Chapter 50: An apology is impossible.

Police Officer Qin took the two men back to the station and told them what had happened the night before.

When Xu Qingqing learned that after she left last night, there were others who wanted to harm Xie Zheng, and even do so ruthlessly, she couldn't help but feel schadenfreude.

Who made Xie Zheng look down on everyone, always thinking he was superior and different from others? Anyone who saw that kind of attitude would want to take a beating.

Bo Jingran calmly said, "Public Security Officer Qin, as far as I know, Comrade Xie has only been here for a short time. Apart from the steel plant, he has only been back in his dormitory. It's unlikely that he has offended anyone."

Xu Qingqing scoffed: "Why not? That guy is petty and narrow-minded. He wants to look down on everyone, so naturally someone will want to teach him a lesson."

Qin Gong'an immediately turned his gaze to her. Xu Qingqing was just saying that he couldn't stand it, after all, this person's thought process was quite bizarre.

Bo Jingran coughed lightly twice and gently touched Xu Qingqing's arm to remind her to stop talking.

Xu Qingqing rolled her eyes at him: "Am I wrong? Even if he didn't have any here, he must have offended a lot of people in the capital before."

This is indeed very likely. Qin Gong'an has also investigated, and besides the two people in front of him, it cannot be ruled out that they might be enemies that the other party offended in the capital.

Thinking of this, Qin Gong'an picked up the notes he had taken on the table and walked outside.

Xu Qingqing and Bo Jingran exchanged a glance. Xu Qingqing leaned closer to him and whispered, "Do you think Xie Zheng stole the wife of the person behind him? That's why he had his legs broken."

Bo Jingran was speechless. But then he thought about what happened that day and realized that it wasn't impossible.

When Qin Gong'an walked in, he saw the two of them huddled together whispering, with Xu Qingqing occasionally letting out a strange laugh.

Qin Gong'an: "..."

Upon seeing Qin Gong's return, Xu Qingqing greeted him and sat down obediently, completely different from the person who had been gossiping about other people's relationships just moments before.

Bo Jingran wasn't as carefree as Xu Qingqing. Behind her back, he discussed Xie Zheng's affair while pretending nothing had happened.

I don't know if Officer Qin heard it, but he awkwardly dug out a three-bedroom apartment and lowered his head, pretending to be invisible.

Qin Gong'an sat down expressionlessly and looked at Xu Qingqing: "Comrade Xu, regarding your act of hitting Comrade Xie, given your good attitude in turning yourself in, you will be given a lighter punishment."

First, I apologize to Comrade Xie.

Second, compensate Comrade Xie 200 yuan.

When Xu Qingqing heard that she had to apologize to Xie Zheng, her eyes widened instantly, and she opened her mouth to refuse.

Bo Jingran quickly covered her mouth and assured Officer Qin, "Officer Qin, don't worry, we will definitely apologize to the other party."

After saying that, he pulled Xu Qingqing away, afraid that if they didn't leave soon, his wife would say something shocking.

Bo Jingran breathed a sigh of relief after being dragged out of the police station.

Xu Qingqing broke free from Bo Jingran's hand and glared at him angrily: "Why won't you let me speak? It's impossible for me to apologize to Xie Zheng. The word 'apology' has never existed in my dictionary."

He angrily pushed Bo Jingran aside and walked towards his bicycle.

Bo Jingran followed behind with a wry smile, explaining to Xu Qingqing that he did this for her own good.

Xu Qingqing walked forward without looking back, and finally, annoyed, she yelled, "Aren't you annoying?!"

She knew, of course, that refusing to apologize might result in harsher punishment, and given the choice, she preferred the latter.

It's all that bastard Bo Jingran's fault!

Xu Qingqing's expression turned unfriendly, and she sneered. So what if he wants her to apologize to him? No problem, let's see if Xie Zheng can handle it.

He rode his bicycle all the way to the hospital at breakneck speed, and when he stopped, he showed off his cool drift tail.

Pedestrians on the street were so frightened by Xu Qingqing's terrifying expression that they quickly moved away.

Xu Qingqing sat on Xie Zheng's hospital bed and coldly snorted, "Comrade Xie is really interesting. I heard that your experience last night was very exciting. You almost broke your leg."

His eyes held a hint of regret; he was just a hair's breadth away from successfully breaking Xie Zheng's leg.

Which idiot discovered it so early? Couldn't it have been a little later, giving that person a chance to make a move?

The nurse who was changing Xie Zheng's dressing nearby heard Xu Qingqing mention this and immediately looked up and laughed, "That's right, it's a good thing I found out early, otherwise Comrade Xie's leg might not have been saved."

Xu Qingqing's expression froze, and she slowly turned her head to look at the nurse.

"Did you find it?"

The young nurse nodded proudly and admitted, "Yes, it was me. The hospital director even praised me today."

Xu Qingqing gasped for breath and clutched her chest, forcing herself not to look at the nurse's innocent appearance, comforting herself not to argue with such a naive person.

Xie Zheng struggled to turn over in his hospital bed. When he saw that it was Xu Qingqing, he showed a displeased expression and said sarcastically, "Yes, I'm lucky to be alive, but I can't do what someone wants."

"What are you doing here? Where's Bo Jingran? Is he too scared to come? I knew that gigolo was nothing but a pretty face."

While venting his anger, Xie Zheng also resented Bo Jingran's luck; his eyes were filled with envy for Bo Jingran.

They were jealous of his talent and resentful that Bo Jingran was favored by his master.

I studied hard since I was a child, and went through all sorts of hardships, just so that I could become a disciple of a master.

But Bo Jingran easily got this opportunity and then voluntarily gave up choosing to become a disciple of a master, how could he not hate him?

Xu Qingqing's lips curled slightly. She noticed the fleeting jealousy in Xie Zheng's eyes and saw that he had a deep grudge against Bo Jingran. She immediately guessed the reason.

She casually twirled the ends of her hair, looked her up and down, and occasionally made disdainful "tsk tsk tsk" sounds.

Xie Zheng, unable to contain himself any longer, roared, "Xu Qingqing, what kind of expression is that! Did you come here just to humiliate me like this!"

Xie Zheng was so emotional that he used too much force and accidentally aggravated his wound. His facial features twisted together in an instant, looking both comical and terrifying.

The nurse quickly called out, "Comrade Xie, don't move! The medicine hasn't been applied yet."

He then blamed Xu Qingqing: "Comrade, Comrade Xie is a patient, how could you deliberately anger him!"

The young nurse gazed at Xie Zheng with a shy yet affectionate look in her eyes.

Xu Qingqing: "..."

Something's up here!

She could clearly see that the nurse had developed feelings for Xie Zheng. She never expected that Xie Zheng, who looked so respectable, could so easily win the nurse's heart.

Xu Qingqing couldn't help but sigh that Xie Zheng was incredibly popular with women.

Xu Qingqing then remembered the purpose of her visit, and her eyes instantly turned cold. She gave Xie Zheng a very perfunctory apology: "Comrade Xie, I'm sorry that I hit you in a fit of anger."

I now deeply understand that before taking action, I must clean up the mess thoroughly, leaving no trace.

"What did you say? You hit me?"

Xie Zheng wondered if he had misheard. Was it Xu Qingqing who hit him, not Bo Jingran as he had originally thought?

The nurse angrily pointed at Xu Qingqing and shouted, "So it was you! How could you be so wicked? Comrade Xie has no grudge against you, you've gone too far!"

"And the attitude you just displayed when you apologized—you weren't sincere in coming here to apologize to Comrade Xie."
