Su Jingjing freed one hand to stroke his still handsome face, even the slightly prickly stubble was something she loved.
Time was of the essence; she couldn't cry.
She sniffed and wiped away her tears haphazardly.
“Ah Ting, didn’t you still want a daughter? You must pull through. The children and I are waiting for you outside.”
When Su Jingjing wasn't paying attention, Li Hanting's little finger twitched.
Zhou Guozheng pushed the door open and came in, followed by a nurse. Su Jingjing quickly got up.
"Dean Zhou, are we about to start surgery?"
"Yes."
Zhou Guozheng nodded and instructed the nurse behind him to come forward.
Su Jingjing watched helplessly as A Ting was pushed out, and she hurriedly followed.
When Chen Shufang saw the bloody wound on her son's shoulder, tears instantly streamed down her face.
Suppressing her voice, she cried out, "Han Ting, you must pull through."
The moment her son was wheeled into the operating room, her legs went weak, she knelt down, and almost fainted.
Li Hanchen's pupils contracted, and he hugged his mother tightly, "Mom."
Li Yuan turned around, picked her up, and placed her on a chair. He felt nervous as well. "Shufang, we have to trust Hanting. He'll be alright."
When he was young, he was also shot once, and Shufang was terrified for several days.
For the past thirty years, although she has been cheerful every day, she has always been worried about her husband and son.
Alas, he has failed his wife!
She was the most opposed to Han Ting joining the army, but she had to give in because her son insisted.
If anything happens to Han Ting, his father will be held responsible.
"Mom, A-Ting will be alright."
Su Jingjing went over to comfort her mother-in-law.
Chen Shufang suddenly realized that Jingjing was the one who was suffering the most.
Her eyes slowly regained their light, and she raised her hand to touch Jingjing's cheek, forcing a smile. "Yes, A-Ting will be alright."
Su Jingjing snuggled up to her mother-in-law.
What followed was a silent wait; no one uttered a sound.
Kindergarten gate
As soon as the school bell rang, the teacher said gently, "Children, get out of class is over."
A group of little kids stood up in unison and shouted, "Thank you, teacher! Goodbye, teacher!"
Goodbye, children.
Li Yuanyuan sat down and patted her stomach, excitedly saying to her brother, "Brother, Yuanyuan is hungry and wants to go home quickly to eat Mom's cooking."
"Brother will get it ready right away." Li Cheng'an tidied up the things on the table and neatly put them into his schoolbag.
"Brother, let me help you."
My mother always said that siblings should share happiness and hardship together.
She can't rely on her brother for everything.
After packing their things, Li Cheng'an took his sister's hand and walked out of the classroom.
Liang Dapang shouted from behind, "An'an, Yuanyuan, wait for me!"
Li Cheng'an subconsciously turned his head and saw Liang Dapang running towards him with his schoolbag.
Fortunately, they weren't in the same class, otherwise he would have had a headache, after all, Liang Dapang was very persistent.
After stopping, Liang Dapang asked breathlessly, "Why were you walking so fast?"
"Big Fatty Brother, Yuanyuan wants to go home early to eat Mom's cooking."
"Li Yuanyuan said in a childish voice."
Upon catching a glimpse of An'an's round, chubby face, Liang Dapang felt an itch to pinch her cheeks while An'an wasn't looking.
"Smack!"
Li Cheng'an reacted quickly and slapped away his groping hand.
"Ah! An'an, you..."
Liang Dapang grinned, "Don't let An'an's lean physique fool you, he's got some muscles, and his punches can really hurt."
Li Cheng'an pulled his sister behind him, his eyes narrowing. "Didn't I tell you not to pinch my sister's cheeks?"
Li Yuanyuan opened her round eyes, still unaware of the situation.
She peeked her little head out from behind her brother.
Knowing he was in the wrong, Liang Dapang said guiltily, "I just thought Yuanyuan was cute."
An Anke cherishes his little sister Yuan Yuan, and no one in the compound dares to bully her.
You can't bully someone openly, or even secretly.
"Okay, I'll never pinch it again."
Seeing that An'an still had a stern expression, he quickly apologized and made a gesture of begging for forgiveness.
"Brother An'an, don't be angry."
"This will not be repeated."
Li Cheng'an was in a hurry to go home, so he didn't pursue the matter further, knowing that Liang Dapang would just do whatever he wanted next time anyway.
"Hey, wait for me."
Along the way, Liang Dapang chattered on and on, occasionally talking to Yuanyuan.
Li Cheng'an felt a buzzing in his ears and frowned slightly.
Back at the family compound, Liang Dapang saw his elderly mother and started calling out to her from afar.
"Mom, Mom, what delicious food are you making today?"
Seeing An'an and Yuanyuan beside her son, Wu Xiuying felt a little uneasy.
Instead of answering her son's question, she asked with concern, "An'an and Yuanyuan, would you like to come over for dinner?"
Li Cheng'an was puzzled. His usually overweight mother never had such a good complexion. What was going on today?
"Aunt Wu, no need, my mother has already cooked."
Wu Xiuying hesitated for a moment, then said, "I see."
Seeing his mother acting strangely, Liang Dapang cut to the chase, "Mom, why are you being so generous today? Did you cook something delicious at home?"
Then his stomach started growling.
Wu Xiuying felt embarrassed when her son exposed her.
"Your mother doesn't do that."
She grabbed her son and said, "Come on, let's go home."
Li Cheng'an hesitated for a moment, just as he was about to take his sister upstairs, when he heard someone call out from behind him.
"An'an and Yuanyuan, wait a moment."
Turning around, isn't this Grandpa Gu's adjutant?
"Uncle Wei, what's wrong?"
