Old Mrs. Chen looked at the half-full basket of cow dung in front of her, grimacing in disgust, and involuntarily fanned her nose with her hand.
"How can this stinky stuff cure illness?"
"Yes, this is the first time I've heard that cow dung can cure diseases." Old Chen frowned as he looked on.
Chen Qingqing ignored their question and continued to instruct, "Go and find some more 'children's urine'."
"Public urination? What is public urination?" Old Mrs. Chen was stunned again, her face full of doubt.
Old Chen chuckled and chimed in, "You really don't know anything. Child's urine is just a child's pee."
"What?! It's both poop and pee! Is this going to be mixed with mud?" Old Mrs. Chen stared wide-eyed at Chen Qingqing. "Qing'er, what do you need baby pee for?"
"You just don't understand!"
Chen Qingqing smiled and shook her head, then began to explain earnestly.
"Children's urine, also known as Reincarnation Wine, Rejuvenation Soup, and Immortal Water, is cold in nature and salty in taste. It has the effects of detoxifying and reducing inflammation, clearing heat and reducing fire, promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis, and treating headaches. Most importantly, children's urine can expel evil spirits. The scholar had evil spirits in his body. Yang energy restrains Yin evil spirits, so it must be used as a medicine guide to detoxify and remove blood stasis."
Grandma Chen exclaimed in surprise, "My goodness, is it true? Urine can cure so many diseases?"
“Old woman, what she said should be true,” Old Chen said in a low voice. “When I was little, my grandfather often drank my urine, saying it could cure my back pain.”
Grandma Chen nodded in agreement. "I've heard of what you're talking about before, but I never imagined that boy's urine could cure headaches. If I had known it had this effect, I wouldn't have wasted money buying herbal medicine before."
"That's right. Your migraines cost a lot of money in the past few years. It seems you won't waste money anymore."
"Alright, that's enough. Go and get some boy's urine."
"I'm not a virgin either, where am I supposed to get one?"
Seeing that Old Man Chen couldn't quite grasp the concept, Old Woman Chen rolled her eyes in exasperation. "You big idiot! Who told you to go pee? I meant for you to find a child to pee on and bring it back. Do you understand now?"
"I thought you were confused, but it turns out I didn't understand. I'll go right now." Old Chen had just turned around when he saw Erbao next to Sun Shi and hurriedly called out, "Erbao, hurry up and pee some pee."
"I'm not going."
"Erbao, your third uncle is waiting for the boy's urine to cure his illness, why don't you go and urinate there?" Madam Sun hurriedly advised.
Erbao turned his head to the side, "I won't pee on him."
Seeing that Erbao hadn't moved, Old Man Chen frowned and waved to Chen Jiye, who was not far away.
"Jiye, come here and quickly help your father pee some."
"Grandpa, I just peed, and I don't need any more now."
"You silly child, who told you to pee like that? You're making things difficult!"
"I didn't want to pee, but when I saw my dad acting crazy, I got scared and peed my pants." Chen Jiye looked aggrieved and almost cried.
"Oh dear, how could you wet your pants, child!" Old Chen quickly bent down and felt around. "Can you squeeze any more out?"
"It's almost completely collapsed."
"What should we do?" Old Chen got up and looked around, asking all the children present, but none of them had urinated.
He stamped his feet in frustration, "What kind of situation is this? How come none of you have any pee?!"
Someone in the crowd jokingly said, "Uncle Zhonghou, looks like nobody cares about you. How about I pee on your pot?"
"Get out of here, just stay put, I'm holding it in!" Old Chen replied impatiently, then turned to Old Chen's wife. "Old woman, we have plenty of children, but none of them are able to pee. What are we going to do?"
"Useless things! If you don't have any for a little kid, can't you find something a bit older?" Old Mrs. Chen ignored him and called out to Da Bao behind Chen Zhancai, "Da Bao, go and relieve yourself."
Where are you going?
"What do you mean by 'what'? We need to use a boy's urine to cure your third uncle's illness. Hurry up and pee some."
"I..." Chen Dabao was so angry that his face turned red, and he stared at the screen, unable to speak.
Chen Zhancai couldn't help but say, "Mother, are you kidding me? 'Tongzi' means child. Dabao is an adult now, his pee is useless."
"What should we do?" Grandma Chen was also anxious. She looked at Erbao and said, "Grandson, Grandma knows you need to pee. Please help your third uncle for Grandma's sake!"
“Yes, Erbao, if you have any, give some to your third uncle!” Sun Shi also chimed in, urging him on.
Erbao didn't want to agree, but he really couldn't hold it in any longer, so he nodded in agreement, found a broken water ladle, ran to a corner, and peed a lot.
Seeing that everything was ready, Chen Qingqing instructed Old Man Chen, "Find a bucket immediately and mix the child's urine and the incense together."
Old Chen didn't ask any more questions. He covered his nose and started working. Before long, the mixture became thick and sticky.
Old Mrs. Chen, watching from the side, felt nauseous and covered her nose, asking, "Old man, are you mixing these two things together to give our son a foot bath?"
Old Chen said, "No way, how can you soak your feet in this stinky place!"
Old Chen smiled smugly, “You really don’t know anything. In winter, children often get frostbite, right? The old folks would put fresh cow dung on the frostbite until it dried, and the frostbite would heal. I even put cow dung on my hands when I was a kid.”
"Based on what you're saying, it's possible that it's a foot soak therapy."
Old Chen stirred it a few more times, then turned to Chen Qingqing beside him and asked,
"Qing girl, do you think this is alright?"
As he asked the question, he used the stick in his hand to nudge it upwards a few times.
Chen Qingqing nodded in satisfaction, "Very good, that's fine, bring it over quickly!"
Looking at the dark, sticky cow dung in the wooden bucket, Chen Zhancai almost vomited from disgust. "Qing girl, can this stuff really cure diseases?"
"Of course. White lingxiang can cure edema and foul breath, and boy's urine is pure yang and has a strong effect of warding off evil. If the two are processed together, the effect will be greatly enhanced, and the evil energy in the scholar's body can be forced out in a short time."
Chen Zhancai seemed to understand but not quite what he was saying. "So what do we do next?"
"You'll have to bear with it for a bit, and it's best to close your eyes while I have someone apply the medicine."
"Close your eyes? Why close your eyes?" Chen Zhancai seemed to realize what he was about to do.
"Of course I'll apply the medicine to your face. Do you want to take it orally?"
"No, no, no." Chen Zhancai quickly shook his head. "Qing girl, people have to save face, and trees have to keep their bark. If this gets out, I won't be able to face anyone."
Chen Qingqing sighed, feigning difficulty, "Then what should we do? Should we continue with the acupuncture?"
"No, no, no, that feels even worse. I'd rather apply the medicine!" Chen Zhancai shook his head repeatedly...
