Chapter 280 Parent-Teacher Meeting 1

When I woke up the next day, it was already broad daylight.

Su Jingjing was alone on the bed. She felt a little dazed, and her whole body ached.

I moved my mouth and found my throat was very dry. I coughed lightly twice, saw a glass of warm water on the bedside table, picked it up and drank it slowly.

My throat felt a little better after drinking a glass of warm water.

Thinking about how the children still had to eat breakfast before going to school, Su Jingjing dragged her aching body to get up and change her clothes, muttering to herself.

"As expected, men's words cannot be trusted."

Just as breakfast was almost ready, the man returned from outside.

As soon as he got back, he snuggled up to her for a few minutes. Then, the voices of the brother and sister came from the living room, so Su Jingjing instructed him to take care of the children's washing up.

The man is usually busy with work, but whenever he has free time, Su Jingjing wants him to spend more time with the children.

After their conversation last night, Li Hanting understood his wife's intentions and walked steadily and powerfully toward the bathroom.

An'an looked at the toothbrush her father handed her with a puzzled expression; toothpaste had already been squeezed onto it.

"What are you standing there for? Hurry up and brush your teeth and wash your face. Your mother made some delicious steamed buns today."

Upon hearing that there would be steamed buns to eat, Yuanyuan brushed her teeth with a smile, her mouth full of foam. She no longer swallows the foam.

An'an brushed her teeth stiffly, head down, thinking, why is Dad squeezing toothpaste for her?

Even stranger, they carried him to a chair and sat him down.

Li Hanting, eager for praise, asked, "Wife, how did I do just now?"

Su Jingjing was speechless. He had made it too obvious, and even An'an was stunned.

"Not bad, keep up the good work."

From that day on, Li Hanting would take the initiative to show concern for An'an and try his best not to show favoritism in front of the child.

Who knew that the brat would say, "Dad, I'm still used to you being serious with me. I've been feeling really uneasy these past few days."

Li Hanting paused for a moment: "..."

Su Jingjing: "..."

Never mind, father and son are the same kind of people.

That day, Su Jingjing went downstairs and heard a group of women discussing the parent-teacher conference.

She wondered, "Do kindergartens also hold parent-teacher meetings?"

He Zhaodi nudged her arm. "The parent-teacher conference is held around this time every year, and this year should be about the same."

"It's really just about getting to know how the children are doing at school, which I think is great."

Their family didn't have money to give gifts to the teachers, so they didn't usually interact with the teachers at school, and they didn't dare to bother them.

After hearing this, Su Jingjing remembered that the book seemed to have mentioned parent-teacher meetings as well.

However, only Li Hanting participated; the original owner remained oblivious to everything else.

The two children longed for their mother to participate, but they never dared to mention the parent-teacher conference to the original owner of the body.

Seeing that all their classmates' mothers were attending, they felt both envious and sad.

The brother and sister looked a little strange when they got home today.

Under Su Jingjing's gentle persuasion, Yuanyuan looked up at her brother and carefully took out a piece of paper from her schoolbag.

The school is holding another parent-teacher conference, and everyone's parents will be called.

She wanted her mother to go, but her mother had never gone before.

"Sweetie, what are you holding in your hand? Can you show Mommy?"

Su Jingjing noticed that her usually cheerful daughter had suddenly become silent.

An An's face was also tense.

Yuanyuan handed over the paper. "Mom...the teacher said there's a parent-teacher conference this weekend. Do you have time to go?"

She didn't understand what a parent-teacher conference was; she only knew that if her parents didn't attend, the other children would laugh at her and her brother.

Su Jingjing took the paper; it was actually just a simple invitation for parents.

This was a rare opportunity, and she had to help the children gradually erase their unhappy memories.

An'an saw that Su Jingjing didn't say anything and assumed that she didn't want to go over.

Her expression suddenly turned somber. "Mom, if you don't have time..."

"Okay, Mom and Dad will go together then."

Since she has two children, the two adults can go over.

An'an's round eyes lit up immediately, "Really?"

Su Jingjing felt a pang of sadness for no apparent reason and reached out to pull the brother and sister into her arms.

“Not just this time, but every parent-teacher meeting from now on, Mom will have to attend.”

Yuan Yuan's eyes welled up with tears. "Waaah... Mommy, Yuan Yuan loves Mommy the most."

An'an was also holding back tears; he was a little man and couldn't cry easily.

When Li Hanting returned from get off work, he found the mother and her two children chatting and laughing together, with even An'an's face beaming with joy.

The brother and sister were very happy and each ate an extra bowl of food.

Before going to bed, Su Jingjing told Li Hanting about the parent-teacher conference. The man paused for a moment, then said, "Okay, let's go together then."

Li Hanting couldn't help but frown when he thought about the unpleasant incident at last year's parent-teacher conference.

Su Jingjing tapped the man's chest, "A-Ting, if I hadn't come, would you have ended up divorcing me?"

"Hmm." Li Hanting held her hand that was lighting the fire with one hand and put his arm around her shoulder with the other. "Wife, before I met you, I thought marriage was just a responsibility, and it didn't matter who I married."

Even though those around him felt sorry for him, he knew he was a heartless person who couldn't give women the love they wanted.

Until Jingjing appeared, every smile and gesture of hers captivated him, and at that moment he knew he had fallen for her.

Su Jingjing kissed the man's chest tenderly, "From now on, you have me. I will try my best to be a good wife and a good mother."

A fire suddenly ignited on Li Hanting's body. "Wife, don't light a fire."

Su Jingjing was stunned for a moment, then quickly moved away from the man's chest, wrapped herself in the quilt, and closed her eyes.

"I'm going to go to bed."

Li Hanting looked down at the vain woman beside him and shook his head helplessly.

He wrapped his arms around her waist from behind and hugged her.

Su Jingjing leaned against the man's warm chest without struggling. The man placed his head on her neck and gently rubbed it, with a greedy look in his eyes.

The man hesitated to make any further move, and Su Jingjing turned her head in confusion, "You..."

She was too embarrassed to ask, so she only said one word.

Li Hanting smiled and gently pinched the tip of her nose. "You've been tired these past few days. Let me give you a good rest tonight."

What? She makes it sound like she really wants to.

Hmph... But it's good to be able to get a good night's sleep tonight.

Su Jingjing found a comfortable position in the man's arms, closed her eyes, and fell into a deep sleep.

After a good night's sleep, Su Jingjing woke up feeling refreshed and decided to make something different for breakfast.

She went to the kitchen and saw that there was still a piece of meat and an ear of corn left; steamed dumplings would be a good option.

Su Jingjing washed and chopped the meat, broke off the corn kernels, added seasonings, and mixed them together.

With dumpling wrappers readily available at home, making dumplings was quick; just drop them into boiling water one by one.

Dumplings shouldn't be cooked for too long, or they'll break easily.

To make a simple dumpling sauce, first mix chopped green onions and minced garlic, then add an appropriate amount of soy sauce and aged vinegar, and finally add chili sauce and mix well. If children can't handle spicy food, just add some peanut butter.

Her petite figure was busy in the kitchen, a smile always on her face, humming a song.
