The American cars were hung with the American flag fluttering in the wind to prove their identity. There were a lot of small things visible in the back of the cars, which made Shuo Yu envious. I don’t know how they put them all.
Two American soldiers, a captain named Arthur McLuhan, who might be a Catholic, and a sergeant named Alger Collins, who loved machinery and had never fought in a war,
The two Americans followed them back to their temporary base at the foot of the Jiqipo Mountain. There were already many temporary wooden houses on the base.
One of them was used by veterinarians to assist the wounded, with freshly washed white sheets and bandages fluttering outside. Another was Shuoyu's own, filled with the goods he'd bought from Milong. Maodou was lying on a tattered table in front of that room, basking in the sun. He opened his eyes when he heard the sound of a car, and whoosh whoosh whoosh! He bumped into Shuoyu as he got out of the car.
The amount of edamame has been getting heavier recently. The force of the edamame is like a full-scale cat cannonball.
The cannon fodder and the scum watched from a distance as the two Americans set up their tents and busied themselves with their work. The sergeant named Collins kept unloading things from the jeep: a gasoline stove, a radio, a coffee maker, folding chairs, military pots, guns and ammunition. Shuoyu even saw a picnic mat and other things. If it weren't for the guns and ammunition, he would have really thought the two Americans were here for tourism.
But Collins was the only one busy running around. Captain Mike, who was writing something on the side, didn't help at all. Shuoyu wanted to help him, but with the edamame on his shoulder, he was about to go over there, but was stopped by Milong who was squatting.
"If you're not Banxian'er, what are you doing?"
"I'll go help them. Aren't they here to help us, Captain?"
"Ah, yes, yes, Banxianer is right! Why don't you all use your brains to think about things? You should go too, go and help them, right? I'm still hoping to get some good things from them!" Silasila looked at Banxianer and seemed to suddenly remember something, and nodded, but except Shuoyu, no one moved, including Silasila himself.
"Aren't you really going to help them? You have to show off your skills first to see who is more powerful between the two of them?" Milong was very powerful. He had always wanted to show these two foreign Americans how powerful he was so that they would know who had the final say here.
"You can't beat any of them because you don't have chest hair!" Meng Fanle, who was hanging on a net and swinging back and forth while looking at Mi Longyou, spoke leisurely. Of course, he knew why the two Americans did this, but the truth always made him feel very uncomfortable.
"Even if he has tiger hair on his body, I will still beat him!" Milong squatted with a ferocious look on his face, waiting for an opportunity to strike, and then he was kicked by Shuoyu.
"Who are you going to do? Just stay still. I won't help you, but I won't cause any more trouble. I'm telling you!"
Shuoyu warned Milong harshly, wanting to establish his authority in front of the two new Americans. He patted the non-existent dust on his body. Since the captain had no objection, he went and looked at Collins who was moving around, and greeted him to show his friendliness, although this guy's previous behavior was very rude.
"Let me help you with that?" Shuoyu saw Collins trying to hold two things in one hand, and hurried over to help him.
"Hey, you can speak English, great! Thank you, my friend. I'm Alger Collins, Sergeant. Your cat is adorable." Collins didn't think anything of it. He just looked at the edamame on Shuoyu's shoulder and exclaimed in admiration.
"My name is Sakuyu, Captain, and his name is Maodou."
He helped Collins pull up their tent. Dog Meat also came over with Shuoyu, sniffing around. It was more curious about the two strangers. Maodou also got down from Shuoyu's shoulder and followed him to look at and smell the two strangers.
Compared to his silence towards these cannon fodder scum, McLuhan obviously seemed more friendly towards the two furry children, Dog Meat and Edamame, and even wanted to find something to feed the two little guys.
With Shuoyu's help, Collins' progress was obviously much faster. He finished the job in a short while. Maodou and Gourou surrounded Captain Mike on the other side, as if they were very curious about this guy who looked so different.
Dog Meat was crawling like the cannon fodder he was trying to scare the Sichuan Army. He bared his teeth and pretended to attack. McLuhan fell off his chair without paying attention, and the edamame landed on his head. Collins, who had come out of the tent, was so frightened that he pulled out his gun to shoot, but he was so frightened by Dog Meat's momentum that he couldn't even load the ammunition.
Shuoyu saw this scene and laughed, and shouted "Gourou come here, don't scare them". Gourou glanced at the two panicked people and thought it was meaningless, so he ran to Shuoyu obediently, licked his hand, and said that he didn't want to do anything else, he was just joking.
On the other side, Maodou was already impressed by McLuhan's superb cat-stroking technique, and ran into his arms, purring, wagging his tail, and closing his eyes to enjoy it.
"Herald, within three meters! Banxian'er, you come too, something's wrong." A dead sound suddenly rang out, and Shuoyu hurriedly followed.
Meng Fanle had just hung his head in the cracks of the net, like bacon in winter, trying to hang himself alive. Shuoyu passed by and helped him untie the coils that were twisted around his neck, listening to Fanle's mumbling complaints.
