When Chen Shufang heard her son say he wanted to be discharged from the hospital, she strongly opposed it.
But she only agreed after her son's repeated persuasion.
The next day, Liu Yang drove over to pick him up.
"Commander, you..."
He was also taken aback when he saw that the regimental commander was about to be discharged from the hospital.
As expected of a brave and skilled regimental commander, you couldn't even tell he had been shot in the shoulder.
Before Liu Yang could finish speaking, Li Hanting already knew what he was going to ask.
She quickly interrupted, "Alright, stop chattering and asking so many questions."
Su Jingjing stepped forward and gently tugged at Ah Ting's sleeve, trying to get him to treat Liu Yang better.
Then he smiled at Liu Yang and said, "Little Liu, Dean Zhou said you just need to go home and rest well."
"Yes, sister-in-law, the commander can also take a good rest."
The regimental commander never takes a vacation all year round, staying in the army every day.
Seeing his wife smiling so sweetly at Liu Yang, Li Hanting was immediately filled with jealousy.
But he couldn't bear to be angry with her, so he pretended to be pitiful.
"Honey, my shoulder hurts."
Upon hearing this, Su Jingjing quickly suppressed her smile, opened the car door, and sat down next to him.
"Where does it hurt? Let me see."
Li Hanting enjoyed his wife's care, but didn't forget to give Liu Yang a sinister look.
Liu Yang was completely baffled. What had he done to offend the regimental commander?
He moved his lips and stammered, "Commander, why don't we go in and let Dean Zhou take another look?"
Su Jingjing looked up and echoed, "Ah Ting, why don't we stay in the hospital?"
Li Hanting felt like he had shot himself in the foot. He gently put his arm around his wife's waist and said softly, "Wife, I'm fine. It doesn't hurt anymore."
Turning his head to Liu Yang, who was sitting in the driver's seat, he showed a completely different expression: "Drive."
Upon receiving the instruction, Liu Yang immediately started the car without pausing for a moment.
An'an, who was sitting quietly to the side, rolled her eyes silently.
Dad is so childish!
It was obvious that she didn't want her mother to talk to Uncle Liu.
The car quickly returned to the residential compound, with a group of children chasing after it. Liu Yang dared not drive fast.
After stopping the car, the man got out first and placed his hands on the roof to help her out.
An'an slipped out of the car by herself, not forgetting to take her younger sister out with her.
Huang Qiurong and her group stepped forward and asked with concern, "Jingjing, Commander Li was discharged from the hospital so soon?"
Su Jingjing looked at Sister-in-law Qiu Rong and said, "The doctor said it's okay to come back and recuperate."
"Ladies, we're going upstairs now."
Huang Qiurong urged, "Let's go up quickly."
Commander Li looks no different than usual, so he should be fine.
As soon as they got home, Su Jingjing told A-Ting to go inside and rest.
"Honey, I'm fine. I just feel uncomfortable lying in bed all day."
Su Jingjing thought about it and realized that it made sense, so she had no choice but to give up.
"Then you chat with the kids, and I'll go make you some pork rib soup."
After saying that, he gave An'an and Yuanyuan a few words of advice. Just as he was about to go into the kitchen, he heard a knock on the door.
"They're here."
Upon opening the door, I asked, "Xiao Liu, what's wrong?"
Is there something we've forgotten?
Liu Yang chuckled and said, "Sister-in-law, I forgot to tell you something."
“My aunt called this morning, and I accidentally mentioned that the regimental commander was injured. She got very worried.”
Su Jingjing knew that Liu Yang was referring to her mother.
She had previously said that if anything happened, she could call Ah Ting's office, so there would be no need to send a telegram.
There's a telephone at the village store, but you have to pay to make a call.
Given her mother's impulsive nature, she might actually come.
After thinking for a moment, his expression changed. "Xiao Liu, wait for me, I'm going to make a phone call back."
Just as Su Jingjing was about to turn around, she saw A Ting behind her.
Li Hanting also overheard the conversation. "Wife, how about I go with you to make a phone call?"
That would make it more credible.
She shook her head. "No need. You stay home and look after the children. I'll be right back."
Li Hanting suggested, "Then let An'an go with her."
Su Jingjing suddenly realized that her mother might not believe what she said, and that it would be good for An'an to go along, so she agreed.
Upon arriving at Ah Ting's office, she dialed the number back.
After two beeps, a loud voice immediately came from the other end of the phone.
"Hello, who are you looking for?"
Su Jingjing instantly realized that it might be the owner of the convenience store.
He softened his tone and said, "Hello, I'm looking for Yan Ling."
"Okay, wait."
As soon as the other party finished speaking, they immediately and decisively hung up the phone.
Su Jingjing didn't react for a moment until she heard the "beep beep" sound, then she put down the phone.
Sujiazhuang
Two hours earlier, Yan Ling learned that her son-in-law had been shot while on a mission, so she rushed to the fields to call the old man and Dashan back.
The family discussed visiting their son-in-law together.
Being shot, how terrible!
Jingya must be at a loss.
Su Xiang made the decision that his parents would go to the city, while Da Shan would stay at home to take care of the family.
Just as I finished packing my things and was about to leave for the bus, I heard an announcement over the village loudspeaker: "Yan Ling, someone called looking for you..."
Yan Ling immediately recognized the voice of her grandmother and quickly put the package down.
He couldn't help but wonder, "Could it be Jing calling?"
"I'll go over there."
Perhaps there will be the latest news about the son-in-law.
Su Xiang put down his old pipe. "Wait for me, we'll go together."
The two of them hurried to the convenience store.
When Grandma saw the village chief coming, she stopped eating sunflower seeds and eagerly walked over.
