Chapter 366 Return to Peace

"You're out playing with your dad."

Yan Ling picked up another grape and put it into her daughter's mouth.

"You focus on your work, we'll take care of the children."

She glanced at the drawings on the table and said, "Mom will put the grapes on the table and won't disturb your work."

Two days later, after arranging her work, Su Jingjing took her two children home to her family compound.

During the Spring Festival, the residential compound was a bit deserted, as everyone had gone back to their hometowns for the holiday.

The children were very excited to see each other, after all, they hadn't played together for more than ten days.

"Yuanyuan, do you want to play hopscotch together?"

Yan Xiaoyun ran over and shyly greeted Su Jingjing.

Since He Zhaodi went out to work and had money, she would occasionally buy some meat for the family to improve their meals, and Yan Xiaoyun finally no longer looked so thin and weak.

"Mom, can my brother and I play downstairs for a while?"

Yuanyuan tugged at her sleeve, pouted, and looked up to ask.

Su Jingjing's tone was gentle and delicate, "Of course, Mom will cook something delicious for you when we get home, and Xiaoyun and Da Pang can come and eat with us too."

"Thank you, Aunt Jingjing. I'll have to swallow my pride and come over."

Liang Dapang smiled, making his eyes appear even smaller.

He had eaten his aunt's meat buns before, and they were absolutely delicious; he still misses them dearly.

Yan Xiaoyun, who was always timid, quickly shook her head, "Auntie, I won't go."

She can't go to other people's houses to freeload.

Su Jingjing saw through the little girl's thoughts at a glance, "Xiaoyun, just think of it as coming to Auntie's house to play."

She gave the children a final few words of advice before taking her things upstairs. "That's settled then. You all play, and Auntie will take these things upstairs first."

As she was going up to the second floor, a figure suddenly rushed out from the corner, and she dodged it.

The other person was a teenage girl with an average appearance, two long braids tied on her shoulders, and thick bangs.

Hmm, a red top paired with green pants, what kind of outfit is that?

"Ah...you..."

Yan Xiaohua raised her head, cursing, but when she saw the other person's angelic face, she froze on the spot.

How could someone be so beautiful, wearing a pale yellow dress with a coat over it, and loafers that contrasted sharply with her black ripped sneakers?

A little embarrassed, she subconsciously pulled her toes back.

The other person's blatant gaze made me feel very uncomfortable, but I didn't expect her words to be even more vulgar the next second.

Yan Xiaohua was suddenly overcome with jealousy. "Hey, you almost bumped into me."

"This must be your first time here," Su Jingjing said calmly. "I dodged very quickly, I didn't even touch the hem of your clothes, so how could I have bumped into you?"

"you……"

He interrupted her the moment she opened her mouth, "What's the truth? The security camera above you should have captured it. Do you want to come with me to the security room to take a look?"

Yan Xiaohua followed her gaze and saw only a black box.

Is that surveillance footage?

His eyes flickered. "Don't try to fool me. How could there be surveillance footage?"

Su Jingjing snorted coldly, "This is a military base; there are surveillance cameras everywhere."

"If it turns out that I didn't hit you, then I'll sue you for defamation."

Yan Xiaohua was visiting the city for the first time and was terrified of being arrested.

Some people in their village had been to prison and said it was a place no human being could live.

"I can't be bothered to talk to you."

Embarrassed, he left a comment and ran downstairs.

Su Jingjing treated what had just happened as a minor incident; this wasn't the future, there wouldn't be any surveillance cameras here.

I took out my key to open the door, tidied up my things first, and then went into the kitchen to cook sweet taro balls for the children.

Half an hour later, there was movement at the door.

She poked her head out and smiled, "You're back. Go wash your hands first, we'll be eating soon."

Liang Dapang, true to his reputation as a dog with a keen sense of smell, took two deep sniffs and exclaimed, "Wow, An'an, what is your mom cooking that smells so good?"

Su Jingjing brought out the pot. "I made sweet taro balls. They're still a little hot. Let them cool down a bit before eating."

The four children were already sitting obediently in their chairs, their eyes fixed on the colorful taro balls.

"Mom, it looks so pretty!"

Yuanyuan frowned slightly, "I'm a little reluctant to eat it."

"Silly girl, Mom will cook it again next time."

"Alright, let's get started."

As soon as the words were spoken, the children couldn't wait to stuff taro balls into their mouths and take a few sips of sweet soup.

"It's so delicious!" Even though it was scalding hot, Liang Dapang kept chewing.

He patted his chest and said loudly, "Aunt Jingjing, you can just tell me what to do next."

As the saying goes, "He who eats another's food is bound to him; he who takes another's money is bound to him."

"Okay, Auntie will definitely not be polite with you. Eat as much as you like."

Su Jingjing added some more taro balls for him.

Big Fatty is a good person, he's just a bit of a chatterbox, but with him around talking to An An, An An isn't too bored.

"Xiaoyun, is it delicious?"

Seeing Yan Xiaoyun eating with her head down, Su Jingjing asked with concern.

Yan Xiaoyun raised her smiling eyes and nodded emphatically, "It's delicious, thank you Aunt Jingjing."

My mother said that Aunt Jingjing was their family's benefactor; without her, their lives would never have improved.

She has now completely forgotten about the time the other person took her candy.

"Mom, I want more taro balls."

Seeing that her mother only cared about her older brother, Da Pang, and Xiao Yun, Yuan Yuan became jealous.

He carefully moved the chair closer to Su Jingjing, watching her expectantly.
