The wind was fierce and the rain was torrential; the gale violently pounded against the dilapidated windowpanes, producing a series of mournful sounds.
The mournful cries created a sense of inexplicable oppression.
Dozens of men in black stood outside, each wielding a sharp blade.
The leader waved his hand, "They've been drugged. Split into two teams and finish them off quickly, leaving no one alive."
"Yes!" Dozens of men in black, armed with sharp blades, quickly approached the guest room, pushed open the door, and began hacking wildly at the bed.
Chen Qingqing stood motionless behind the door, crossbow in hand, her cold eyes fixed on every move outside.
Seeing the black-clad assassin rush in, she raised her crossbow and, without hesitation, pulled the trigger at the man's head. The man's neck lolled to the side, and he was lifeless.
Arrow after arrow, four or five assassins fell to the ground.
The other men in black quickly realized what was happening and shouted, "Oh no, we've fallen into a trap!" They then turned around and swung their knives at Chen Qingqing, who was standing behind the door.
This was Chen Qingqing's first time killing someone; her face turned pale, and her hands trembled slightly.

Seeing the assassins closing in, Chen Qingqing threw a handful of sleeping powder at them.
Unfortunately, the assassins were all wearing masks, so the poison wasn't very effective and didn't knock them unconscious. However, it did manage to throw them into a moment of panic.

Chen Qingqing's eyes were sharp. Seeing another assassin attacking from the right, she moved her hands and grabbed the assassin's hand, throwing him over her shoulder. The assassin was slammed to the ground, letting out a pig-like howl.
Then, with a swift movement, she brought down her knife, and *splat*... blood spurted out. The assassin's head lolled to the side, and he was dead.
The remaining two assassins, seeing this, trembled with fear and turned to run away.
How could Chen Qingqing give them that chance? She quickly took out her crossbow and fired two arrows at their backs.
Before the two could even utter a word of pleading, they collapsed to the ground.
Concerned for the safety of Chu Jiuqing and the others, she turned and ran towards the next room.
Meanwhile, Chu Jiuqing lay on the bed with his eyes closed, his ears perked up warily.
The masked man at the head of the group approached Chu Jiuqing and, seeing him fast asleep, couldn't help but let out a cold laugh.
"Prince Ning, Prince Ning, I never imagined that you, the invincible war god who struck fear into the hearts of your enemies, would die by my hand. To be honest, I really couldn't bear to kill you, but the temptation of promotion and titles was too great, so I had no choice but to sacrifice you!"
After saying that, the masked man raised his sword and thrust it fiercely at Chu Jiuqing.
Chu Jiuqing's heart skipped a beat upon hearing the man in black's words.
It was him, the assassin who ambushed him on the way last time!

The pitch-black room was suddenly filled with the glint of swords.
In a matter of moments, all the men in black were killed and lay scattered in pools of blood.
Upon seeing this, the masked man in the lead ran outside and disappeared into the vast night with a few leaps.
Worried about Chen Qingqing's safety, Chu Jiuqing did not chase after her, but quickly ran towards her.
The two met at the door and spoke at the same time, "Little Fish (Qing Yatou), are you alright!"
Chen Qingqing shook her head. "It's okay, I'm fine."
Chu Jiuqing breathed a sigh of relief, "It's good that you're alright."
As soon as he finished speaking, Zhuifeng walked in from outside, clasped his hands in a fist salute to Chu Jiuqing, and said, "Your Highness, Zhuyue has led men to hunt down the masked man, and all the others have been killed!"
