"Mommy, hug me."
Upon hearing Su Jingjing's voice, Yuanyuan struggled to break free from Li Hanting's embrace.
Su Jingjing took her daughter and kissed her forehead tenderly.
Are you afraid of thunder?
"Mmm," the little guy's voice was as soft as a mosquito's buzz.
He gently patted her back and comforted her tenderly, "Mommy and Daddy are home, baby, don't be afraid."
"Mom, are we going to school today?"
Looking at the torrential rain outside, An'an had a bad feeling.
"No, there's a typhoon tonight, so let's not go out."
Su Jingjing carried her daughter to wash up and saw An'an standing there in a daze. She couldn't help but ask, "Son, what's wrong?"
An'an snapped out of her daze and immediately shook her head. "It's nothing." She lifted her heel and went up.
He was just worried about Lin Xin'ai. Her house is a thatched hut. Could it withstand the impact of a typhoon?
The man was thoughtful; he even boiled hot water specifically for the mother and her two children to wash their faces.
After washing up, my whole body felt warm and cozy.
Yuanyuan regained her spirits and climbed onto the chair on her own initiative without her mother holding her, blinking her eyes and waiting to be fed.
At this moment, Li Hanting brought out the noodles, and a fragrant aroma wafted over.
An'an's curiosity was piqued, and she looked up and asked, "Mom, did Dad cook breakfast today?"
Su Jingjing was surprised, "An'an, how did you know?"
My son hasn't even tasted it yet.
"Because the noodles cooked by my dad and mom smell different."
It's not that Dad's noodles are bad, but Mom's are better.
However, Li Hanting's noodle-cooking skills have improved, and when paired with the soul-stirring broth, the taste is indeed quite good.
Su Jingjing was surprised that An'an was so thoughtful. She didn't have to worry about this child at all, whether it was in terms of life or studies.
After finishing breakfast, Su Jingjing was about to start clearing the dishes when she was stopped by a pair of large hands.
"Wife, let me do it."
Su Jingjing had no choice but to go into the kitchen to wash some strawberries.
The man had just finished dressing and wrapped his arms around her waist from behind.
Su Jingjing smelled the familiar scent, her fingertips paused slightly, her clear, watery eyes rippled, and her lips pursed slightly.
She picked up a strawberry and put it in his mouth. "Try it and see if it's sweet?"
"A little sour." Li Hanting moved his lips slightly, giving his assessment without changing his expression.
Su Jingjing frowned. "Impossible. I just ate one, and it was definitely sweet."
While she wasn't paying attention, Li Hanting's lips curled up, and his voice lowered, like a lover's whisper.
"Would you like to try some?"
She asked instinctively, "How do you taste it?"
Suddenly, a pair of well-defined hands pulled her close, and with a slight effort, the two were perfectly joined together.
Before Su Jingjing could speak, a hot breath hit her face, and the man sealed her lips with his. She couldn't help but swallow, her eyes wide with surprise.
"Wife, have you tasted it?"
Just as she was about to suffocate, the man released her.
Su Jingjing gently chewed the strawberry in her mouth, and a sweet sensation surged in her taste buds.
She looked up in surprise. "You lied to me. It's sweet."
Li Hanting looked at him tenderly, the doting affection in his eyes impossible to ignore.
"Wife, you need to be more careful in the future."
Otherwise, he might go crazy if he gets scammed one day.
Su Jingjing hummed in response; she was simply unguarded around men.
She's so smart!
"It's getting late, you should go to work." Su Jingjing stepped back slightly and straightened the wrinkles in the man's military uniform.
Still worried, I added, "Be careful."
Li Hanting put on his military cap, took one last deep look at Su Jingjing, and after a long while, turned and walked out.
The two children watching TV in the living room knew that their father was going out to work as soon as he saw him dressed neatly.
She ran over with a cute little face, asking, "Daddy, are you going out?"
"Okay, stay home and be a good girl and listen to your mother."
Li Hanting stroked his daughter's head.
"I'll be good, but Daddy, it's raining outside, we can't go out."
Yuanyuan tugged at Li Hanting's sleeve, her eyes filled with worry.
Thunder is terrifying.
Su Jingjing answered for the man, "Baby, Daddy is an adult. His work is already arranged, so he can't just stay home."
Yuanyuan nodded as if she understood, "Daddy works so hard. I'll give Daddy a back massage more often in the future."
Li Hanting was unaware that his daughter felt sorry for him.
"Dad, please be careful."
An'an knew this was his father's mission, and he simply offered his father a word of concern.
Yuanyuan echoed her brother's words.
Li Hanting opened the door and left, satisfied.
The mother and her two children stood at the door for a moment, hesitating, before Su Jingjing came to her senses.
"Babies, come and eat some strawberries! They're big, sweet, and delicious!"
Soon the two children were drawn to the strawberries.
Just then, there was a knock on the door, and the mother and her two children all looked over at the same time.
"Mom, I'll go open the door."
Yuanyuan held half a strawberry in her hand, her lips bright red, as if she were wearing lipstick.
"Xiaoyun, Aunt Zhaodi."
The people outside the door were He Zhaodi and Yan Xiaoyun.
He Zhaodi was carrying a half-bag of peanuts. She peeked inside and could only faintly hear the sound of a television.
"Yuanyuan, is your mother home?"
It was raining today, and Xiaoyun said early in the morning that she was coming over to play with Yuanyuan. He Zhaodi originally didn't want to bother her, but her daughter kept pestering her, so she shamelessly brought the only half-bag of peanuts left in the house to the door.
Upon seeing the strawberries in Yuanyuan's hand, she suddenly regretted knocking on the door.
