Chapter 351 Buying New Year's Goods

Since her mother said so, An'an stopped worrying about it.

Looking at the sandwiches on the plate, he asked curiously, "Mom, what kind of pancake is this?"

Su Jingjing handed over the millet porridge, "This is a sandwich, try it and see how it tastes?"

Just as An'an was about to take a bite, she suddenly remembered that she had caught sight of an empty seat opposite her.

"Mom, where's Dad?"

Su Jingjing laughed, "You only remembered Dad now. He's busy with things at the army base, so he won't be coming home for breakfast."

As the year draws to a close, Li Hanting is even busier.

Today's breakfast was quite substantial, and the mother and her two children ate until they were stuffed.

Su Jingjing tidied up the two children, and the three of them went out to take a car to the city.

"Grandpa, Grandma, we're here again."

Before even stepping into the courtyard, Yuanyuan's sweet little voice echoed throughout the entire compound.

Yan Ling and her companion were under the tree, pondering what to buy for the New Year.

Now that Dashan and Xiaoqin both have jobs, and sometimes their daughter even gives them money, their family's living conditions are much better than before. They plan to buy more New Year's goods this year, so they can't just skimp on them.

After kissing An'an and Yuanyuan for a while, he finally looked up at his daughter.

"Didn't the son-in-law come?"

Su Jingjing sat down next to her father, took the tea he offered, thanked him, and then turned to answer her mother's question.

"Mom, it's almost Chinese New Year, he'll be very busy these next few days."

Little Guodong stared at her with his round eyes. She clapped her hands and said, "Come here, let Auntie give you a hug."

Yan Ling handed Guo Dong over and nodded upon hearing this, "That makes sense. Soldiers are always very busy, let alone a son-in-law in a high position."

"Oh, right, I steamed some meat buns this morning, and there are a few left. I'll go get them for you."

Su Jingjing quickly stopped her, "Mom, no need, the two children are still full."

Yuanyuan let her grandmother touch her round belly.

Yan Ling pulled her into her arms. "Oh, what did you eat?"

The little guy giggled and spread out three fingers, saying, "I ate three doses of medicine."

"What three treatments?"

Su Jingjing chuckled, "Mom, it's a sandwich, which is a kind of bread. It's quite delicious. I'll make it for you next time."

Yan Ling said indulgently, "You just love to tinker with these kinds of foods."

However, this is a good thing, which is why An'an and Yuanyuan have become chubby.

Su Jingjing looked at her honest and simple father, "Dad, will you find it difficult to get used to life here?"

Su Xiang sighed, "To be honest, it's really hard to get used to having so much free time all of a sudden."

Yan Ling scoffed and rolled her eyes at Lao Su. "You're living a very comfortable life now, playing chess with a bunch of grown men every day. It's much better than when you were in the countryside, isn't it?"

Old Su works tirelessly for the villagers in the countryside, but they don't necessarily show much gratitude.

"Mom, no matter what, as long as Dad doesn't get bored, that's fine."

Su Jingjing winked and made faces.

"That's true."

Old Su had also worked hard for half her life and was covered in injuries. Sometimes she was in so much pain at night that she couldn't sleep, but they didn't dare tell their children.

"Honey, have you bought any New Year's goods?"

“My mother-in-law told me I didn’t need to buy so much, because we’ll go back to our old house for the New Year.”

Su Jingjing was stunned when she heard the news.

For the sake of family harmony, the original owner never spent the Lunar New Year in the old house.

If Li Hanting has time, he should take the two children back home.

Yan Ling asked in surprise, "Your mother-in-law really said that?"

That's wonderful!

Her daughter's hard work finally paid off, and she was completely accepted by the Li family.

"Daughter, let me tell you this first, you can't throw a tantrum later."

"Mom, don't worry, I won't."

Su Jingjing knows that her family is quite afraid that she will suddenly revert back to her old self.

"I'm going to go shopping for New Year's goods with Mom later. This is the first year our family is reunited, so it has to be lively."

The couple were busy with work, so they left the task of buying New Year's goods to her and her husband.

"OK."

So Su Xiang stayed home to take care of the three children.

After shopping for a while, Yan Ling realized that her daughter had a strong purchasing power and wanted to buy everything. She couldn't resist her daughter's demands.

"Honey, you can't carry any more, let's go home."

She wiped the cold sweat from her forehead, realizing she really wouldn't dare go out with the girl again.

Seeing that her hands were full, Su Jingjing finally agreed, "Okay, let's go."

"Why did you buy so much?"

Su Xiang looked at the pile of things on the ground and subconsciously glanced at his wife.

How did someone who's always been stingy become so generous?

"Don't look at me, these were all bought by your daughter."

"Dad, it's not too much at all. If I could carry it all, I would have liked to buy more."

Su Jingjing instructed the two children to take the things inside.

"You don't earn money easily, so you can't spend it like this in the future."

Su Xiang was furious. His daughter had her own family too; how could she take care of them all the time?

"Dad, I'll definitely remember next time."

Su Jingjing took out a red box from the bag. "Dad, this is a Go set I just bought. You can take it out and play Go with your old friends another day."

He opened the box, and neat rows of chess pieces were laid out in front of him. "So, do you like them?"

Su Xiang subconsciously looked at his wife, frowned, and asked, "Did you tell your daughter that?"

Yan Ling touched the tip of her nose. "Didn't I just let it slip?"

"Dad, don't blame Mom. I tricked her into saying it. It's rare for you to like something, so I definitely want to give it to you."

"I also bought a pair for An'an, so the two of you can have a friendly match."

After Su Jingjing finished speaking, she handed another box to An'an.

"Thank you, Mom."
