At lunchtime, Dong Qin and her husband returned home together. Seeing An An and Yuan Yuan surrounding her father-in-law, she realized that Jing Jing had come over.
Seeing his father fiddling with the Go set, Su Dashan asked curiously, "Dad, when did you buy this Go set?"
Yuanyuan held Su Dashan's hand, looked up and said, "Uncle, my mother bought it. My brother has one too."
Su Dashan picked up Yuanyuan and teased her.
"Brother, sister-in-law, you're back. Go wash your hands first, dinner will be ready soon."
Su Jingjing carried the dishes out of the kitchen.
Su Dashan took a deep sniff, looking delighted. "What delicious food did you make today? It smells so good."
Sure enough, whenever my younger sister is home, the food at home increases dramatically.
Yan Ling slapped his mischievous hand and glared at him, "Go wash your hands first, An'an and Yuanyuan are still watching."
"Mom, I'm going right now."
Su Dashan wasn't angry at all after being hit. He subconsciously scratched his head and walked towards the water tap in the yard with excitement.
After dinner, Dong Qin noticed several large bags in the corner. "Mom, did you go shopping for New Year's goods today?"
Isn't this a bit too much? She originally wanted to ask Jingjing for half a day off to go shopping for New Year's goods with her mother-in-law.
Yan Ling cut a small plate of pears and called the children over to eat.
“Yes, you and Dashan are so busy every day, so Jingjing and I went shopping this morning. This girl buys everything, I can’t stop her at all.”
Dong Qin looked at Su Jingjing and quickly said, "Little sister, your brother and I are making money now. Check how much it is and I'll make it up to you."
Su Jingjing wiped the juice from her daughter's lips, and upon hearing Dong Qin's words, she chuckled, "Sister-in-law, no need, it didn't actually cost much."
"If you give it back to me, you'll be being too polite."
"Mom, this..." Dong Qin looked at her mother-in-law, unsure of her mother-in-law's attitude.
Yan Ling spoke up, "Let it go this time. Next time, when you and your husband are able, remember to help your sister."
After several rounds of advice from Lao Su, she gradually came to understand that after her parents passed away, Jingjing would still have a family to rely on, so she couldn't afford to have any grudges against Dashan and his wife.
Su Dashan patted his chest and said, "Mom, I'll do anything you ask as long as my little sister calls."
If it weren't for his younger sister and her husband's help, he would still be farming.
"Mom, Jingjing will always be my and Dashan's little sister."
Dong Qin also stated that she is not an ungrateful person.
She had indeed been dissatisfied with Su Jingjing in the past, and tried to avoid her to avoid conflict.
She knew she wasn't the ideal daughter-in-law in her mother-in-law's eyes, and she swallowed all the scolding from her mother-in-law.
But later, Su Jingjing improved, and her mother-in-law's attitude changed a lot as well. Gradually, without her noticing, her mother-in-law stopped harboring any resentment towards Su Jingjing.
Su Jingjing stayed in the city. As the Chinese New Year approached, the number of orders in the store increased again, and she, as the owner, was busy running around taking care of everything.
But after less than two days, Li Hanting drove to find her, and before dawn he drove back to the army base.
She couldn't bear to see the man running back and forth, so she explained the situation clearly and returned to the family compound.
That evening, after taking a shower, Su Dashan sat on the bed and played with his son, Guodong. Guodong was particularly energetic that night, waving his arms and legs and drooling.
Su Dashan patted his buttocks gently, "Son, go to bed early tonight, Dad has something to tell Mom."
Xiao Guodong showed no respect whatsoever, and jumped around even more wildly.
"You brat, you're deliberately trying to torment your dad, aren't you?"
"Is our son still awake?"
Dong Qin closed the door and came in.
Xiao Guodong seemed even more excited when he saw her, his little mouth moving incessantly.
Dong Qin bent down to tease his little hand, but he grabbed it instead; the little guy was surprisingly strong.
"Son, do you want Mom to play with you? Wait a minute, Mom will go wipe her face first."
Jingjing gave her a set of skincare products to apply twice a day, morning and night, saying it was for skin care.
I have to say, after applying it, my skin felt a bit firmer.
"Honey, what are you applying that smells so good?"
Su Dashan sat down next to her and put his arm around her waist.
Dong Qin looked back, "Where's my son?"
"Don't worry, he'll fall asleep while playing in the cradle."
Su Dashan lifted his eyelids slightly and leaned on her shoulder.
"Wife, close your eyes, I'm going to show you something."
Dong Qin smiled and asked, "What's so mysterious about it?"
"It's a good thing, close your eyes first."
Su Dashan kissed her eyelids, and she trembled slightly before slowly closing her eyes.
When a person is in the dark, their other senses become particularly strong, and she felt something cool being slipped onto her finger.
"That's fine."
Dong Qin opened her eyes, adjusted them for a moment, and then lowered her head.
The next second, her eyes widened. There was a silver ring on her ring finger, with faint patterns visible upon closer inspection.
She picked it up and asked, "When did you buy this?" And it fits so perfectly.
Su Dashan played with her hand. "Do you like it? I don't have money to buy anything too expensive right now, honey, don't mind."
Compared to their younger sister, they are no match.
Tears welled up in Dong Qin's eyes, and she sniffed, "I think this is already very good. I like anything you give me."
"But how did you know my size?"
"Wife, don't cry." Su Dashan awkwardly wiped away her tears. "I secretly measured it a few days ago while you were asleep."
What a foolish man!
Dong Qin looked into the man's eyes and asked, "Did you get paid today?"
