"Mommy, Mommy..."
You hear his voice before you see him.
Li Cheng'an muttered softly, "Little sister, keep your voice down, Mom might still be sleeping."
"That's right."
The silly Yuan Yuan was so frightened that she immediately covered her mouth.
So adorably silly!
Li Cheng'an shook his head. He would have to keep a close eye on his sister from now on, lest she be led astray by some scoundrel.
Despite saying that, Li Cheng'an still subconsciously scanned the living room and clearly did not see his mother.
Tsk, Dad must have really bullied Mom terribly.
He was torn about whether or not to tell his grandmother what had happened that day and ask her to deal with his father.
Hearing the children's voices from inside the room, Su Jingjing quickly tidied up the manuscripts on the table, opened the door, and came out.
"Baby, Mommy's here."
Li Yuanyuan's eyes lit up, and her pretty face beamed with joy. She quickly ran to her mother, "Mom, did Yuanyuan wake you up?"
The soft, sweet voice of her daughter made Su Jingjing blush immediately. What mother sleeps until this time?
"Actually, Mom woke up a while ago." She then changed the subject, "Weren't you and your brother playing downstairs? Why did you run upstairs?"
Unsurprisingly, Li Yuanyuan betrayed her brother, saying, "My brother was worried about you, so he pulled me up here."
Su Jingjing glanced at her sweet little boy and felt a warm glow in her heart. In winter, this would be more effective than wearing a thick cotton-padded coat.
Although An'an is young, she is very thoughtful, but she is rather reserved and doesn't express herself well.
Seeing his mother looking over, Li Cheng'an nervously looked away.
Su Jingjing smiled knowingly.
The little one sensibly took his mother's hand, urging her to sit down and rest, saying, "Mommy, please sit down."
Then I poured her some water.
Su Jingjing was bewildered by her daughter's actions. Had something major happened before she woke up?
Holding the cup in his hand, he asked in confusion, "What's wrong?"
The little guy said in a serious tone, "Mom, Dad said at noon that you were tired, so you can't stand for too long."
Little did she know how much impact those words had on her mother.
"Cough cough..."
Su Jingjing, who was drinking water, almost spat it out.
"Mom, drink slowly."
Like a little adult, Li Yuanyuan gently patted her mother's back.
"Um, did Dad really say that?"
She embarrassed herself in front of the children once again.
Su Jingjing didn't dare to look An'an in the eye, so she could only ask Yuanyuan.
Li Yuanyuan blinked her big eyes and said, "Mmm."
Forgetting her embarrassment, Su Jingjing suddenly remembered something, "Baby, no matter how late Mommy gets up in the future, you can't tell anyone about what's going on in our family."
She had previously told her two children not to tell anyone what they ate at home every day.
Su Jingjing wasn't worried about An'an, but she was worried that Yuanyuan was naive and might be deceived by others.
"Mom, my brother taught Yuanyuan that we can't tell anyone."
Su Jingjing was finally relieved. With An'an around, she really had much less to worry about.
Just then, there was a noise at the door.
She looked up in surprise, and a vague answer began to form in her mind.
The next second, the man walked in with an air of righteousness, his solemn expression still lingering.
It wasn't until the children called out "Dad" that Su Jingjing realized the man had walked up to her.
Concealing his shocked gaze, he moved his lips and asked, "You, how did you get back?"
It's only a little past four o'clock now, isn't it?
With the two children nearby, Li Hanting hesitated to say something, "I'll come back and cook dinner."
However, seeing his wife's rosy complexion, he finally felt relieved after a whole afternoon of worry.
ah?
Why would you come home so early to cook?
The next second, something seemed to come to mind for Su Jingjing, and her cheeks flushed a shy pink, making her look incredibly endearing.
Li Hanting's throat tightened, and he tugged at the button on his collar.
He forced himself to look away from his wife and said to the children, "Watch TV with Mom, Dad will cook."
"Yes, Father."
The little guy must have learned these mischievous words from somewhere, which made everyone laugh.
Even the usually serious Li Hanting smiled helplessly.
After the man walked into the kitchen, Su Jingjing smiled brightly, hugged her daughter tightly, and playfully pinched the tip of her nose, "Little rascal, where did you learn that?"
Li Yuanyuan covered her mouth and giggled, "Mom, I learned this from TV."
Su Jingjing was extremely grateful that television at that time was still relatively decent, unlike in later years when children would imitate inappropriate content out of curiosity.
After several rounds of guidance, Ah Ting's cooking skills improved significantly, and Su Jingjing felt completely at ease leaving the kitchen to him.
Since her body was still aching, she decided to treat it as punishment for Ah Ting.
From another perspective, this is also why she couldn't refuse Ah Ting; he would understand her in the smallest ways and would be willing to humble himself to coax her.
Hearing the voices of the mother and her two children in the living room, Li Hanting worked even harder.
The meal was simple, but the family of four enjoyed it immensely.
After dinner, An'an seemed to know that her father had something to say to her mother, so she took her younger sister downstairs to play.
"As expected of my son, he has a good eye."
As soon as his son left, Li Hanting brazenly put his arm around his wife's slender waist.
Su Jingjing raised an eyebrow and pretended to pinch the man's arm. "Tell me, is our son on your side?"
Otherwise, why would An'an and he be so in sync?
Sometimes she felt a little jealous of the chemistry between Ah Ting and An An. She knew she shouldn't be jealous, since she had treated An An the way she had before.
