Chapter 13 Chairman's Breakfast

Zenda's weather made this kind of fog very common, but this fog was definitely the heaviest Shuoyu had seen in the past few months. It was thick and looked like the opaque body of some creature, and they were walking in the body of this creature.

Even the fog could block out people's voices, making Shuoyu unable to hear clearly what the people in front of him were saying. He held the veterinarian in his left hand, and Kang Ya held the other hand tightly. He walked with difficulty, and the occasional cough was the only thing that could prove their existence.

Ayi didn't know why he came to Shuoyu and the others. He should have been in the front, as he was the battalion commander, but he was confused again. Maybe it was because he was really going to fight. As a commander who had never fought in a war,

The people who picked them up said that there would be a fully staffed battalion waiting for them when they arrived.

Ayi's trembling breath reached Shuoyu's neck.

"I'm the battalion commander. What does a battalion commander do?"

"What did you learn in Officer Training Corps? Didn't you get all those medals? Didn't they teach you what a battalion commander does?"

"Apart from practicing drills, we usually just...memorize some quotations."

"I've seen many officers like this, really many." Meng Fanle's tone had never been so sincere. Shuo Yu couldn't see his eyes clearly, so he just gave him a look.

"There's no such thing in this world. You, someone who's never fought a war, are being asked to lead everyone into battle. This isn't how things should be, Ayi."

"Yes...yeah, so what should I do?"

"Your uncle's battalion commander, didn't the guy who told you you were the battalion commander tell you what to do?"

"He asked me to supervise the battle, but what does it mean to supervise the battle?"

Even though Shuoyu couldn't see Ayi's eyes, he could still predict the helplessness in his eyes. He patted his shoulder to encourage him.

Because Ayi's voice was a little loud just now, the people closest to him heard what he said. Apparently, they had no good memories of the word "supervising the battle", so they treated Ayi even more indifferently.

As they were still walking, Shuoyu tore off the corner of his clothes and gave it to Kangya, making up some nonsense to make him believe that it was some kind of life-saving talisman so that he would let go of his hand.

Then he freed his hands and grabbed Ayi, pulling his head while walking. This action was a bit too intimate for Ayi, so that he struggled a little.

"Ayi, supervising the battle means that you should use your personal charm to encourage everyone, inspire them to fight, and supervise the battle. Yes, that's right."

"ah?"

Ayi didn't quite believe it, so Shuoyu pulled Meng Fanle, who was walking in front of him and laughing secretly.

"I'm tired of it. Do you think I'm right?"

"Yes, Master, I think you're absolutely right! That's exactly what I meant, really."

Ayi began to believe it a little bit. Shuoyu pulled him over and asked all the guys who had eaten "pork and cabbage stewed with vermicelli" together. He used the same trick with his hands to pinch their thighs hard, and then no one disagreed with his statement.

Ayi finally believed it, and encouraged himself and told them that he would do it well, and he looked very excited.

Shuo Yu was just thankful that the fog was thick enough so that A Yi couldn't see his little movements.

They finally arrived at their destination, a small "tarmac" that had obviously been recently built. The huge sound of airplane engines filled their ears. It was an American plane. The most obvious symbol was a poster-like American woman with very little clothing painted on it. No one passed by without looking at "her".

Novelty, strangeness and uncertainty surrounded everyone's heart. When everyone saw "her" within their sight, they all marveled at this behemoth.

Ayi pointed at the woman on it and said happily, "This must be a plane belonging to America's allies!"

Kang Ya had seen Japanese fighter planes before, so she showed everyone the sound of machine guns.

The propeller of the plane made the fog in the small open space around disappear. Doubing was frightened by Kang Ya's description and hid behind Yao Ma's back, and then was hit on the head by Yao Ma.

The only one among them who had some knowledge about this thing was Meng Fanle, who came from a well-educated family and had been influenced by his father when he was young. He introduced it to this group of ignorant people.

"This is a C46, a transport plane. It doesn't have machine guns. It belongs to the Air Force contingent stationed in China."

Some of them had also experienced being shot down by the Japanese planes, so they were a little excited about this "our" plane, and a mess of voices came out from different mouths.

Milong thought that flying meant sitting on the two big wings of the plane, so he asked if there were any handles and where to sit.

He was chased away by an officer standing next to the plane, who was estimated to be a major, but this still couldn't suppress his excitement.

The next thing the major said to them was,

"Take it off, take it all off!"

Except for Shuoyu, everyone else started to "obediently" take off their clothes. Shuoyu didn't want to take off his clothes because his clothes were still clean, and he was not mentally prepared to meet Meng Fanle and the others naked.

The major walked up to him, pulled out the pistol from his waist and put it against Shuoyu's chin.

"Take it off!"

The ones taking off their clothes were laughing. Shuoyu didn't want to know what they were laughing at. He just wanted to make this guy in front of him easier.

"Sir, please give me a favor."

Unfortunately, he had nothing to persuade this stranger to give in, so a loaded gun was now pointed at his head.
