Gu Shaokai ran to the training room in one breath, stood in front of the closed door to tidy his clothes, and then quietly opened a crack.
A beautiful figure was dancing, with a cool and aloof demeanor, a bright and lively expression, and she shone as she danced.
The girl's jet-black hair danced in the air as she spun, like black silk.
Gu Shaokai was stunned for a moment.
Gradually, Zhong Xinyi noticed something was wrong. She stopped spinning, turned around to look back, and the next second her body became unbalanced.
Just as she was about to fall, the man caught her, preventing her from making intimate contact with the ground.
Zhong Xinyi was on high alert and immediately jumped out of the man's arms.
How did you find this place?
She tidied her messy hair, trying to hide her embarrassment.
Gu Shaokai rubbed the lingering warmth between his fingers, staring intently at the young woman. "There's no place in the entire military region that I can't find."
Zhong Xinyi felt uncomfortable being stared at by the man, and now she couldn't dance anymore.
She simply put on her coat, and when she heard the man's narcissistic words, she gave him a disdainful look.
Gu Shaokai asked, "Why didn't you keep jumping?"
While packing her things, Zhong Xinyi answered the man's question, "I'm hungry, I want to go back for dinner."
He simply picked up his bag and walked out.
Fortunately, Gu Shaokai arrived in time, otherwise she would have forgotten to eat like yesterday, which would have made her unable to muster any energy for training in the afternoon.
Gu Shaokai quickly followed, "Where are you going?"
"The cafeteria." Zhong Xinyi stopped and raised her eyebrows to look at the man. "You're not coming along, are you?"
The canteen is always bustling with people. Soon everyone will know that Chief Gu's son is pursuing her. Will she still be able to live a peaceful life then?
Gu Shaokai raised an eyebrow. "I'm pursuing you, so of course I'll follow you wherever you go." His voice was slightly deep and magnetic.
Zhong Xinyi was speechless and asked the heavens, "Brother, is this how you pursue someone?"
With his hands clasped together, he pleaded, "Please, don't follow me. People will start gossiping again."
Gu Shaokai pressed further, "Who dares to say that about you?"
Who dares to gossip about his woman?
Zhong Xinyi secretly rolled her eyes and said firmly, "You should go back now. I need to rest after I finish eating. I have training this afternoon."
Just as she turned around, the man grabbed her wrist. "I'll take you out to eat."
"There aren't any good dishes left in the cafeteria right now."
Zhong Xinyi pulled the man's hand away, "No need, as long as I can fill my stomach, that's fine."
After saying that, he took off running, turning back to shout, "Don't follow me!"
Gu Shaokai really didn't follow her any further. Since the young woman was so shy, he had to consider her feelings.
He has more important things to do now.
Li Hanting handed the last document to Liu Yang, saying, "Liu, give this to Chief Gu."
"Yes, Commander."
Liu Yang grabbed the documents and headed out, only to bump into Gu Shaokai.
Gu Shaokai teased, "Xiao Liu, is the work not finished yet?"
Tsk tsk tsk, Brother Ting is too good at exploiting people.
Liu Yang answered truthfully, "Just hand the documents over to Chief Gu."
Upon hearing about the old man, Gu Shaokai quickly waved his hand and pulled over a chair to sit in front of Brother Ting.
Li Hanting took the military cap, glanced at his brother, and asked, "Still haven't found them?"
“Found it.” Gu Shaokai got straight to the point. “Brother Ting, I want to know if anyone in the military region is gossiping about Xinyi.”
Li Hanting hesitated for a moment, then remembered what his wife had said before speaking, "It seems so."
"He's just in a performing arts troupe, and I heard his surname is Hu. Are you going to go and settle scores with him?"
Someone surnamed Hu?
Gu Shaokai searched his memory and seemed to recall a few days ago when a woman surnamed Hu came up to him and said some incoherent things, which he then scolded and sent away.
If I'm not mistaken, it should be her.
She solemnly said to Brother Ting, "Brother, I can't let her suffer."
Then he got up and walked outside, seemingly to find someone to settle accounts with.
Li Hanting did not stop him; he knew that Akai knew what he was doing.
Li Family Compound
Su Jingjing was busy preparing lunch in the kitchen, and she reminded An'an to tutor Yuanyuan's homework.
Li Yuanyuan frowned, racking her brains over the questions in her notebook, unconsciously biting her pen.
Li Cheng'an reminded his sister, "Don't bite the pen tip, it's dirty."
"Brother, I can't."
My brother's questions were even harder than the teacher's.
Li Cheng'an looked at his younger sister with disappointment and frustration.
Oh no, my sister is not only lazy but also stupid.
"I'll teach you. If you figure out all the questions here, I'll reward you with candy."
My younger sister has been eating candy quite frequently lately, so Mom has already limited her sugar intake.
Hearing about candy, the little guy's eyes lit up for a second, then drooped again. "But, but the candy is with Mommy."
Li Cheng'an continued to coax, "Do you believe your brother?"
He went to great lengths so that his younger sister could learn a few more words.
The little guy nodded vigorously, "Yuanyuan trusts her brother the most."
"Come on, let's continue learning."
Su Jingjing stood at the kitchen doorway, watching the two little ones studying head to head, and chuckled softly.
An'an still has a solution.
Just then, there was a noise at the door. Li Yuanyuan tilted her head and said, "Brother, it must be Dad coming back."
Then she slid off the chair and wiggled her little bottom as she ran towards the door.
As soon as Li Hanting entered the room, a little dumpling hugged his leg.
"Daddy, Yuanyuan misses you."
His hardened heart softened instantly. "Come here, let Daddy give you a hug."
My daughter's small body finally has some plumpness.
"What do you and your brother do at home?"
Li Yuanyuan, despite her young age, sighed and leaned on her father's shoulder, looking particularly pitiful.
"Daddy, Yuanyuan is so pitiful."
Li Cheng'an's eyelids twitched, and he looked slightly uncomfortable. Seeing his mother serving dishes, he quickly went to help.
A smile appeared in Li Hanting's eyes, "Who made Daddy's little princess suffer?"
When the little one saw his mother appear, two blushes appeared on his tender face, and he immediately became shy.
Su Jingjing smiled charmingly, "Look, look." She gestured for A-Ting to look at the table, "An'an is tutoring Yuanyuan."
It's obvious the little one is a bit lazy; she seems to be a step behind everyone else in everything she does.
Li Hanting immediately understood and asked in a different way, "What did Yuanyuan learn today? Would you like to share it with Daddy?"
He only had one request for his daughter: that she be happy every day, and that they would take care of all her troubles.
Seeing that her father cared about her studies, Li Yuanyuan immediately transformed into a little scholar, chattering away to tell her father everything.
Su Jingjing and An'an exchanged a smile, both seeing helplessness in each other's eyes. "Let's finish eating and tell Dad slowly."
She took her daughter from Ah Ting and carried her straight to wash her hands.
The little one was talking enthusiastically when he suddenly fell into his mother's warm embrace and was obediently carried by his mother to wash his hands.
