Chapter 324 Conflict Resolution

Upon entering, Yan Ling and Chen Shufang locked eyes, and both felt a little awkward.

Li Yuan broke the atmosphere, "Please sit down, in-law."

Su Xiang smiled warmly and pulled Yan Ling to sit down.

Li Yuan smiled calmly, "It's been several years since we last met. Brother Su is still the same as before."

When they went to the countryside to propose marriage, the two families had a rather unpleasant argument, but the outcome was good for the two children.

Su Xiang waved his hands repeatedly, "I'm getting old."

"Brother Li is even healthier than I am."

Li Yuan laughed heartily, "I'm getting old too, I definitely can't keep up with the young people on the battlefield."

"Now, Jingjing and Hanting's two children have finally seen the light at the end of the tunnel."

"Yes." Su Xiang was extremely satisfied with Li Hanting.

The two grown men, as if they had been separated for a long time, took out a Go board and started playing.

Su Jingjing and the others sat chatting in the pavilion in the courtyard.

"Mother-in-law, try this green tea, it tastes very refreshing."

Chen Shufang took the initiative to break the deadlock between the two.

Yan Ling picked up her teacup, took a sip, and her eyes lit up. "It's really good, much sweeter than the tea from our village."

In the past, Chen Shufang would have made sarcastic remarks when she heard the other person mention the countryside, but she doesn't now.

She said in a somewhat unnatural tone, "If you like to drink it, you can fill some up and take it home."

Yan Ling didn't reply immediately; she wasn't sure if the other person was sincere.

It wasn't until Jingjing touched her arm that she came to her senses. "Okay, then thank you, mother-in-law."

"Sister-in-law, Huanhuan, let's go for a walk outside."

Seeing that the two were a little reserved, Su Jingjing came up with a plan.

Dong Qin nodded quickly, as she knew a little about the minor conflict between her mother-in-law and the Li family.

Li Yuehuan was confused, but she knew she could go out and play, so she happily agreed.

Chen Shufang said gently to Su Jingjing, "Don't go too far, it's almost time to eat."

After saying goodbye to her two mothers, Su Jingjing went out.

When An'an and Yuanyuan heard their aunt say she was going out to buy snacks, they quickly dropped their beloved toys and ran over.

Soon, only the two of them remained under the pavilion. The atmosphere was slightly awkward, but they were less reserved in their conversation.

"Mother-in-law..."

"Mother-in-law, I..."

The two spoke at the same time, and then stared at each other.

Yan Ling spoke first, "You go first."

Chen Shufang took a deep breath. "Mother-in-law, look how loving the two children are now. To avoid putting them in a difficult position, how about we wipe the slate clean of any past grievances?"

Her heart jumped the moment she said it, fearing that the other person's stubborn temper would suddenly explode, which would make her lose face.

Yan Ling sighed, "I hope you won't take my harsh words to heart."

Chen Shufang pretended not to care and said, "I have already forgotten about the unpleasantness before."

"Let's get along well from now on."

Yan Ling has always been a cheerful person. She only became strong as a mother because she saw that Chen Shufang was not satisfied with her daughter.

After the two shook hands and made up, they acted like close sisters.

The two families sat down together for a meal, and the atmosphere was very pleasant.

Back at the residential compound, Su Jingjing asked Yan Ling in confusion, "Mom, you and my mother-in-law have made up like this?"

Didn't they say the two had fought before?

While picking vegetables, Yan Ling replied, "Actually, your mother-in-law is a pretty good person; it's just that Mom is a bit extreme."

uh-huh?

Has the sun risen in the west?

"It's boiling over, what are you standing there like an idiot for?" Yan Ling scolded, this child is getting more and more confused.

Su Jingjing quickly opened the pot lid, and a fragrant aroma immediately wafted to her nose.

"Mom, it smells so good! What are you cooking?"

Yan Ling took the spoon, scooped up a spoonful to look at it, and said, "These are taro balls. An'an and Yuanyuan should like to eat them."

Su Jingjing leaned on her shoulder and said coquettishly, "Mom, I'm not your little darling anymore."

Yan Ling put down her spoon, closed the pot lid, and said with a smile, "Now that Han Ting is spoiling you, Mom's focus is on the three children."

As Dong Qin passed by the kitchen, she overheard the conversation inside and couldn't help but feel a little envious.

My sister-in-law is lucky. She was pampered by her parents-in-law from childhood, and after getting married, she was also pampered by her brother-in-law.

Isn't this what every woman wants?

"Auntie, my little brother pooped."

Yuanyuan frowned, covered her mouth, and took a step back.

Ugh, the little brother's poop smells even worse than hers.

But the little brother didn't seem to know anything, and was just happily grinning to himself.

Should she tell him?

Dong Qin concealed her emotions and stepped forward to skillfully change her son's diaper.

Su Jingjing came out of the kitchen and pinched her daughter's nose. "You and your brother were like this when you were little."

ah?

Yuanyuan was stunned for a moment, and stopped covering her nose.

Blushing, she protested, "Mom is lying."

An'an stood to the side, looking pale as a ghost.

He's a young master, how could he just poop anywhere?

"If you don't believe me, ask Grandma."

Although Su Jingjing had never breastfed a child, she knew that all children were the same.

Yan Ling turned off the stove and came out, then picked up the clean-looking little Guo Dong.

"Grandma, is what Mom said true?"

Yuanyuan tugged at Yanling's clothes and asked cautiously.

"Yes, back then, Grandma washed your diapers every day."

Yan Ling recalled that it was fortunate that her son-in-law's family was well-off; otherwise, an ordinary family wouldn't have had so many diapers.

Twins (a boy and a girl) are not easy to raise.

Yuanyuan immediately calmed down; she would never dare to dislike her little brother again.
