Chapter 7: Pork and Cabbage Stewed with Vermicelli

Shuoyu spoke Northeastern dialect not very fluently.

He was not like Kang Ya and the others who would throw away the sticks in their hands when they saw Milong coming, and would just run away. Looking at Milong's face covered with tears from his scolding and the tattoo on his back covered with sweat, he continued to speak.

"No one here wants to go, including yourself, Milong. You know that very well, don't you?"

"You stinking fortune teller, believe it or not, I will kill you! You, you are all worthless, you are worthless, you are all heartless people--!"

Shuoyu asked Ayi and Kangya to help Yangdanzi up and take him to the veterinarian to fix his bones. He confronted the angry Northeastern guy. People around were watching the excitement, but both sides knew who would win in the end.

Even Milong knew it in his heart, and the key point was that he no longer wanted to fight. He had been defeated from the northernmost part to the southernmost part. How could he not desire a victory?

He wanted to kill the Japanese and avenge himself more than anyone else. His ancestral graves had been bombed by the Japanese, but he no longer dared to think about it, even though his heart was still burning with anger.

He had suffered enough defeats and didn't want to go and die again. As long as he didn't go, he could live a good life.

Finally, Milong bumped himself into Shuoyu and returned to his own room. Shuoyu dispersed the group of people who were watching the fun, and everyone went back to do what they had to do.

Meng Fanle and his group had a food-hunting group. Since they had no money, the only thing they had was this small group of people who looked quite imposing, but they were just there to keep up appearances. Shuoyu believed that as long as the other side became a little stronger, this group of people would quickly scatter like birds and beasts.

What surprised Shuoyu was that the leader of the food-hunting team was Ayi, and the deputy leader was Meng Fanle.

He lay on a big rock, with one eye open, watching them gather together for a small meeting to organize what to eat today. Ayi turned around and wrote something on a board. This was his sense of ritual, but the few people sitting below obviously did not agree with this sense of ritual. They sat together and complained.

Snake Butt knocked Doubing's head out of boredom. If he wanted to be numb, he would only allow him to bully Doubing. If he wanted to fight with the Cantonese guy,

Ayi was not used to this kind of situation. Even though he wanted to show his leadership from the bottom of his heart, it seemed that this kind of thing did not exist in his body at all. He wanted to find someone to help him. His first choice was his deputy team leader Meng Fanle, but Meng Fanle was still absent-minded because he was going to die in Myanmar.

He looked at Shuoyu who was sitting on a rock not far away with his eyes closed. He suspected that Shuoyu had fallen asleep, but he didn't feel like disturbing her.

So in the end he had to try hard to make his expression look more natural, but his voice revealed his inner abnormality, his voice was so sharp that it seemed like it was about to break at any moment, and he uttered a series of untuned opening remarks.

"Our army is about to achieve a great victory. My friend above me told me that it is undeniable... our iron army of China, the allies of America and England... an iron stream... this is an iron stream... I am sure that this iron stream... this iron stream, in the future, I am sure, will definitely converge into a torrent!"

Shuoyu smiled secretly with his eyes closed, Maodou yawned with his mouth open, and continued to sleep in Shuoyu's legs.

Kang Ya looked at his feet, which were the same color as the ground, and wanted to know who A Yi's friend was. Was it the God that Shuo Yu mentioned? He also wanted to meet some of the friends above.

Snake Butt waved his kitchen knife and asked, "What are we having for dinner today?"

Doubing always had a smiling face when he looked at Ayi, although he didn't understand a word Ayi said. Then Yaoma hit him on the head and told him about the "Cat God" and "Master Zhao" in Sichuan and Chongqing. While speaking, he glanced at Shuoyu behind him.

As soon as Ayi finished speaking, he was interrupted and insulted by Milong, which made him look even more embarrassed. Milong closed his eyes and lay on his hammock, not knowing what he was thinking.

No one cared about Ayi's opening remarks. Everyone just wanted to know what they were going to eat today. Ayi finally revealed the board behind him. Illiterate people like Doubing Yaoma looked at it blankly, not understanding what it meant. Semi-literate people like Kang Ya picked out the words he knew and read them one by one. Liberal people like Meng Fanle, the veterinarian, were even more stunned, blinking their eyes at the words written on it.

Of course, this also includes Shuoyu.

He had distributed most of the money he had robbed Zhu San of last time with his "kindness". It was also a quiet night. He distributed money to every household in Zenda City. He gave more to those with many elderly people and children, and less to those who were strong and healthy.

The amount given is not much, but it adds up to a lot. Recently, the legend of the appearance of the God of Wealth has begun to spread in Zenda City.

Shuo Yu opened one eye and looked at the traditional Chinese characters on the board. [Pork, Cabbage and Vermicelli Stew], just a few words made his mouth water. He had never thought that this dish was anything special before, but when he saw it again, he suddenly felt as if he was in another world.

It was a taste that had been buried deep in his memory for so long that even his own tongue had almost forgotten it, but his brain still remembered it and recalled the taste to him over and over again. In fact, he preferred sauerkraut and pork stewed with vermicelli, but unfortunately, even cabbage was a luxury in this place, let alone the Northeastern sauerkraut.

In the silence of the crowd, Ayi explained to everyone word by word.

"Cabbage, pork, and vermicelli stew."

As he explained, more and more people gathered around him, their eyes filled with desire and disbelief, especially Li Wula's.

Shuoyu closed his eyes and pretended not to see.
