Chapter 132 An'an's Depression

Suddenly, a loud "bang!" rang out, as if something had hit the table.

Liu Yang gasped in fright, immediately held his breath, and raised his hand to knock on the door to inquire about the situation. However, upon thinking of the regimental commander's livid face, he immediately withdrew his hand.

A person was pacing anxiously at the door.

He had been following the regimental commander for several years, and even when faced with the most difficult military situations, he could remain calm and composed. I had never seen him experience such a strong emotional fluctuation.

Could it be a private matter?

Liu Yang, who was wandering around aimlessly, accidentally kicked the corner of the wall. His toes stung, and he couldn't help but cry out in surprise.

The door was pulled open the next second, and the guild leader stood in the doorway with a cold expression. "What are you doing standing in the doorway?" His voice was icy, like a thousand-year-old block of ice.

Ignoring his foot pain, Liu Yang quickly stood up straight and said, "Reporting to the commander, I'll leave now."

He turned back after taking only a couple of steps. "Commander, do you want me to get you some food?"

Li Hanting's face seemed to darken even more, and he gritted his teeth and blurted out, "No need."

Then he slammed the door shut with a loud bang that sent a chill down my spine.

Liu Yang was taken aback. He patted his chest. Why did it seem like the commander was even angrier?

Did he say something wrong?

As time passed, Su Jingjing would occasionally glance at the clock on the wall. It was almost midnight. Had A-Ting not finished yet?

"Mommy, isn't Daddy back yet? Yuanyuan is so hungry."

Li Yuanyuan put down her paintbrush, went to her mother's side, and gently shook her hand.

Su Jingjing bent down and picked up Yuanyuan, touching her belly.

It's no wonder the kids were hungry; it had been a long time since breakfast. Lately, both kids have been eating on time every day, so it was already lunchtime.

Ah Ting is probably too busy.

"Then let's eat first, we won't wait for Dad."

Su Jingjing placed Yuanyuan on another chair and called An'an over to eat.

After the meal, the two children eagerly offered to help her clear the table.

Su Jingjing could handle it by herself, so she let the two children go downstairs to digest their food, as long as they didn't do any strenuous exercise.

Downstairs in the family compound, a group of boys were playing a drinking game, while girls watched from the sidelines, chattering away in a lively, bustling crowd.

Liang Dapang was all show and no substance, all muscle and no brains. He was no match for anyone in the rock-paper-scissors game. He lost several rounds in a row and became so anxious that his face turned red.

When he unexpectedly saw An An appear, his eyes lit up and he immediately waved and called out to him.

"An'an, here."

When Li Cheng'an saw Liang Dapang's exaggerated smile, he immediately knew that Liang needed help.

"An'an, come help me quickly."

In his heart, An'an was like a boss, all-powerful and very smart.

"Fatty, why are you cheating?"

Seeing that An'an was about to take action, how could Xiao Yang agree? Everyone knew that An'an was a strongman.

He just won Liang Dapang's fruit candy, and before he could even enjoy it, was he going to lose it all back?

Now that Liang Dapang had a powerful backer, he spoke with great confidence, "Who, who cheated? Are you afraid An'an will beat you?"

While they were talking, his eyes were fixed on the fruit candy in Xiao Yang's hand; it was his candy.

He didn't get a single piece of candy and lost everything; he couldn't swallow his pride.

"Stop trying to provoke me with An'an. If you're so capable, go and play yourself."

Li Chengan watched them argue quietly, and only spoke up to stop them when things had gotten heated enough, saying, "I'm not playing, you guys play."

I'm in a bad mood today, and I'm not interested in doing anything.

After saying that, he walked to a quieter place to sit down and keep an eye on his younger sister.

ah?

Liang Dapang was dumbfounded. He turned around and chased after An'an, then plopped down next to him.

But this is also like An An's style.

Suddenly, I remembered what my mother had said yesterday, "By the way, An'an, your father carried a big box yesterday. What was inside?"

No one dislikes television, and Li Cheng'an certainly doesn't want a group of people camping out in front of his house in the future.

He glanced at the fat man and casually said, "It's nothing, it's a military secret."

"Oh." Fatty Liang believed it, completely naive.

My father said that military secrets should not be inquired about.

Half an hour later, An'an and Yuanyuan returned.

Yuan Yuan rubbed her eyes while calling for her mother in a childish voice.

Are you sleepy?

Su Jingjing stopped what she was doing, stroked her daughter's little head, and smiled gently.

"Okay, Mommy will carry you back to your room to sleep."

Li Yuanyuan leaned contentedly on her mother's shoulder.

Su Jingjing took a few steps and noticed that An'an hadn't followed. "An'an, go back to your room for a nap."

Li Cheng'an concealed the emotions in his eyes and followed behind his mother.

A woman's soft voice came from the small room.

Su Jingjing sat on the edge of the bed, holding a storybook in her hand, and read stories to the children in a clear and melodious voice.

She closed the book only after the two children's breathing had gradually stabilized, then covered them with blankets and tiptoed out.

While the children were asleep, Su Jingjing took out the manuscript and began to translate.

Time flies when you're focused on something.

The room wasn't very soundproof, and since the door was open, Su Jingjing quickly heard her daughter's voice coming from the next room.

I quickly tidied up the papers on the table and went to the next room.

The two little ones on the bed seemed to be still half asleep, their eyes wide open and their hair standing straight up on their heads.

As soon as she saw her appear, Yuanyuan waved her little hand.

"Mommy, hug me."

How could anyone not love such an adorable little dumpling?

The little dumpling nestled on her shoulder found the perfect spot, indicating it wasn't fully awake yet.

"Do you want to continue sleeping?"

An hour has passed, and I can't sleep for too long at noon, so I have trouble falling asleep at night.

Li Yuanyuan smiled and said, "Mom, I'm awake."

Su Jingjing had the two children stand in front of the sink, wrung out the towels, and wiped their faces to refresh them.

"Mom, I want to watch TV for a while."

Li Yuanyuan raised her little face and asked her mother for her opinion.

"Okay, let's keep track of the time with brother."

Su Jingjing stipulated that they could not watch TV for more than half an hour, and they could not sit too close to each other.

Having not tended to the vegetable garden for a while, Su Jingjing had some free time today. She told the children and then grabbed her tools and headed out.

The sun was setting, making the vegetable garden quite shady.

Su Jingjing walked to her own vegetable garden and saw Sister Qiu Rong bending over to water the vegetables.

She quickly greeted her, "Sister-in-law Qiu Rong, are you busy?"

Huang Qiurong straightened up and, upon seeing that the person who came was Su Jingjing, said with a smile, "Yes, it's been a long time since I've seen you out and about."

It seems that after Jingjing changed, she became much more of a homebody.

I don't know what they're busy with at home.

Su Jingjing touched the tip of her nose. "You know, I don't get along with them."

Huang Qiurong understood what the other person meant, so she stopped talking about it.

"By the way, there's something I'm not sure if I should say, it's about your Commander Li."

Ah Ting?

Su Jingjing was stunned for a moment, then immediately came to her senses. "Sister-in-law Qiu Rong, it's okay to say it."
