Chapter 444 University Life (1)

On a sunny afternoon, a gentle breeze rustled the leaves.

Su Jingjing happily took An'an and Yuanyuan to school. It had been two whole months since she last picked them up, so the children were very excited this time, their faces beaming with bright smiles.

For Su Jingjing, accompanying her child's growth is one of the things she cherishes most.

Whenever she has free time, she spends time with the children, sharing their joys and sorrows. Watching them grow up and become more sensible fills her with a sense of accomplishment and happiness.

Along the way, An'an and Yuanyuan chattered away like two happy little birds.

They recounted their experiences at school and stories of friendship with their friends.

Su Jingjing listened patiently, occasionally interjecting a few words.

The mother and her two children chatted all the way to the school gate. An'an and Yuanyuan said goodbye to Su Jingjing with reluctance and told her to come pick them up from school early.

Su Jingjing smiled and agreed, and only turned to leave after watching the children walk into the school.

On the way back, Su Jingjing looked at the lush greenery around her and felt very comfortable.

As soon as he got home, Huang Qiurong came to his door.

"Jingjing, my Miaomiao's English is really bad. Do you think you could spare some time this weekend to tutor her?"

She felt a little embarrassed as soon as she said it.

Su Jingjing nodded in agreement.

"Sister-in-law Qiu Rong, would weekend mornings be okay?"

"Yes, yes."

Huang Qiurong nodded repeatedly, "Jingjing, thank you so much."

"You go ahead with your work, I won't bother you anymore."

Su Jingjing saw her to the door and closed it only when she could no longer see her.

For the next two days of the weekend, Su Jingjing devoted herself to teaching Miaomiao.

Wang Miao is a quick learner; he grasps many concepts with just a little guidance.

Two weeks later, the admission notice from Beijing University arrived.

Su Jingjing looked at the thin piece of paper, and boundless hope welled up in her heart.

“My dear daughter, I’m so worried about you going to study so far away! Why don’t I come and stay with you so I can take care of you?” Yan Ling said with a heavy heart.

After the initial joy subsided, Yan Ling couldn't help but start worrying about her daughter again.

After all, Su Jingjing had never left Huaicheng since she was a child. Moreover, Beijing is such a big city, and she was unfamiliar with the place. What if she encountered any trouble?

Hearing her mother's words, Su Jingjing carefully put away the admission notice she had just received, then took her mother's hand and gently comforted her, "Mom, don't worry! I'm all grown up now, I can take care of myself. Besides, there are teachers and classmates at school who can help each other out."

"Please take good care of yourselves at home, Dad! I'll definitely come back to visit you often when I have time off or when I have free time." Su Jingjing smiled gently, trying to reassure her mother.

A mother worries when her child is doing well; it's inevitable that mothers will have more to think about.

"Take good care of yourself over there. Mom will send you whatever you want to eat."

"Also, call me back often when you have time."

My daughter just installed a telephone at home a while ago.

She was initially reluctant to spend the money on phone calls, but she was more than happy to talk to her daughter.

Yan Ling thought for a moment, "Forget it, let's not play anymore. Let's focus on our studies."

Su Jingjing was both amused and exasperated by her mother's words.

Su Xiang couldn't stand it anymore and interrupted, "Old woman, that's enough, our daughter is all grown up now, she can take care of herself."

Yan Ling rolled her eyes at him, "You men are so carefree. I feel sorry for my daughter."

"No, honey, that's not what I meant," Su Xiang quickly denied.

He was heartbroken, but he didn't want his daughter to feel burdened.

Su Jingjing held the two elders' hands, "Dad, don't worry, I understand what you mean."

Yuanyuan came running over, panting, "Grandpa, there's a hole!"

Su Xiang knitted a net for her to catch dragonflies a couple of days ago, and An'an and Yuanyuan are having a great time playing with it, while Xiao Guodong, with his short legs, follows behind, tumbling around aimlessly.

She gets even more excited than An'an and Yuan Yuan when she sees a dragonfly.

Little Guodong is now learning to speak, his little mouth chattering away non-stop.

Su Xiang checked the net bag and looked at Yuan Yuan affectionately, saying, "There's a small hole in it. Grandpa will take it to mend it now."

The three children surrounded him, and although they were anxious, they did not urge him.

A few minutes later, Su Xiang handed it to Yuan Yuan.

"Alright, take it and go catch dragonflies."

"Thank you, Grandpa. You're so kind."

Yuanyuan said in her childish voice, and then ran out of the yard. Her chubby little body looked like a little panda.

Little Guodong's eyes darted around as he followed his older sister.

His short legs wobbled, making him look like he was about to fall.

An'an, on the other hand, was much more composed, taking care of Xiao Guodong the whole time, afraid that he might fall.

Yan Ling watched her three grandsons playing around, and although she kept calling them "little rascals," she felt incredibly happy inside.

Time flies, and two short months have passed in the blink of an eye. Su Jingjing is about to go to Beijing to study.

Looking at the two large bags of luggage piled up like a mountain in front of her, she felt a headache coming on.

"Mom, aren't these things too much?" she asked with a helpless expression.

"Not much, not much. You can just mail it over when you get there," Chen Shufang waved her hand dismissively.

At this moment, the round little figure rushed over, hugged Su Jingjing's leg tightly, and shook her incessantly, her tender little face filled with reluctance and grievance.
