Before Su Dashan even entered the door, he smelled the strong aroma of chicken soup. He couldn't wait to ask, even before he could hold his son.
"Mom, did you make chicken soup today?"
Yan Ling slapped him, saying, "Your nose is so sharp."
"Hehe! I inherited that from you," Su Dashan chuckled憨厚ly. "But where did we get the chicken?"
Yan Ling tasted it. "It was given to me by my mother-in-law."
"Go and hug your son, you haven't seen him all day."
Hearing his son's babbling, Su Dashan gently picked him up and couldn't help but nuzzle his chubby cheeks. "Did you miss Daddy?"
Dong Qin was instantly alarmed and quickly reminded him, "Dashan, your stubble will prick our son."
Sure enough, Xiao Guodong immediately pouted and resisted Su Dashan's embrace.
"Son, don't cry."
Su Dashan was caught off guard and carried him around, but it seemed to have no effect whatsoever.
Dong Qin reluctantly accepted it.
Yan Ling glanced at her son, who was standing there dumbfounded, and said, "Go change your clothes before you come to eat."
Children's skin is delicate; they can't stand such rough treatment.
Tonight's dinner was plentiful, with chicken and fish. The two kids were gnawing on chicken legs and munching on two bowls of rice.
Looking at the children's round bellies, Su Jingjing was worried that they might have indigestion, so she took them out for a walk.
Yuanyuan had never gone out for a stroll in the evening before, so she found it quite unusual.
The moon was especially round tonight. The two children held hands in front of them, following the moon, while Su Jingjing and her companion followed behind.
The little guy giggled foolishly, "Mommy and Daddy, the moon seems to be following me."
An'an frowned. "Silly sister, you're just imagining things."
Yuan Yuan pouted, looking aggrieved, and protested, "Brother, I'm not stupid."
"Hmph... Mom says we're twins, a boy and a girl, and we're both just as smart."
Oh dear, he's offended someone again!
An'an sighed and rubbed her forehead in exasperation, "Brother was wrong."
"Please forgive your brother, okay?"
The little guy said in a very generous tone, "Okay."
Su Jingjing and the other person watched in silence as the children resolved their conflict.
Suddenly, a group of children playing not far away caught Yuanyuan's attention.
"Mom, I want to go play too."
With round, bright eyes, she tilted her head back and asked.
"Come with your brother, Mom and Dad will be here watching over you."
There are other tenants nearby, and groups of two or three children are playing together.
"Ah Ting, I feel so happy right now!"
Su Jingjing smiled serenely.
Li Hanting gently embraced her, resting his chin on the top of her head, "Wife, we will only become happier in the future."
Su Jingjing hugged herself tighter; she believed those words.
Looking at Yuanyuan laughing freely, it's impossible to imagine that just a few months ago she was a silent child.
After playing for a while, Su Jingjing called the children to go home.
"You're back." Yan Ling stood up and pulled An'an and Yuan Yuan over. "How about you sleep with Grandma again tonight?"
Yuanyuan stared at Su Jingjing with her bright, sparkling eyes. She knew that when her father was home, he would definitely monopolize her mother's attention.
"Mom, I will miss you."
Seeing her daughter looking so pitiful, Su Jingjing felt very sorry for her and bent down to kiss her cheek. Of course, An'an did the same.
"Mom will miss you too."
If Ah Ting didn't have to rush back to her unit tomorrow, she really wanted to sleep with the children.
When Li Hanting came out after taking a shower, he was stunned to see Su Jingjing working so diligently.
Su Jingjing suddenly realized something was wrong and turned her head to look over.
Puzzled, he asked, "What's wrong?"
"My wife is really beautiful."
Li Hanting dropped the towel, walked over, and put his arm around her.
"Are you done with your work?"
"Um."
As soon as he finished speaking, the man picked her up and carried her in his arms. She instinctively wrapped her arms around his neck.
After placing him on the bed, she quickly said, "You can't touch me tonight, or I'll go sleep with the children."
"Honey, I'm going back to my unit tomorrow morning. Can you bear to leave me alone in this empty house?"
Li Hanting resorted to a self-inflicted injury ruse.
Su Jingjing cupped the man's face in her hands, "I can't bear it, but my body is still in pain."
If she goes off to fool around again tonight, she really won't be able to get up tomorrow morning.
"Silly girl, I was just kidding."
Li Hanting rolled over to her side and pulled her into his arms. "Sleep."
Su Jingjing looked incredulous. Was he being so easy to talk to tonight?
Li Hanting curled his lips into a smile, "Don't you want to sleep yet? Then let's..."
"No, no, I'll go to sleep now."
After saying that, Su Jingjing immediately closed her eyes.
Li Hanting stroked her soft hair; he had just deliberately concealed what the doctor had said.
If my wife knew, she'd be so ashamed she wouldn't be able to sleep.
A peaceful night.
The next day, Su Jingjing vaguely sensed movement in the room. She opened her eyes groggily and saw the man putting on a military shirt.
She instantly became much more alert. "Are you going back to your unit?"
Li Hanting paused, then leaned down and kissed her lips. "Mmm, it's still early, close your eyes and go to sleep."
"I'll get up and see you off."
Su Jingjing shook her head. She went to bed early last night and wasn't sleepy anymore.
Li Hanting quickly covered her with the blanket, saying, "Wife, it's cold outside, you don't need to get up."
Soon, Su Jingjing was the only one left in the room. She couldn't sleep anymore, so she got up to cook breakfast for her family.
Hearing the commotion outside, Yan Ling tucked An An and Yuan Yuan in, got up, put on her coat, and went outside.
"Daughter, why are you up so early?"
