Chapter 151 Granny Wang's Tantrum

"Mom, Xiaoyun is still young."

Yan Yikuan picked up his daughter and gently comforted her, "Don't be afraid, Mommy and Daddy will never leave you."

But he doesn't seem to know how to coax children; his hands and feet are stiff.

He Zhaodi ran out of the kitchen and saw her daughter's face covered in tears; her heart ached.

She walked over to her husband, took her daughter from him, and said, "Mommy will hold you."

"Mother…"

Yan Xiaoyun looked up at her mother with her big, watery eyes and reached out to hug her.

"Go inside with Mom to cook."

He Zhaodi gently wiped her daughter's face and carried her to the kitchen.

The house isn't soundproof, so she heard what her mother-in-law said earlier.

This is the kind of thing a mother-in-law would do, but He Zhaodi had already sworn that she would never separate from her daughter; her daughter was her life.

She simply couldn't imagine what life would be like if her daughter went back to the countryside with her mother-in-law.

It was only with great difficulty that her life as a mother and daughter had finally gotten back on track, and she really didn't want to have to live under her mother-in-law's thumb.

If Yi Kuan really... really agrees, then they will have no choice but to divorce.

After his wife went into the kitchen, Yan Yikuan looked up at his mother and raised his voice, "Mom, don't say things like that again. Wherever I am, Xiaoyun will be there too."

"I don't ask you to like her, but please, for the sake of her being my daughter, don't hurt her."

When had Granny Wang ever been treated like this? Even in front of her fierce eldest daughter-in-law, she remained arrogant and domineering.

"I have such a hard life. The son I raised with such care is so unfilial. I should never have had him."

Her blood pressure spiked immediately after her son's retort, and she almost sat down on the ground.

Yan Yikuan was already tired of his mother's usual methods.

"Mom, this is the military base, not the countryside. If you cry or make a fuss, people outside can hear you."

"Do you want me to lose my job and go back to farming with you?"

Granny Wang's wailing stopped abruptly. To be honest, the only thing she could boast about in the countryside was having a son who was a military officer.

If her son goes back to the countryside, countless people will laugh at her.

Thinking of this, she stopped throwing a tantrum on the ground.

After his mother calmed down, Yan Yikuan asked, "Which leader did you just say you were going to sue?"

Since his mother arrived, he has apologized countless times and lost all face.

"It's nothing, just saying."

Seeing that her son wouldn't let it go, Granny Wang dared not tell the truth anymore.

At this moment, He Zhaodi stood at the kitchen door and told them about stealing the vegetables.

After she finished speaking, she was bound to be scolded by her mother-in-law, but she was not afraid. First, Jingjing was her friend, and she did not want to lose her friend. Second, this concerned Yikuan's career, and she could not gamble with it.

Yan Yi shouted sternly, "Mom, don't mention Zhao Di anymore."

"This was your fault to begin with. Didn't I tell you not to steal vegetables? And you even stole from the team leader's house?"

The regimental commander was the person he respected most; how could his mother do such a thing?

"We have plenty of food at home, so why can't you change this habit?"

He couldn't help but say it a little too harshly, but if he had just brushed it off lightly, his mother wouldn't have taken it seriously at all.

"Are you going to say your mother is a repeat offender? I'm just doing this for your own good, to save you some money."

Granny Wang believed she had done nothing wrong; she was only thinking of her son.

Yan Yikuan didn't want to say much, "If this continues, then you should go back to the countryside."

Not only was Granny Wang dumbfounded, but even He Zhaodi was somewhat surprised, because she knew that her husband still cared about his mother.

"You want to kick me out?"

Granny Wang looked incredulous; if her son sent her back, she would lose all face.

Yan Yikuan remained silent, his face still stern.

He then told his wife to go into the kitchen to cook, and he took his daughter into the room, leaving Granny Wang standing in the living room in a mess.

With only a door separating them, you can definitely hear the sound if it's a little loud.

Yan Ling clapped her hands happily, "This kind of wicked person should be dealt with by her son."

"Fortunately, this child is sensible, otherwise Zhaodi's life would be very difficult."

"What are you laughing at?"

Su Xiang had just brought An'an and Yuan Yuan home for dinner when he heard his wife's maniacal laughter before he even entered the house.

Yan Ling pulled An'an and Yuanyuan into her arms, "Aren't they just like that old woman from across the street?"

Then recounted everything that happened that day.

Su Xiang looked serious; he was worried that his daughter wouldn't be able to handle such a person.

In a couple of days, he and his wife will be going back to their hometown.

"Don't make a scene. Your status as a son-in-law is what it is."

"I know that."

Yan Ling nodded. After staying here for a few days, she discovered some suspicious things.

The women in the family compound are not easy to get along with. They gossip about everything under the sun. Wherever there are women, there is gossip.

More importantly, there were other women who liked her son-in-law, something she didn't dare tell her father-in-law. However, Jingjing didn't seem to care, and since her son-in-law devoted himself entirely to her daughter, she felt at ease.

"It must be Dad coming back."

Just then, there was a noise at the door, and Li Yuanyuan skipped and hopped to the door.

As soon as Li Hanting entered, there was a pendant stuck to his leg.

"Come here, let Daddy hug you."

He picked up his daughter and walked in, greeting his parents-in-law.

"Mom and Dad."

Yan Ling smiled and said, "Oh, you're back. Let's eat."

She was increasingly pleased with her son-in-law; the two of them were now a perfect match.

She wanted to see if anyone else was so blind as to say that Jing was not good enough for her son-in-law.

The family enjoyed a happy dinner together.

In the evening, Su Jingjing sat on the bed reading a book after taking a shower.

Her parents were still watching TV in the living room. She had originally intended to watch TV with them, but her mother sent her back to her room.

They called it cultivating a relationship with Ah Ting.

Perhaps all mothers in the world want their daughters and sons-in-law to have a happy life together.

Li Hanting came out of the bathroom and saw his parents watching TV, but his wife was nowhere to be seen.

"Mom and Dad, where's Jingjing?"

Yan Ling pointed in a certain direction, "They're in the room."

Li Hanting knew that his wife had been sent back to her room by her mother.

Nodding, she said with concern, "Mom and Dad, you should go to bed early too."

"Okay, okay."

Yan Ling said "good" several times in a row.

Li Hanting pushed open the door and saw his wife sitting on the bed reading a book.

She went around to the other side, pulled the blanket over herself, and sat down.

He habitually put his arm around his wife's slender waist and asked, "Honey, did something happen between you two today?"

How did you figure that out?

Su Jingjing put the book aside and looked up at A Ting.

Li Hanting raised an eyebrow, and his wife lowered her head in embarrassment, slowly recounting the whole story.

He said firmly, "Wang Pozi is no match for Mom."

In the countryside, my mother-in-law is a formidable fighter; most people are no match for her.

Su Jingjing asked doubtfully, "Are you so sure?"
