"Hmm, are you feeling any better?" Li Hanting asked with concern, then picked him up and carried him in his arms.
Su Jingjing knew she was no match for A Ting, so she simply gave up the struggle.
After Ah Ting tucked the blanket into her bed, he got out of bed and started rummaging through the drawers. She couldn't help but ask, "Ah Ting, what are you looking for?" She leaned out slightly.
Li Hanting tilted his head and asked, "Wife, where did you put that ointment from last time?"
What ointment?
The next second, Su Jingjing came back to her senses, and her already bright red face seemed to have been covered with another layer of makeup.
"In the bottom drawer."
Li Hanting found it quickly and sat on the edge of the bed, saying, "Wife, let me apply the medicine for you, otherwise it will hurt a lot tomorrow."
"No, it's alright, I'm fine."
Afraid the man wouldn't believe her, she nodded along.
Then drowsiness came over me, and I thought, "I want to sleep." So I threw off the covers, lay down, closed my eyes, and tried to pretend to be asleep.
Li Hanting had no choice but to put the ointment aside, planning to apply it to her after she fell asleep.
Finally, I tucked the blanket around my wife one last time, then got up and went to the bathroom.
Although Su Jingjing had her eyes closed, her ears were very sharp.
As the man's footsteps faded into the distance, she relaxed and slowly drifted off to sleep.
Five minutes later, Li Hanting simply put on a pair of pajama bottoms and walked out with his chest bare.
Listening to his wife's soft breathing, he slowed his pace to her side, took the ointment, lifted the blanket, and lowered his head to reach out his hand.
His eyes were clear, but his disordered breathing betrayed his unease.
It took him about three minutes to withdraw his hand and quickly covered his wife with the blanket.
I took a deep breath and put the ointment away.
He lay down beside his wife, gently pulled her close, kissed her forehead tenderly, and they snuggled together and fell asleep.
