shi, my Ruolan is your future fifth concubine, half a mistress. How dare you talk to me like that? You don't know any manners. Be careful, my grandson-in-law will punish you in the future."

Shi Taishou scoffed at this. The old woman was truly ridiculous; her granddaughter had become a concubine and she was so smug about it. Didn't she know a concubine was just a plaything?

If I'm satisfied, I can keep him for a few days; if I'm not, I can sell him anytime. This guy is even more arrogant and abusive than I am.

Just as he was about to say something sarcastic, Fan Tong impatiently shouted, "His shit stinks, don't bother arguing with him, just leave."

"Yes, sir." Shi Taishou ignored Old Madam Chen, looked at Fan Tong with respectful eyes, and bowed and scraped. "Sir, please get in the carriage, let's go."

Grandma Chen stood there stunned, not coming to her senses until Fan Tong left.

Seeing his wife standing there motionless like a wooden stake, Old Chen quickly went over to her.

"Old woman, what are you doing standing here? Where is Master Fan?"

After recovering, Old Mrs. Chen immediately started cursing, "Get out of here, you damned good-for-nothing, go back to your turtle den!"

"Oh my old woman, you're really confused! Zhan Cai hasn't returned yet, how could you let Master Fan leave!"

"He has hands and feet; I can stop him from leaving if he wants to!"

Old Mrs. Chen vented all her resentment on Old Mr. Chen.

"You useless piece of trash, what were you doing in that room just now? Why didn't you come out and help me stop him? Now that Master Fan is gone, you're blaming me. If you have the guts, go and chase him back. If you don't, then stay quiet and stop spouting nonsense. It's making me anxious!"

Old Chen was so angry that he didn't dare to look up. He said in a low voice, "I was just asking. I didn't mean to blame you. Why are you so angry? Calm down and don't be angry."

"How can I not be angry? That damned Fan Tong is such a scoundrel! Our family is at least half a scholarly family, but he actually wants us to send Ruolan directly there. Tell me, isn't that blatantly humiliating us?"

"Alright, old woman, keep your voice down. Master Fan is rich and powerful, not someone we common folk can afford to offend. We'll do whatever he says. If we really anger him and he disowns us as relatives, Ruolan's life will be over."

Hearing this, Old Mrs. Chen's anger subsided slightly, but she was still quite upset. She stomped her foot angrily, "What kind of mess have I made?!"

......
