Chapter 440 Li Hanting huddled in the corner of the bed

Since learning that Su Jingjing will be studying in another city in two months, An'an and Yuanyuan have been particularly clingy to Su Jingjing these past two days.

Every night, he would run over with a thin blanket and ask to sleep with her.

Su Jingjing was of course willing to satisfy the children, who were currently extremely insecure. It was just a pity for Li Hanting, who could only huddle in the corner of the bed at night and couldn't even touch the hem of his wife's clothes.

Yuanyuan rolled around on the spacious, soft bed, and when she caught sight of Su Jingjing entering the room, she jumped around even more excitedly, like a little monkey.

She jumped around happily, waving and calling out, "Mommy, Mommy!" Her voice was clear and melodious, and she was clearly very happy.

Su Jingjing smiled and put down the towel in her hand, then walked quickly to the bed, her eyes full of love and tenderness for her daughter.

She replied softly, "Okay, baby, Mommy's coming to be with you now."

Before she could finish speaking, the little guy had already eagerly jumped into Su Jingjing's arms, wriggling around in her embrace like a mischievous little earthworm.

Su Jingjing hugged Yuanyuan's petite body tightly, feeling the warmth and intimacy.

At this moment, Su Jingjing noticed An'an standing to the side, his eyes filled with longing. Although he wasn't as lively and active as his younger sister, he also yearned for his mother's love.

So Su Jingjing gently called out, "An'an, come here and let Mommy hug you."

Upon hearing his mother's call, An'an's eyes lit up instantly. He carefully moved closer to Su Jingjing, and when he reached her, he softly called out, "Mom." The whisper was gentle, but full of affection.

Su Jingjing held the two children in her arms, her heart overflowing with endless happiness and contentment, as if she possessed the whole world.

She lowered her head and asked softly, "Babies, do you want to hear Mommy tell a story?"

Yuan Yuan blinked her bright, lively eyes, nodded vigorously, and murmured to herself, "I want to hear, I want to hear." Her little face was slightly flushed with excitement, making her extremely cute.

She crouched down and went to the bedside table, handing the storybook to Su Jingjing.

The little hands rummaged around haphazardly, "Mommy, I want to hear the story of Snow White."

Su Jingjing took the storybook and softly replied, "Okay."

A soft rustling sound accompanied the turning of the pages, and her voice became melodious, as pleasant as a nightingale's song.

An'an and Yuanyuan lay on either side of her, listening intently, their expressions so content.

Li Hanting gently pushed the door open and entered, where he was greeted by a harmonious scene. He stood at the door for a while and listened, not wanting to interrupt the moment.

Finally, Su Jingjing noticed him, raised her eyebrows and chuckled, "A-Ting, are you done with your work?"

"Just finished." Li Hanting showed no embarrassment at being caught, and went straight to his little corner.

I tentatively asked, "Are the children sleeping with us tonight?"

"Yes." Su Jingjing didn't pay much attention to the man's emotions.

Li Hanting frowned deeply, as if he could crush a fly.

Watching the mother and her two children chatting and laughing, he sighed, and in a fit of pique, pulled the covers over himself and lay down on the other side.

Hearing his wife's sweet voice, he felt even more uneasy.

Just after nine o'clock, Su Jingjing closed her storybook.

"Babies, it's time for us to go to sleep."

An'an and Yuanyuan obediently replied, "Okay."

The two lay down and covered themselves with blankets.

Su Jingjing turned her head to look at Li Hanting lying on the other side. He had his hand on his forehead, his eyes were closed, and she could faintly hear his even breathing. He seemed to be asleep.

A question suddenly arose in my mind: Why is he going to bed so early tonight?

She whispered a reminder, "Babies, Daddy's asleep, let's keep it down."

An An and Yuan Yuan turned their gaze to Li Hanting, immediately covered their mouths, and gently nodded their little heads.

Su Jingjing turned off the bedside lamp and lay down between the two children, but her gaze kept drifting towards Li Hanting.

Recalling what the man had just said, she suddenly realized that he seemed angry.

That makes sense. He goes out to work during the day, and when he finally has some free time in the evening, she is occupied by the children. Su Jingjing feels sorry for the two children and seems to have ignored his feelings.

With a feeling of guilt, I slowly closed my eyes.

She will definitely comfort him properly tomorrow.

Just then, Li Hanting suddenly opened his eyes, his gaze clear and lucid, indicating he hadn't been asleep at all.

He turned his head to look at her gentle sleeping face, feeling both angry and loving.

When Su Jingjing woke up the next day, Li Hanting was no longer in bed. After covering the children with blankets, she quietly got out of bed, put on her shoes, and went outside.

After washing up in ten minutes, she casually picked up a hair tie and tied her hair up before going into the kitchen to prepare breakfast for the children.

Ah Ting was busy with work the past two days and didn't come home for breakfast. I don't know if he'll be back today.

No matter what, she would prepare his share.

Next, she focused on preparing breakfast, even frying heart-shaped eggs to make sandwiches—convenient and delicious.

I also made some scallion oil noodles and two cups of malted milk powder for the kids.

A simple breakfast was all set up.

She took off her apron and went inside to wake the children, but they were nowhere to be seen on the bed. Just then, she heard the sound of washing coming from the bathroom, and she instinctively looked over.

An'an awkwardly took the towel and carefully wiped her round little face.

The little one obediently tilted its head back, blinking its big, round eyes, its little mouth slightly open, looking adorable and charming.

Just then, An An inadvertently caught a glimpse of Su Jingjing standing not far behind her in the mirror.

He paused for a moment, then quickly turned around and exclaimed with delight, "Mom!" His voice revealed an undisguised excitement and anticipation.

Yuanyuan turned her head and grinned, "Mommy."

Upon being discovered, Su Jingjing stepped forward and gently asked, "My darlings are great, are you all done washing?"

"Mmm-hmm." The two children nodded vigorously.

"Mom made sandwiches today, let's go eat them together."

She led one child to the living room, holding one in each hand.

Seeing the several layers of bread in front of her, Yuanyuan couldn't help but ask curiously, "Mommy, what is this?"

"This is a sandwich, with vegetables and an egg inside."

Su Jingjing picked up Yuanyuan and sat her on a chair, moving the chair closer. As for An'an, he insisted on sitting down himself.

"Here, have one for each of you, brother, and eat slowly."

Yuan Yuan took a big bite and was instantly satisfied. Her two little feet under the table jumped around happily.

"It's so delicious, Mom, you should eat some too."

As they spoke, they held the sandwich to Su Jingjing's mouth, and An'an did the same.

Unable to refuse her kind offer, Su Jingjing took a small bite from each of the two sandwiches.

"Alright, you can eat now."

Yuanyuan took a sip of malted milk powder, then a bite of a sandwich, feeling as happy as a fairy.

She looked at the empty seat opposite her and asked in confusion, "Mom, isn't Dad coming back for breakfast again?"

Su Jingjing was a little helpless. "Baby, you've almost finished eating before you remembered your dad."
