When Li Hanting arrived at the old house, his mother pulled him aside and said some intriguing things.
"No matter what, girls' bodies are inevitably a bit delicate, so you should be more careful in the future."
Upon hearing his mother's words, he finally realized what was happening and clenched his fist to his lips.
"Mom, Auntie told you so quickly."
Chen Shufang raised her voice slightly, "Yeah, she thought you bullied Jingjing."
Li Hanting was both amused and exasperated. His wife was the apple of his eye; how could he possibly bully her?
"Mom, I'll be more careful in the future."
The little guy drank a bowl of malted milk powder, and a ring of milk stains appeared around his lips, making him look like he had grown a white beard.
She let out a burp, put down her bowl, and ran towards the two of them, looking up to ask, "Dad, Grandma, what are you whispering about?"
Looking at her granddaughter's adorable face, Chen Shufang couldn't help but laugh out loud, "Grandma told your father to take good care of Mom."
She wiped the milk stains off her with a handkerchief and said, "You and your brother must behave well and not interfere with Mom's work. Grandma will come to see you when she has time."
An'an then came over and embraced the two children.
Oh, she really couldn't bear to part with those two little ones.
When they're not home, the house feels much quieter.
It's all the old man's fault. He was afraid of gossip, so he sent Han Ting to the First Military Region. If Han Ting had stayed at home, he would have been able to stay in his unit.
Yuanyuan frowned and said, "Mom works so hard to earn money, and Yuanyuan and her brother feel so sorry for her."
The next second, she gently tugged at Li Hanting's sleeve and asked innocently, "Dad, do we run out of money?"
"Pfft...cough cough..."
Suddenly someone behind me sprayed water, followed by a continuous series of coughs.
Yuanyuan turned her head to look at her aunt's amazing actions, her little head full of questions.
Li Yuan shot him a sharp look, "Hurry up and wipe it clean."
This girl is getting more and more unruly. I guess I'll have to send her to the army to train her up sometime.
"Oh, oh." Li Yuehuan shivered and hurriedly wiped the table.
She had a bad feeling about this.
Li Hanting's face immediately darkened. He bent down and picked up his daughter. "Why do you ask that?"
Yuanyuan quickly shifted her attention, hugging Li Hanting's neck tightly, her voice sweet and soft, "Mom didn't have to work so hard before."
Chen Shufang chuckled and patted her granddaughter's head. "Don't worry, even if Dad doesn't have money, Grandpa and Grandma do. As for Mom's hard work, maybe she likes this job. Yuanyuan can ask her when we get home tonight."
The little guy's mind raced. "Oh right, I can go back and ask my mom."
Chen Shufang waved her hand, "Take the child back quickly, Jingjing misses her terribly after not seeing her for a day."
Li Hanting carried one child in each arm and held the other's hand. "An'an and Yuanyuan, say goodbye to your grandparents and aunt."
The next second, the two children waved sweetly and said "bye-bye".
Watching them skip and hop away, it was truly hard to part with them.
Li Hanting drove home, and as soon as the car stopped, the two children couldn't wait to open the car door.
She strained with all her might, her little face contorted with anxiety, and she looked at Li Hanting with a pitiful expression, "Daddy..."
Li Hanting smiled slightly, easily opened the door, and the two children ran inside, calling out "Mom!"
He followed behind, carrying things in both hands.
Su Jingjing was sitting in the courtyard teasing Guodong when she heard her daughter's voice and instinctively turned around.
Suddenly, her eyes met the man's, and she blushed and looked away.
She reached out and pulled the two children close, asking gently, "Did you have fun playing with your grandparents?"
Yuanyuan pouted and kissed her on the cheek, "I'm happy, but I still miss my mom."
An'an pursed her lips, greedily inhaling the scent of her mother.
Xiao Guodong waved his hand, making little noises, and seemed particularly excited, as if to say, "Why aren't my older brothers and sisters looking at me?"
After snuggling with her mother, Yuanyuan gently took Guodong's little hand, blinked her clear and beautiful eyes, and asked in a cute but fierce way, "Little brother, have you been good while your sister is not home?"
Xiao Guodong could only keep grinning foolishly, drool dripping from the corner of his mouth.
Yuanyuan clumsily wiped her younger brother's mouth with a handkerchief.
Yan Ling brought out two bowls of mung bean soup and saw the heartwarming scene. "Yuanyuan is getting better and better at taking care of her younger brother."
"Grandma cooked mung bean soup, and my brother and I came over to have some."
She looked up at her son-in-law, "Han Ting, wait a moment, Mom will get you a bowl."
"I can do it myself." Li Hanting quickly stopped his mother-in-law and handed her the things he was holding.
"Mom, here's a can of imported milk powder and a cleaned chicken."
When something nice was suddenly placed in front of her, Yan Ling took it in a daze. "My in-laws are too kind. Mom doesn't have anything good for you to take with you."
These two items cost several tens of yuan.
"Mom, we're family, no need to be so polite." Li Hanting's voice was deep and strong.
Seeing his daughter happily eating from her bowl, he patted her head and said, "Eat slowly."
Yuanyuan mumbled, "Daddy, Grandma's mung bean soup is so delicious."
Su Jingjing asked, puzzled, "What's wrong?"
Li Hanting looked up at her, thinking that his wife was not going to talk to him.
Su Jingjing felt uncomfortable under his gaze and said reproachfully, "Why are you looking at me? Is there something on my face?"
Li Hanting coughed lightly, "Wife, they just drank a bowl of malted milk powder at home."
