"Dad, the mission was successfully completed."
Li Hanting still maintained his imposing presence when facing his father.
Li Yuan patted his second son's shoulder hard, "I heard from Lao Gu that it was not easy to complete this mission successfully. Dad is proud of you."
His two sons have truly brought him honor.
Chen Shufang pouted and said, "Can you two, father and son, please stop talking about business in front of the children?"
"Okay, okay, I won't say anymore."
Li Yuan dared not provoke his wife, so he took one grandson in each hand and said, "Come on, come inside with Grandpa to play."
After her parents went inside, Su Jingjing tugged at the man's sleeve, "Didn't you say this mission wasn't dangerous?"
Li Hanting paused. If he didn't answer this question well, he might have to kneel on a washboard.
"Honey, this mission is indeed a little less dangerous than the last one."
"you……"
It turns out the man was playing word games with her.
But thinking about it, there's no such thing as a mission without danger.
He pulled her into his arms and rested his chin on her small head. "Wife, I have you and the child now, and I cherish my life."
Su Jingjing leaned against his chest, her voice muffled.
"You must remember what you said."
"Cough cough cough..."
A soft cough suddenly interrupted them.
Su Jingjing quickly released the man's embrace, looked closely, and said, "Big brother, sister-in-law, you're back."
Ouyang Qian stepped forward, took Su Jingjing's arm, and smiled sweetly, "I didn't expect to see such a sweet scene as soon as I came back."
Su Jingjing blushed. "Sister-in-law, it's not what you see."
"What kind is that?"
When Ouyang Qian said this, she glanced at Han Ting, but he, with his usual cold expression, did not reveal any weakness.
"Sister-in-law, please stop teasing me."
"Okay, okay, I won't tease you anymore." Ouyang Qian knew that Jingjing was shy. "I need to go inside and see An'an and Yuanyuan. I've missed the two children quite a bit since I last saw them."
Li Hanchen put his hands in his pockets and teased his expressionless younger brother, "I didn't expect my dear brother to be so affectionate outside."
Li Hanting retorted without changing his expression, "Big brother, we're in the same boat."
He then turned and walked into the house.
Li Hanchen: "..."
When did his younger brother become so sharp-tongued?
The next afternoon, the family of four returned to their residential compound.
She was just about to start cooking when she heard a knock on the door.
He Zhaodi held up two extra-large cabbages. "Jingjing, these are cabbages I just picked. They're still fresh. I thought I'd bring you two."
"Perfect timing, let's add a dish of stewed cabbage and glass noodles to dinner."
Su Jingjing accepted it. "Zhao Di, thank you for the cabbage."
She understood Zhao Di's personality and had been looking for an opportunity to repay her, but sometimes refusing her would only make her overthink things.
He Zhaodi whispered, "Jingjing, Ge Hongsheng gave birth last night."
"So fast?"
She asked, puzzled, "It seems like it's not yet my due date."
"She and Yang Wei had a big fight last night. It seems she accidentally bumped her stomach, which caused her to go into labor early."
Su Jingjing frowned. These two really didn't know what was important, but it was none of her business.
Is it a boy or a girl?
"It's a girl. She had been saying that the baby in her belly was a boy, but now she thinks the hospital gave her the wrong baby. She made a fuss all morning before it finally calmed down."
Su Jingjing sighed, "There are all kinds of people these days."
She brought it up with the man during dinner.
Li Hanting muttered to himself, "Yang Wei seems to have aged ten years lately."
A man should marry a virtuous woman.
Su Jingjing blinked, "So, don't you think your wife is great?"
"My wife is the best."
If it weren't for the fact that his two children were nearby, he would have loved to go up and give them a kiss.
"Mom is the best."
The two children are mimicking the way the children are speaking.
"Okay, you're making me blush with all the praise."
A blush appeared on Su Jingjing's face as she picked up a little bit for each of the two children, saying, "These vermicelli noodles are especially delicious, have some more."
"Wife, I want one too."
"Okay, okay, we have them all."
The next day, when Su Jingjing went downstairs to air out the quilts, she heard the chatter downstairs and realized that Ge Hong had returned early in the morning.
"Do you know what happened? Ge Hong turned green with anger when she found out she had given birth to a daughter. She even threatened to send her away, but Yang Wei and her mother stopped her."
Although they didn't particularly care for their daughter, she was still their own flesh and blood, and they wouldn't give her away.
Wu Xiuying snorted coldly, "She's supposed to be a teacher, but she's wasted her education. She's just misleading students."
Someone else laughed and said, "Xiuying, didn't you say before that your daughter was a money-loser?"
"Go away, go away." Wu Xiuying waved her hand. "My mindset has changed now."
Her words drew laughter from everyone present.
*
A baby's cry echoed through the room.
"Stop making so much noise, can you please stop crying?"
Ge Hong looked like she was in a complete breakdown.
Li Li rushed in, "Why are you yelling at the child? She's probably hungry."
I have no breast milk.
"I'm annoyed," Ge Hong said.
"You try to soothe her for a bit, I'll go get some rice cereal to feed her."
Li Li forced the child into her arms.
Looking at the child's flushed face, Ge Hong murmured to herself, "Why couldn't you be a boy?"
"All you do is cry, cry, cry."
Suddenly, she had an impulse to throw the child down.
"The rice cereal is here."
Li Li pushed open the door and saw Ge Hong's stiff movements. "What were you doing just now?"
