The next day, Su Jingjing endured the soreness in her body and got up to make breakfast for the children.
An'an rubbed her eyes. "Mom, you're awake?"
Su Jingjing looked up, "Why did you ask that, baby?"
An'an hit the nail on the head, "Mom, did Dad bother you last night?"
Su Jingjing paused, wondering if kids these days were so mature.
"Dad snores very loudly when he sleeps."
Sometimes he could hear it even from the living room; he could hear his mother suffering.
Su Jingjing was both amused and exasperated. Men usually snore, but not this loudly.
To dispel her child's doubts, she told a little lie: "Daddy didn't wake Mommy; Mommy got up in the middle of the night to get a drink of water."
"Go wash up first, Mom will go wake up your sister."
As she spoke, she untied her apron.
The little one was lying in bed, the blanket neatly tucked in, probably An'an's doing.
If you listen closely, it seems to be snoring softly, sleeping very soundly.
This is definitely a good time to sleep in the dead of winter.
"Baby, wake up. Mommy made your favorite steamed egg."
The little one slowly opened his eyes, still sleepy, as if he hadn't fully woken up yet.
I instinctively reached out for a hug.
"Mom, I want to eat steamed eggs."
As soon as they heard there was food, they instantly perked up.
"Okay, let's go wash up first."
Su Jingjing chuckled, dressed her daughter first, and then braided her hair.
"Shall we wear pink hair ties today?"
It perfectly matched the pink jacket my daughter was wearing, making her little face look even whiter.
"Okay, Yuanyuan will listen to her mother."
After everything was settled, Su Jingjing took her daughter to the bathroom to wash up.
An'an took her younger sister's cup, filled it with water, and squeezed toothpaste onto it. "Mom, I can take care of my sister's washing up."
The little guy spat out a mouthful of water, "Brother, I can squeeze toothpaste myself."
"You're not strong enough, let your brother help you."
Seeing that the two children were behaving quite well, Su Jingjing didn't interfere.
An'an noticed that her mother was holding her back from time to time, and she knew that her mother was very tired today.
"Mom, my sister and I can go to school. You can stay home and rest."
Goodbye, Mom.
Goodbye, Mom.
Yuanyuan followed in her brother's footsteps.
Su Jingjing stood by the window watching the children walk out of the residential compound together before she finally breathed a sigh of relief and leaned against the wall.
She had been trying her best to hide it, but An'an still found out.
Seeing that it was still early, she went back to her room to take a nap.
It was an hour later when she got up.
After a good night's sleep, I feel much better.
Suddenly remembering the yarn she had bought a couple of days ago, she decided to knit scarves for her family.
But she didn't know how, so she had to ask Sister Qiu Rong for help.
Sister-in-law Qiu Rong explained it to her very kindly.
Looking at the quiet and serene profile, Huang Qiurong asked, "Is this a scarf knitted for Commander Li?"
Su Jingjing looked up. "Give it to the children first."
Scarves for two children don't require much time.
Before I knew it, I had been sitting at Sister Qiu Rong's house for almost three hours.
She smiled sheepishly, "Sister-in-law Qiu Rong, I'm sorry to have taken up your time."
Huang Qiurong waved her hand, "No, anyway, I have nothing to do in the dead of winter. I'd be happy if you came over to keep me company."
Seeing that the two children were about to get out of school, Su Jingjing got up to say goodbye.
As soon as she opened the door, she was enveloped in a warm embrace. She gasped in surprise, and the yarn in her hands fell to the ground.
"Wife, it's me."
Actually, she calmed down when she smelled the familiar scent on the man.
She looked up at him and asked, "Didn't you say you wouldn't be coming back for lunch?"
Li Hanting stroked his wife's soft earlobe and said in a deep voice, "It's canceled at the last minute. We'll go tomorrow."
"Where did you just go?"
Su Jingjing then remembered her yarn, which was now sitting alone in the corner.
Just as she was about to bend down, the man stopped her.
"I'll pick it up."
Li Hanting was fiddling with the yarn in his hands; the warm white scarf was already halfway finished.
Raising an eyebrow, he asked, "Are you knitting a scarf?"
Su Jingjing took it. "Yes, it's getting cold now, so I'm planning to knit a scarf for you and the children."
"I went to ask Sister Qiu Rong for advice this morning. How do you think my knitting is?"
He held up the scarf in his hand with a smile.
She felt pretty good about herself, and even her sister-in-law Qiu Rong praised her.
Li Hanting glanced at it and said, "My wife's knitting would definitely be beautiful."
"loquacious."
The man's words made her face flush red.
"Honey, knitting a scarf is hard work."
Quietly staying at home not only has to take care of the children, but also has to make time for studying.
āIām not tired. People always say that you should balance work and rest. After the kids go to school, I always have to find something to do.ā
"By the way, keep it a secret for now, and give An'an and Yuanyuan a surprise later."
"good."
The sound of children cheering came from downstairs.
"The children are back, I'll put the yarn away first."
Su Jingjing broke free from the man's embrace and hid the yarn in her room.
Yuanyuan saw her father standing at the door, opened her big, dark eyes, and asked, "Daddy, are you waiting for me and my brother?"
"Hmm, did you have fun at school today?"
Li Hanting lied without batting an eye; he rarely asked about his two children's grades.
My son has already learned elementary school material on his own, so there's nothing to worry about.
As for my daughter, she is not only slow to react in daily life, but also terrible at studying. There's no use worrying about her. As long as she's happy every day, that's all that matters.
With him and his wife protecting her, Yuanyuan's life will only go smoothly.
