Chapter 20 Two Little Ones Learn to Brush Their Teeth

The next day, when Li Yuanyuan opened her eyes, she saw that her brother was still fast asleep and seemed to be drooling. She covered her mouth and chuckled, then gently nudged her brother.

"Brother, brother, wake up."

Li Cheng'an was gnawing on a chicken leg when his sister interrupted him and snatched it away, which made him so angry that he immediately opened his eyes.

He then realized he was dreaming. Even in a dream, it would be nice to eat a big chicken leg. He had eaten it a few times at his grandma's house and still remembers it fondly.

Looking at his sister's innocent eyes, he felt a lump in his throat. After a moment, he said, "My dear sister, why are you up so early?"

Yuanyuan usually wakes up after him.

"Brother, get up and brush your teeth."

What?

Li Cheng'an was amused. "Oh my, my dear sister, you've taken to brushing your teeth?"

Actually, he really disliked the taste of toothpaste.

Li Yuanyuan pulled her brother's hand and tried to help him up, saying slowly and deliberately, "Brother, let's go brush our teeth together."

"Okay, okay."

Li Cheng'an was helpless against his sister; what could he do when he loved her so much?

Su Jingjing had just finished making breakfast when she saw the brother and sister come out of the room together. She subconsciously looked at the clock on the wall.

"Why are you up so early?"

Li Cheng'an was still yawning when the little guy said in a serious tone, "Mom, we need to brush our teeth."

Su Jingjing was immediately amused; the little guy was so persistent about brushing his teeth.

"Okay, Mom will take you there. I boiled eggs and steamed buns today, which are all your favorites."

When eggs and steamed buns are mentioned, Li Cheng'an immediately perks up and runs to the dining table, drooling over them.

The next second he realized that his movements were too exaggerated, especially when he met his mother's ambiguous smile. He jumped far away, his eyes blinking, and he said arrogantly.

"Today's breakfast was just so-so."

So-so?

My dear son, your mother got up early this morning to prepare.

Seeing the two little ones standing together brushing their teeth, and doing it so well, Su Jingjing's heart softened.

After washing up, Li Cheng'an was full of energy. Looking at the breakfast on the table, he swallowed hard. Before his mother could speak, he skillfully peeled the eggs.

I couldn't wait to take a bite of the egg white, and mmm... although it smelled a bit pungent, it was really delicious.

Li Yuanyuan dared not touch the egg, taking small bites of the bun in her mouth, staring longingly at her brother's blissful expression.

Su Jingjing also noticed Yuanyuan's little actions. She wanted to make the child completely trust her, but what she did last night was far from enough.

Then, without making a sound, he peeled the egg and handed it to the little guy's bowl, saying, "Here, have an egg."

Li Yuanyuan didn't expect her mother to peel eggs for her; she thought she wouldn't get any.

But if she eats it, what will her mother eat?

"Mom, do you have any eggs to eat?"

Upon hearing this question, Li Cheng'an almost choked. It seemed there were only two eggs in total. Why didn't she cook one for herself? No, she should have cooked two. Before, she was the only one who could eat eggs at home.

"Mom is on a diet, you guys eat."

The little guy is so cute, a stark contrast to the brat, who has his face covered in little kitten-like gravy.

After the meal, Su Jingjing tied two little pigtails on the little one's head, which made her look even cuter against her fair and pink face.

The two children carried their small bags and happily went to school.

Su Jingjing took a hoe and the seedlings to the vegetable garden, intending to pull out some wilted leaves and replant the seedlings.

It took an hour of continuous work to plant the seedlings, so it looks like it will be at least a month before we can eat fresh vegetables.

The sunlight under the blazing sun grew increasingly dazzling. Su Jingjing was covered in sweat. After quickly tidying herself up, she went up to the third floor.

This obese body simply can't withstand any strain; ultimately, it's due to a lack of exercise.

With nothing to do in the afternoon, Su Jingjing took the time to plan what she would need to buy on her next trip to the city.

Just after five o'clock, the door suddenly slammed shut. Su Jingjing turned her head and saw two children standing in the doorway, drenched in sweat.

She asked with slight surprise, "Why is school over so early?"

What I really want to ask is, why didn't you stay in Li Hanting's office?

Li Yuanyuan giggled, a shallow dimple appearing on her round face. She picked up her cute little finger and pointed to the two little pigtails on her head, "Mommy, braids."

Looking at the still unharmed little chick, Su Jingjing couldn't help but ask in confusion, "What happened to the braid?"

Is it not pretty? But it shouldn't be; Yuanyuan seems to like it.

The little one was so anxious that she couldn't speak coherently and couldn't utter a long sentence at once.

Li Cheng'an answered for his sister, "My sister meant that the other children envied her braids and hair ties."

Regardless, today was my sister's happiest day at kindergarten. Actually, my sister's innocent and naive nature makes her the easiest to be bullied, but luckily he's there to protect her at school.

Li Yuanyuan blinked her big eyes and nodded vigorously, as if to say that her brother was right.

Su Jingjing finally saw the little guy's genuine smile; it seems Yuanyuan is still the best way to win him over.

"Mom will give you another princess braid tomorrow, it will look just as pretty."

If she were to wear a princess dress with it, Yuanyuan would be even happier, but since she hasn't bought it yet, she can't say so right away.

"Go do your homework with your brother first, Mom will go cook."

When Su Jingjing returned from picking vegetables in the garden, Li Cheng'an stood like a statue at the kitchen door. She was slightly startled, "Why are you standing at the door? Where is my sister?"

The brat turned his face, his expression as serious as a cheetah, just like Li Hanting. No wonder they are father and son.

Su Jingjing felt uneasy under their gaze. She closed the door and walked to the kitchen doorway, where she saw a small, round figure diligently washing the pot.

She gasped and rushed forward to stop her, "Put Yuanyuan down."

Li Yuanyuan was startled and froze, her face turning pale, as if she was recalling some unpleasant experiences.

The little mouth explained softly, "Mom, I'll help you with the chores."

My mother said that as long as she behaves well, she will like her.

Her mother has been so kind to her these past few days, and she wants to repay her.

Su Jingjing put the pot aside. "Yuanyuan, you're still young. Didn't Mom say you can't do housework in the future? These are things adults do."

The trauma in a child's heart cannot be healed overnight. "Sweetie, come inside with your brother to do your homework."

Li Cheng'an breathed a sigh of relief. Although his younger sister was naive, she was very stubborn, and he couldn't stop her from doing chores at all.

Su Jingjing clearly noticed that she had lost two pounds, but in order to lose weight quickly, she not only restricted her diet but also exercised more.

The next day, she opened her eyes the moment Li Hanting left the house, then got up to wash and get ready. Fortunately, it was summer, so her difficulty getting up in the morning wasn't too bad.

This is a military region, so she didn't dare to cross any boundaries. She just ran on the path near the family compound.

After running for a while, the path remained quiet, with only Su Jingjing's slightly panting voice.

Phew, it seems I still need to exercise regularly. Although I'm drenched in sweat, I feel refreshed all over.
