The next day, Yan Xiaohua pretended to be sick and lay in bed groaning. Yan Yikuan saw through her clumsy acting at a glance.
"Brother, my stomach hurts so much, I might not be able to walk."
A black line appeared on his forehead. "Stop pretending. You can go back tomorrow." He then turned and left.
Yan Xiaohua watched his resolute back as he walked away, then immediately jumped out of bed and pulled back the curtain.
"Hey, if you're sending me back, aren't you afraid Mom will come after me?"
Yan Yikuan paused, then calmly said, "That's my business, you don't need to worry about it."
Yan Xiaohua watched as he walked towards He Zhaodi and her daughter, as if they were the family.
Suddenly, she seemed to realize that the matter was settled, and with a quick thought, she said, "Okay, if you want me to go back to the countryside, you have to give me ten yuan."
He Zhaodi stopped setting out the dishes and subconsciously looked at her husband.
In her opinion, as long as her sister-in-law could return to her hometown, the ten yuan would be well spent.
Yan Yikuan sat down next to his daughter and served her porridge before asking, "Do you want five yuan?"
"Yes, yes, yes!"
Yan Xiaohua originally wanted to say that five yuan was too little, but her older brother's death stare made her swallow back the words she was about to say.
"Come over for breakfast, then I'll take you to your car."
Yan Yikuan couldn't be so cold to his only sister, but if she couldn't tolerate his wife and daughter, then they shouldn't live together.
After dinner, Yan Xiaohua went out carrying a small bag, her face full of bitterness. When she encountered people downstairs, she covered her face.
The feeling of slinking away was awful.
He Zhaodi took the day off to stay home and take care of her daughter. After her sister-in-law left, she felt completely at ease.
"Mom, it smells awful."
Yan Xiaoyun covered her nose and pounced on her.
She asked, puzzled, "What's wrong?"
"My aunt's bed was dirty and smelly."
He Zhaodi walked over and lifted the blanket; there was indeed an unpleasant smell.
"Mom will clean the bed now, you can go inside and read for a while."
"Has Auntie gone home?"
Yan Xiaoyun looked at He Zhaodi with wide eyes, her joy almost overflowing.
Her aunt often scolded her, and she didn't like her aunt.
"Yes, no one will bother our family anymore."
"Hehe, that's great!"
Yan Xiaohua's return to the countryside did not attract the attention of others, after all, she had not been staying in the family compound for long.
Time passed day by day, and soon the start of the new school year arrived.
An'an and Yuanyuan excitedly slipped out of bed early in the morning and even put on new clothes.
"Mom, am I pretty?"
Yuan Yuan blinked her big eyes, like a little deer, and her face was filled with a bright smile.
"Mommy's darling daughter is the prettiest. After breakfast, Mommy will braid your hair into princess braids."
Not to brag, but her round, chubby face, cherry-like lips, and big eyes made her even prettier than a doll.
You can only imagine how beautiful she will be when she grows up!
"You're so vain!"
An An walked out of the bathroom and muttered something coolly.
Girls seem to like to look pretty.
Yuanyuan frowned, snorted, and said, "Brother is annoying!" Then she turned her face to the other side.
She wanted to give her brother the silent treatment for one minute.
Su Jingjing didn't get involved in the children's bickering; she figured An'an would be the one to back down in the end anyway.
Sure enough, An'an turned around and gently tugged at Yuan Yuan's sleeve, "Brother said the wrong thing. Getting angry is bad for your health."
Yuan Yuan, taking advantage of the situation, pouted and said, "Brother, if you say I'm the prettiest, I won't be angry."
An An found it a little difficult to say such cheesy things.
Su Jingjing brought breakfast to the table and served porridge to the brother and sister. "Yuanyuan, look, your brother's face is all red. Let's not make things difficult for him."
"All right."
Yuanyuan never intended to make things difficult for her brother.
Li Hanting returned from outside right after finishing breakfast.
"Dad, have you had breakfast?"
Yuanyuan excitedly ran towards Li Hanting and hugged his legs with both hands.
After the New Year, her father became busy again. He would only come home after she fell asleep every day, and he hadn't told her any stories for a long time.
Li Hanting picked her up and said, "Today is the first day of school, so Dad rushed back to take you and your brother to school."
"Wow, Dad is so great!"
Yuan Yuan excitedly hugged his neck and gave him a sweet kiss on the cheek.
Su Jingjing checked the children's schoolbags one last time. She put some snacks in An'an's schoolbag so he could take them and share them with his classmates.
Didn't you have training today?
"The schedule is a little late." Li Hanting looked at Su Jingjing meaningfully. "Let's go."
"Okay, sure."
She was naturally delighted that the men could help take the children to school.
Since today is the first day of school, the streets were filled with families dropping off their children.
Su Jingjing's family of four are all good-looking, giving people a pleasing feeling.
Yuanyuan walked in the middle, holding her father's hand with her left hand and her mother's hand with her right hand, her little bottom wiggling back and forth, looking particularly happy.
Although An An didn't make any big moves, those who knew him well could tell that he was happy.
When we arrived at the school gate, it was already crowded with people.
Yuanyuan is no longer afraid of strangers. Her big eyes kept rolling around, as if she was looking for any children she knew. Suddenly, her eyes lit up.
"Mom, my beloved sister is over there."
Su Jingjing and the others turned their heads together and met Lin Xin'ai's eyes.
Lin Xin'ai stepped forward, and her hands trembled involuntarily as she faced Li Hanting's stern face.
