Chapter 60: Getting Scolded, 10,000-Word Self-Criticism!

The next day, Xu Qingqing, Zhou Chenyu, and Zhao Tianyang were reprimanded in the leader's office.

Zhao Tianyang was unconvinced and muttered, "What happened yesterday has nothing to do with me. I didn't draw any villains, push Hai Fu, or push Director Hai. Why should I be here for training?"

"Because you were being impulsive!"

The leader happened to overhear Zhao Tianyang's words and rebuked him without any politeness.

She pointed at him and yelled, "Look at you! Why did you have to be so clumsy? If you hadn't opened it, would any of this have happened?"

“That’s right, that’s right. Boss, you should give him a good scolding. It’s all his fault.” Xu Qingqing nodded.

Zhao Tianyang retorted, "Everything is my fault. You even made Director Ma faint from anger."

"You're talking nonsense! How could I have angered Director Ma? Don't wrong me," Xu Qingqing denied.

"Of course there is. You drew little figures on the two pieces of calligraphy that Director Ma gave you, and he was furious."

"No, I showed it to him. He wasn't furious. It wasn't because I drew little people at all."

Hearing the two arguing, the leader slammed his hand on the table and roared, "What are you arguing about!"

"And you! Did we bring you to this conference to draw little figures?"

"Do you know that because of your little picture, all those people laughed themselves into the hospital and are still lying there now?"

Speaking of this, the leader was furious. Just because of a book of comic strips, dozens of people ended up in the hospital, and even reporters were alerted.

Speaking of today's newspaper, the leader was even angrier. He picked up the newspaper, pointed at the photos, and roared, "Look at these photos! You've brought shame upon the entire nation! Tell me what you've done!"

Zhao Tianyang saw the faces above him, all contorted with laughter, and was glad he had managed to hold back in time; otherwise, one of the seats above would have been taken from him.

If his mother sees this, she'll whip him to death with a willow branch.

Xu Qingqing lowered her head: "Isn't this great? The whole country will remember them."

The leader laughed in exasperation. That bastard Li Chao always picks bizarre people to participate in the exchange conference!

The previous person, who was in poor health, fell to the ground after arguing with someone and demanded compensation.

This is even more serious; dozens of people were sent to the hospital, and it made the newspapers.

Damn it, I wonder who will come next year. Thinking about this, the leader rubbed his temples and had a terrible headache.

Xu Qingqing immediately moved little by little behind Zhou Chenyu, trying to use him as a shield.

Zhou Chenyu frowned and moved to the side, and Xu Qingqing followed suit.

Zhao Tianyang watched this scene with amazement.

The leader looked up, saw this scene, slammed his hand on the table, stood up, pointed at Xu Qingqing and Zhou Chenyu, and roared: "What kind of behavior is this? Stand up straight!"

Xu Qingqing stood still, obediently standing still, but her hand was gripping the hem of Zhou Chenyu's clothes.

Zhou Chenyu couldn't move. He noticed Xu Qingqing's movements and tried to break free, but Xu Qingqing was too strong. With a forceful effort, his coat was torn open from the bottom up.

Upon hearing the sound, the two froze. Xu Qingqing released her hand, pretended to be nonchalant, and stood to the side.

Zhou Chenyu froze, feeling a chill on his back. He pursed his lips and looked at the culprit.

Xu Qingqing looked at the ceiling and the floor, but not at Zhou Chenyu. She noticed Zhao Tianyang winking at her and glaring at him.

The leader was even more annoyed and waved them back to write self-criticisms, saying they could leave as soon as they could finish a 10,000-word self-criticism.

Zhao Tianyang was dumbfounded. Ten thousand words? When would he finish writing that?

If I had known, he wouldn't have been curious about the little figures; why did he have to be so impulsive as to open it?

Upon hearing this, Xu Qingqing's eyes lit up. She ran to the leader and held out her hand: "Leader, I need paper and a pen."

The leader assumed there was no paper or pen, so he took them out of the drawer and handed them to Xu Qingqing.

Xu Qingqing took the document, quickly wrote a few large characters, and placed it in front of him: "I've finished writing a 10,000-word self-criticism."

"It's finished so quickly!" Zhao Tianyang exclaimed in surprise.

The leader didn't believe it either, but when he looked down, he was incredulous to see five large characters written on it.

"A 10,000-word self-criticism!"

He clutched his chest with one hand and pointed at Xu Qingqing with the other, too angry to speak.

Xu Qingqing quickly picked up the teapot next to the table and poured water for her boss.

“That’s right. Didn’t you say that a 10,000-word self-criticism would be enough? I’ve written it according to your requirements, so you can’t go back on your word.”

"You, you, you, so you were trying to take advantage of this opening! Fine, fine, you can go now."

After the leader finished speaking, he waved his hand, telling Xu Qingqing to leave quickly. If he kept her around, who knows what kind of nonsense she would spout later.

Xu Qingqing chuckled, and after receiving the leader's order, she quickly ran away, as she needed to catch her train.

Zhao Tianyang was dumbfounded. Pointing at Xu Qingqing's departing figure, he asked Zhou Chenyu beside him, "Is this even allowed?"

If all 10,000-word self-criticisms are written like this, then wouldn't he never have to rack his brains to find the right words to write a self-criticism?

If you write like this, even if you ask him to write a million words, it'll be a piece of cake.

Zhou Chenyu's expression was indifferent. Seeing Zhao Tianyang's silly grin, he knew that the kid had misunderstood again.

"You should be thinking about how to write a self-criticism. If you can't hand in a 10,000-word self-criticism by tomorrow morning and delay my return, I'll make you crawl back home."

After Zhou Chenyu finished speaking, he turned and left, with Zhao Tianyang following behind him, feeling utterly hopeless.

Xu Qingqing returned to the guesthouse, packed her things, and hurriedly boarded the train.

She found her seat and sat down, but due to time constraints, she couldn't get a sleeper ticket.

Xu Qingqing closed her eyes to rest, her mind entering the space to begin her daily routine of gathering medicinal herbs.

*

After several days and nights, the train finally arrived. Xu Qingqing was exhausted and walked unsteadily. She kept cursing Director Li and the others in her heart. Wasn't it better for her to stay in the propaganda department?

Xu Qingqing gritted her teeth, wishing she could immediately go and settle accounts with Director Li and the others, but when she thought about her current situation, she could only give up, which made her very unhappy.

After having a hearty meal at the state-run restaurant, I went back to my dormitory and fell asleep immediately, sleeping until the afternoon of the next day.

There was still some food Bo Jingran had prepared for her on the stove. After washing up, Xu Qingqing sat on a small stool and ate heartily, her eyes flashing with a fierce light as she prepared for tonight's operation.

On the other side, Secretary Lin kept sneezing and was unaware that Xu Qingqing had returned and was planning to stake out his location that night. He thought he had just caught a cold.

That evening, as Secretary Lin was walking home, a figure that was all too familiar suddenly appeared in front of him.

Secretary Lin had a bad feeling; why was Xu Qingqing back?

Xu Qingqing walked towards him with a sinister smile, holding a sack in her hand, approaching him step by step.

"Good evening, Secretary Lin. Why are you taking a walk here so late at night instead of sleeping? What if some thugs get angry and beat you up?" Xu Qingqing's tone was icy, and she stared fiercely at Secretary Lin.

Secretary Lin broke out in a cold sweat instantly, inwardly groaning. He thought Xu Qingqing wouldn't be back for a few days, and that he would then apply to his superiors to participate in the event, temporarily avoiding the situation for a while.

He was caught off guard when Xu Qingqing returned ahead of schedule.

Secretary Lin tried to struggle a bit more, but Xu Qingqing didn't give him a chance to speak. She put a sack over his head and started beating him.

There's another target waiting for me to deal with, so I don't have time to waste on him.
