As soon as Yuanyuan got home, she skipped and hopped to take Chen Shufang's arm.
"Grandma, are Mom and Dad coming back?"
Chen Shufang looked at her adorable granddaughter with eyes full of affection and gently patted her little hand.
Of the three children, she favored Yuanyuan, the mischievous little girl, the most.
"Yes, around twelve o'clock."
"How was it, honey? Did you have fun at Xiaolin's house?" Chen Shufang asked softly.
With a bright smile on her face, Yuanyuan replied cheerfully, "I'm so happy, Grandma! But I'll be even happier when Mom and Dad come back."
Hearing this, Chen Shufang couldn't help but laugh and scold, "What a little rascal!"
Then, she reached out and tapped her round little forehead to show affection and fondness.
"Grandma made milk taro balls, go and eat them."
"Okay."
Yuanyuan ran briskly to the kitchen; Grandma's milk taro balls were delicious.
"Mom, what delicious food did you cook? I want some too."
Before she was seen, her voice was heard. Li Yuehuan skipped and hopped in, carrying a small bag on her back.
Chen Shufang looked at her in surprise, "Why are you back? Weren't you in school?"
Two years ago, Li Yuehuan was admitted to Huaicheng Normal College and studied locally, returning home almost every week.
Apart from Su Jingjing, everyone in the Li family was shocked at the time, since Huanhuan's grades were so good that she would have a hard time even getting into a vocational school.
"Isn't it because my second brother and sister-in-law are back? I didn't have class this afternoon, so I rushed back."
Li Yuehuan had taro balls in her mouth, and her voice was intermittent.
"Auntie, here's some more taro balls for you."
Yuanyuan knew that Li Yuehuan liked taro balls, so she scooped some out of her bowl for her.
"Thank you, my little darling, Auntie loves you."
Li Yuehuan pouted and immediately kissed Yuanyuan on the cheek; the relationship between the aunt and niece was as close as sisters.
It was exactly twelve o'clock. Chen Shufang anxiously looked towards the door repeatedly and murmured, "It's twelve o'clock, why is there still no sign of them?"
Sitting on the sofa, Li Yuan held the adorable little sun in his arms, his loving gaze falling on Yuan Yuan, who was sitting upright, as he inquired about her studies.
Li Yuan might have high expectations for An An and Xiao Tai Yang, but when it comes to Yuan Yuan, he only hopes that she can be happy and carefree every day.
Seeing his wife so anxious, Li Yuan quickly comforted her, "Don't worry, maybe there's a traffic jam on the way. Just wait a little longer."
"Yes, Mom, drink some water to soothe your throat, don't get too anxious or upset." Ouyang Qian picked up a glass of warm water from the table, poured it, and handed it to Chen Shufang.
Chen Shufang took the water glass, took a few sips, and then sat down again to continue waiting.
A few minutes later, Li Hanting drove back to the old house.
Hearing the commotion in the yard, Chen Shufang excitedly stood up, "You're back."
Everyone followed behind and walked out together.
As soon as Su Jingjing got out of the car, she saw her family members gathered at the door to welcome them home. A happy smile spread across her face, and she greeted everyone one by one.
"Mom and Dad, you're finally back!"
Just then, a lively and adorable little girl with a ponytail came running over and hugged Su Jingjing tightly around the waist, clinging to her like a koala and refusing to let go.
Su Jingjing put her arm around her daughter and turned her gaze to An'an, who looked remarkably like Li Hanting. She felt a mix of emotions.
"Good children, Mom will never be separated from you again."
In any case, in the past four years, I have missed too many precious moments with my children.
Without her family's support, her four years of studies would not have gone so smoothly.
"Auntie, don't forget about me!" Suddenly, a clear and innocent voice rang in my ears.
It turned out that Xiao Chengjin was tugging at Su Jingjing's sleeve, blinking his big, watery eyes, and speaking in a childish voice.
The slightly melancholic atmosphere was instantly broken by this chubby little cutie, and everyone present couldn't help but burst into laughter.
Yuanyuan quickly released her hands from her mother's waist, amused by the innocent little sun.
Su Jingjing picked up Xiao Taiyang and gently pinched his chubby cheeks. "It's been a month since I last saw you, Xiao Taiyang has gotten even fatter. Auntie can hardly carry you anymore."
Xiao Chengjin was a little embarrassed. "Auntie, I accidentally ate too much."
Everyone burst into laughter.
Chen Shufang's smile hadn't faded yet. "Let's go inside and talk."
The Li brothers carried the packages from the trunk into the living room. Inside were gifts that Su Jingjing had bought for her family, as well as some local specialties from Beijing.
Xiao Chengjin played with the toy gun his aunt bought him, making "rat-a-tat-tat" sounds, and even dragged his older brother to play with him.
An An frowned, annoyed. He really didn't want to play such a childish game, but he couldn't resist his little angel's sweet-talking charm.
Today is a day for family reunion, and everyone's face is beaming with smiles.
In the few days since she returned, Su Jingjing has been busy, going back and forth between the old house and the clothing store every day, and also returning to the family compound.
Four years have passed, and the family compound has undergone significant changes in both people and things.
Everyone was very excited to see her and chatted with her about what had happened in the family compound over the past four years.
Two years ago, Yang Wei remarried through an introduction, and soon after they had a son. His new wife is a good person and doesn't mistreat Yang Lulu.
