Chapter 478 Extra Chapter – Li Cheng'an and Lin Xin'ai (7)

"My dear, Li Yuanyuan is looking for you." Huang Zicheng, chewing on a lollipop, hopped in like a little rabbit.

Upon hearing the sound, Lin Xin'ai almost reflexively raised her head and looked towards the door.

Sure enough, Li Yuanyuan was standing gracefully at the door, a gentle smile on her face, waving her hand to signal her to come over.

Lin Xin'ai hurriedly put down her pen and walked quickly towards the door.

Walking up to Li Yuanyuan, she said with a beaming smile, "Yuanyuan, it's been so long!"

Li Yuanyuan beamed with joy, stepped forward and hugged Lin Xin'ai tightly, saying coquettishly, "Sister Xin'ai, I've missed you so much!" Then, she asked expectantly, "Are you free right now? Why don't we find a quiet place to have a good chat?"

Lin Xin'ai readily agreed.

So the two walked hand in hand, smiling broadly.

Arriving under a large banyan tree, Li Yuanyuan couldn't contain her excitement and spoke first: "My dear sister, I never dreamed that you would date my brother! Actually, I really want you to be my sister-in-law."

Upon hearing this, Lin Xin'ai immediately tensed up. She had been worried that Li Yuanyuan was there to cause trouble.

Li Yuanyuan then asked with concern, "Oh, by the way, dear sister, how have you been all these years?"

Lin Xin'ai composed herself and began to recount her experiences over the years to Li Yuanyuan in detail.

After her parents were exonerated, they immediately brought her back to Beijing. The three of them resumed their happy life. But only she knew that she would miss the people and things in the countryside from time to time.

Since their first meeting, Li Yuanyuan has been going to the music department every day. After a few times, she and Huang Zicheng also became good friends, and the three of them often went shopping and studied together.

Seeing the three of them laughing and joking, Yuan Shuijing was so angry she almost bit off her tongue, and Xiao He added fuel to the fire.

"Sister Crystal, Lin Xin'ai really has some tricks up her sleeve. Even Li Yuanyuan is on her side."

Yuan Shuijing glared at her and floated over. What did this idiot mean? Was he saying she was useless?

She had tried her best to please Li Yuanyuan, but that brat, though seemingly approachable, was actually stubborn and not easy to deal with.

Xiaohe realized she had said the wrong thing and immediately shut her mouth.

Yuan Shuijing stood in the corridor, staring intently at the three figures downstairs, her eyes growing increasingly sinister.

Beijing primary school gate

Li Cheng'an arrived at the school gate early. Since his parents were busy with work, he was usually the one responsible for picking up and dropping off Nao Nao at school.

Li Chengjin is twelve years old this year and is in the fifth grade of elementary school.

With his schoolbag on his back, he spotted his older brother in the distance and immediately took off running excitedly towards him.

"Brother, brother, I've missed you so much!" Li Chengjin shouted as he opened his arms, ready to pounce on Li Chengan.

Li Cheng'an reacted quickly, grabbing the strap of his younger brother's backpack to stop him, saying, "Don't lunge at me, be careful not to fall. Tell me, why are you being so sweet-talking today? Did you get into some trouble at school?"

After saying that, the two brothers walked side by side toward home.

Li Chengjin's eyes darted around, a sly smile playing on his lips. "Hehe!" he chuckled mischievously.

"Brother, let me tell you, I failed my English test again. When we get home, you have to keep it a secret from Mom, okay?" Li Chengjin whispered in his brother's ear.

After hearing this, Li Cheng'an shrugged helplessly, a slight smile playing on his lips as he looked at his younger brother and replied, "Sorry, I wouldn't dare lie to Mom."

However, he changed the subject and comforted his younger brother, saying, "But when you go back, apologize to Mom sincerely and say some nice things to coax her. Mom will definitely forgive you."

My mother has never been one to value academic performance. Even when my younger sister's grades were terrible, my mother never scolded her.

"Okay, then I'll try to behave well today." Nao Nao tilted her head back, her face beaming with a smile.

Just then, a loud cry rang in my ears: "Ice popsicles for sale! Cool and sweet ice popsicles!" The voice seemed to have a magical power, making it impossible to resist.

"Brother, I want to eat an ice pop!" Nao Nao grabbed Li Cheng'an's sleeve tightly, pulling him to the stall while pleading, her little mouth agape with longing.

Li Cheng'an calmly lifted his eyelids and casually replied, "Oh, then I'll buy it."

However, the next second, Nao Nao muttered dejectedly, "But... I don't have any money."

It turns out that the little guy's allowance had already been ruthlessly confiscated by his mother.

Seeing his younger brother's pitiful appearance, Li Cheng'an sighed helplessly, then took out a ten-yuan note from his pocket and handed it to him, "Take it."

"Thank you, brother!" After taking the money, Nao Nao excitedly bought two popsicles and handed one to Li Cheng'an, "Brother, this is for you!"

Li Cheng'an took a small bite, his brows furrowing slightly—it's so sweet! But this flavor is probably more popular with girls. I'll buy one for Xin Xin to try sometime when I see her.

A few minutes later, the two brothers returned to Peach Blossom Residence. In the living room, only Li Yuanyuan was lying on the table, seemingly lost in thought.

Hearing the noise at the door, Li Yuanyuan quickly looked up and said, "Brother, Nao Nao, you're back."

Li Cheng'an sank into the sofa and looked around. "Where's Mom?"

"I'm busy working upstairs."
