Flies were flying around them, and after being driven away by Shuoyu, they flew back reluctantly, buzzing above their heads and in front of their eyes.
"Very young?"
"That's right, he was a lieutenant colonel, a graduate of the Imperial Army Academy, with a distinguished background and a bright future. I didn't expect him to be killed by someone like you."
It was hard to tell whether Meng was annoyed or not. Someone was pulling at his shoulders, and a hand stretched out from above, waving a small silver fork with a can of food freshly dug out of a dead body, and handed it to his mouth, so that he could quiet his bad mouth.
Their leader, in the moonlight that finally appeared, looked at the spoils he had captured, the jammed Nambu pistol, but he didn't look at the unlucky man he had killed.
"This guy must be a deputy. Didn't you see they're all calm? They think they're sure to win and come here to gain experience and gain military merit. Look at my head, they must be green!"
I have a can of food in my mouth and no time to reply.
"Captain, I have seized two boxes of Type 92 bullets, which we should be able to use." Shuo Yu reported his spoils of war, which were things they could use.
There was still sweat on Long Wenjian's head from the fight. He gave Shuo Yu a thumbs up and said, "Great, great!"
Within a few minutes, they recaptured their position with their beast-like reckless attacks. During this night, until dawn, they blocked a total of 16 enemy attacks.
Shuo Yu carried Fanla and followed behind their leader, watching him fiddling with his Nambu, which looked more like an ornament than a service gun. Perhaps it was because he looked too much like an ornament that the bullet jammed at the critical moment.
Wherever Shuo Yu looked, there were corpses everywhere. Theirs, ours, were piled together and it was impossible to tell them apart.
Long Wenjian pulled the jammed bullet out of the pistol and found a rope to hang it around his neck. Shuo Yu thought it was very memorable and that maybe he should get something for himself so that he would not forget what happened at Nantianmen.
But he stood up and looked around for a long time, looking around blankly, like a huge target. The enemy's bullets flew over his head without even hurting a hair. Instead, Fanla was so scared that he quickly pounced on him. The rat's eyes were wide open.
"What are you doing? You don't want to die, do you?"
Fanla's angry face was so obvious to Shuoyu that he could even see the tiny scar on his left cheek. He moved his lips to say something, but was stuffed with a biscuit. It came from Kangya, who often took advantage of him and benefited from him. He was unfortunately injured in the battle just now, but fortunately it was only a minor injury. Now he was like a maggot, wriggling to find his maggot brothers.
As Shuo Yu was eating, he suddenly remembered that he hadn't eaten a single bite of food since he set foot in this foreign land, and he even rarely drank water.
The biscuit wasn't very big, but Shuoyu devoured it in no time. Fanla thought he was starving and kept yelling, "Anything else?!"
Kang Ya shook his head. He only had this one biscuit. He would not have any more.
Fanla started to search his already limited pockets to find something to chew and pass it to Shuoyu's mouth. He found sadly that he had nothing on him except rags covered with dirt and cannon fodder. He was not hungry because he had just eaten a can of food that Shuoyu gave him.
On the other side, Ayi and Bula Yaoma were still frantically trying to save the veterinarian who had fainted due to breathing too much tear gas.
When Fanla wandered over, he finally provided a practical solution, which was to throw water on him.
"He's not dead, he's been knocked unconscious by the tear gas. Pour water on him!"
Then Fanla asked all the people he knew and didn't know if they had anything to eat.
Now Shuoyu was left with only Kang Ya. He glanced at Kang Ya's chest. The bullet had passed through his chest from the side, but it was nothing serious, just a skin break. He was quite a lucky guy.
"Kang Ya, does it hurt? I hope it won't delay your driving?" Shuo Yu leaned on it, looking at the devastation not far away.
"No, no, I'm fine. I definitely won't be delayed from driving."
Shuoyu half-closed his eyes, and lay down with Kangya in the temporary trench they had made with the shell crater, his eyes looking at the stars in the sky.
"We'll get you whatever car we have. Then you'll be our group's driver. It's not an easy job, is it?"
"What's the big deal? Just a car to drive. Then I'll show you guys some skills."
"You're also a gray mouse now~!"
Shuo Yu leaned against Kang Ya, listening to him mumbling to himself about his life when Kang Ya was rich as soon as the accelerator clicked, and fell asleep after an unknown amount of time.
When he woke up again, the sun had already risen slightly in the east. A group of people surrounded him, not knowing what they were looking at. He turned his head to look at the veterinarian closest to him, and said with a smile on his face,
"Dad, what are you doing around me?"
Milong was the first to react and waved his hand.
"You idiot, I told you he was fine, not even injured, why are you wasting my time? I still need to go pick up bullets!"
Milong, with a frown on his face, pulled Doubing away, who was about to say something. The veterinarian asked Shuoyu to stick out his tongue for him to see. When Shuoyu looked over, Fanla quickly turned his eyes away, pretending to be nonchalant.
Ayi had an overjoyed expression.
