Gu Shaokai's voice was hoarse, and his eyes grew deep.
“Xinyi, I have absolutely no relationship with those women outside. If I had known I would meet you one day, I would never have let those women get close to me.”
He continued forward calmly, saying, "We've known each other for a while now, so you should know me to some extent."
"You have feelings for me, don't you?"
The man's voice was slightly deep and had a hint of sexiness. His nose was almost touching hers, and his warm breath tickled her face.
Zhong Xinyi turned her head away in a panic and took a step back. "I...I don't know."
Gu Shaokai pressed closer, trapping her against the wall, gazing at her intently. "You know, but you're just afraid to face it."
"Don't force me."
Zhong Xinyi shook her head vigorously. Some loves, once they begin, are hard to take back.
Gu Shaokai changed the subject and said, "Do you really like that pretty boy?"
"What pretty boy?"
Zhong Xinyi didn't understand at first, blinking her big eyes, before she realized what was going on.
Raising her eyebrows, she smiled helplessly and said, "How does Xu Hao look like a pretty boy?"
"You are not allowed to mention his name."
Hearing the name of a rival from a young woman's lips is so unsettling.
"You really like him?"
She felt like she was on a knife's edge, and Zhong Xinyi dared not touch the man's sore spot.
"I don't like him. He was just a neighbor when I was a child."
Hearing the satisfactory answer, Gu Shaokai finally breathed a sigh of relief.
"You mentioned having a childhood sweetheart, could it be him?"
Zhong Xinyi suddenly remembered the lie she had told and felt a little embarrassed.
"Um, I was lying to you. It's because you acted like a lecher back then."
"Does he still seem like a lecher now?"
Gu Shaokai smiled and said, "So the little woman has such a big misunderstanding about me."
"Are you alright now?"
Zhong Xinyi avoided the man's eyes, then suddenly realized that the two seemed to be too close. "Let go first, let's talk this out."
Gu Shaokai knew he had to give the little woman a strong dose of medicine, otherwise when would he ever win her heart?
"I won't let go until you answer me."
He then pulled the person into a tight embrace.
Zhong Xinyi looked helpless, finally witnessing Gu Shaokai's shamelessness.
Looking back on their time together, he had truly been considerate of her in every way; it would have been impossible for her not to be moved at all.
As Sister Jingjing once said, instead of worrying about the future, it's better to follow your heart.
Chung Hsin-yi, just consider it a chance for yourself. If you fail, you can simply start over.
"Can you give me some time to think about it?"
Realizing the woman's tone had softened, Gu Shaokai excitedly asked, "Is two days enough?"
"That's too short, it should take at least a week."
For some reason, she just wanted to play a trick on Gu Shaokai.
Gu Shaokai tapped his back teeth, not in a hurry.
Regardless of the outcome, she can only be his woman.
"Okay, one week it will be."
"You can't come to see me during this week, otherwise it will interfere with my thinking."
Gu Shaokai gritted his teeth and accepted the unequal treaty.
Sure enough, Gu Shaokai seemed to have vanished within a week, with no news of him whatsoever.
Cai Lin and the others thought Zhong Xinyi had been dumped, but she only dared to mutter about it behind her back. She'd been taken advantage of last time.
Zhong Xinyi focused on training every day, seemingly forgetting to give Gu Shaokai an answer.
The answer in her heart was obvious, but she didn't want to agree so easily.
During this week, Gu Shaokai was extremely irritable.
"Brother Kai, do you miss your sister-in-law? Why don't you go see her?"
My brother asks him for the time every day, which is obviously like he has an appointment with him.
Aside from my sister-in-law, no one else could possibly make my brother so annoyed.
Gu Shaokai's fists cracked as he looked for a way to vent his emotions.
"Heizi, isn't the task assigned to you a bit too easy?"
"Should we...?"
Kuroko, with a strong survival instinct, darted around with his small eyes. "Brother Kai, I suddenly remembered that there's something I haven't taken care of downstairs."
After saying that, he quickly made his escape.
Gu Shaokai remained silent for the next two days.
When the appointed time arrived, he got up early to get ready.
Today is a special day, after all.
The coffee shop doesn't open until 8 a.m., and Kuroko is used to getting up early to make some plans.
When I saw Brother Kai coming downstairs looking all respectable, I was so shocked my jaw almost dropped.
He quickly put down the ledger in his hand and ran over, "Brother, where are you going? I'll be your driver."
Gu Shaokai straightened his sleeves, glanced at Hei Zi, and said, "Come on, help me see how my clothes look today?"
Hei Zi gave a thumbs up, "One word: Cool."
"Brother, I'll run errands for you."
Gu Shaokai patted him on the shoulder solemnly, "No need, you take good care of the shop."
After saying that, he started the car and drove away.
I came across a shop on the way and even bought a bouquet of flowers.
The shop assistant rattled off a whole bunch of information, and in the end, he picked out a bouquet of bright red roses.
He went straight to the military region after getting the flowers.
Zhong Xinyi had just finished breakfast and was planning to go find Sister Jingjing to play when she ran into Gu Shaokai on the way.
Thump!
She then realized that a week had passed.
Seeing the man approaching with flowers in a grand display, she asked, "Do you like these flowers?"
Zhong Xinyi felt refreshed and relaxed as she smelled the fragrance of the flowers.
No one dislikes flowers.
She took the flowers from the man's hand and said, "I like them, thank you."
