There were three men in the small jeep. Shuoyu jumped out of the car when entering Zenda City. He was going to look for Maodou and Fanla Milong, but they were not going to the same place. They just agreed to wait for him at the town gate.
Shuoyu actually didn't know where to find Maodou. After all, Maodou always came to find him, so he had to get other things. He couldn't take the eight words that Ayi had written to him with him when he went to Myanmar.
So he had no choice but to write down the eight characters and keep them carefully. He placed them under the flower tree where Ayi had been in the old shelter. He found a box to prevent it from getting damaged. He still remembered how to get there, so he strolled along and said hello to a few men, women, and children he knew, and finally arrived at the old shelter.
But the place was empty, with no one there. Yu Xiaoqing was now preparing for war, and he had sent two and a half men to serve as soldiers. Some people were surprised, but when he entered, he saw Maodou sleeping on the big rock in the middle of the yard.
Shuoyu walked over, squatted beside the stone, and looked at Maodou, meeting his round green eyes. He asked Maodou if he would like to go up to the flag-offering slope with him and be his house-guarding cat. The cat responded with an anxious look, saying, "Man, why are you here just now? I've been waiting for you for a long time!"
The cat fist was waving, and Shuoyu had to cover his face with his hands and endure it. After Maodou had vented his anger, the kitten jumped on Shuoyu's head without any courtesy, stretched out its claws and meowed, saying "Hurry up and set off, people!", and followed him back to the flag slope position.
The night wind was very cool. Fanla's face was filled with distress, and his chest was bulging with something unknown. Shuoyu didn't know why he was like this, but Milong's face was still happy. There were several boxes of goods in the back of their car, as well as clothes that their group had outsourced to patch for Xiaozui.
The dinner that night at Jiqipo was fish soup and steamed buns. Shuoyu put a lot of yeast in it. He thought it was because of this that the buns were all big, loose and porous. At least just looking at them made people feel full.
The fish soup was because Maodou came home today. The cat and the dog stood beside Shuoyu's stove, watching him make fish soup together. Shuoyu caught the fish in the Nujiang River with a net after he came back. Maybe some of them will be national protected animals in a few decades, but now he just wants to say,
"This fish is so fresh~!"
Everyone agreed with him as the boiling, fresh, milky-white fish soup slid into their stomachs. The Shuoyu soup had even melted the fish bones, so it wouldn't prick anyone. It was incredibly smooth. The green wild vegetables floating in the soup were also fresh, tender, crisp, and juicy. They had almost dug up all the wild vegetables nearby, and they wouldn't grow back until tomorrow, spring.
The reason why they ate so well today was because their leader said they needed to build a house tomorrow, which required strength. Shuo Yu thought it made sense, although he didn't know why they needed to build a house. Maybe it was because we were really human beings, not some kind of rats that were good at digging holes?
The process of building something from scratch was really difficult, but fortunately they had a lot of manpower, and it took them three days to finally build a prototype, and another three days to finally turn it into a place that looked habitable, like a campsite should look like.
Shuoyu even planted a few flowers from the mountains under the eaves. I don't know what kind they are, but the colorful flowers complement each other and look very beautiful, which also adds a touch of fun to life.
They dug out useful things from among the houses in Zenda that had been shattered by the Japanese artillery shells. The legless table became a bed board, the table with a missing corner became a large stool, and the burnt quilt became a mattress...
Green mountains and clear waters, this is their eternal home, the home of their Sichuan Army Corps, so he tried his best to use his own aesthetics to make their shabby home look better.
The corners are full of flowers, the corridors are full of green grass, and of course pest control is also essential.
"I say, after eating my food, you should work hard, right? Brothers, can you give it a try?" Shuo Yu directed the people to work carefully, and of course he was working too.
"Work! Hurry up and work! Coolies, work faster!" Milong acted as if everyone was a farmhand working for him, the landlord. When Shuoyu passed by and kicked him, he changed his tone to a low scolding.
They searched for useful things among the rubble and built a house bit by bit. Although they looked a bit like rag collectors, or according to Fanla, they were not even as good as rag collectors, and even worse than the foraging group before they went to Myanmar. When Shuoyu passed by, he slapped his head mercilessly and said nothing, and just worked honestly.
Shuoyu was checking up and down to see if there were any holes, and he was pulling the rain cloth over the eaves when he heard a gunshot behind him. The guys around him, who had been frightened like frightened birds by their leader in recent days, immediately picked up their guns and began to prepare for battle. They thought that the enemy on the other side had rushed up again. Milong shouted, "Where is his machine gun?" Doubing hurried over to him and found cover with him.
He knew it was impossible. The Japanese on the other side had suffered heavy losses last time. Old Takeuchi's commander did not agree with his attack plan, and even the supplies given to him had become less. He had not been there for several days.
He looked at the guys in front of him, one by one, who immediately prepared for battle in the shortest possible time and found a shelter for themselves. He felt that their commander had really achieved the result he wanted. He had a whole regiment of soldiers who became nervous when they heard gunshots. He should be proud.
