Chapter 57 Xu Ma's Misunderstanding

Su Jingjing opened her eyes in confusion, and the man's handsome face came into view.

Before she could react, she heard Xu Ma's surprised voice.

"Second Young Master, Second Young Madam, what's going on here...?"

Xu Ma pointed at the two people in front of her, her face full of disbelief. When did the two of them get along so well?

Su Jingjing turned her head to look at Xu Ma, her face showing embarrassment. The next second, she realized that she was lying in a man's arms, hurriedly stood up, and waved to Xu Ma.

“Aunt Xu, don’t misunderstand. I fell down, and he helped me up. It’s that simple.”

Xu Ma blinked. She didn't seem to have mentioned a misunderstanding, so why was the second young mistress in such a hurry to explain?

Li Hanting clenched his fist and pressed it to his lips, his voice hoarse, "Aunt Xu, what brings you up here?"

Xu Ma suddenly realized that she had almost forgotten the important matter. "Oh, it's like this, dinner is about to be served, and Madam asked me to call her."

She tugged at her apron and said, "Then I'll go down first."

Li Hanting glanced back at his wife and said in a deep voice, "Let's go."

Su Jingjing responded and then followed behind the man.

Upon arriving at the dining room, everyone was already seated, seemingly waiting for the two of them.

Yuanyuan had been sitting obediently in her chair waiting for dinner. When she saw her parents, she immediately grinned and waved her little hand, saying, "Mom and Dad, come and sit down."

She slept with her grandma last night and fell asleep very quickly. She slept very comfortably.

The little guy's voice attracted the attention of others, who all turned to look.

Su Jingjing immediately felt embarrassed, but fortunately, a man covered for her.

Li Hanting remained expressionless. "Mom and Dad, I'm sorry, I overslept this morning."

"It's alright, we just sat down, please sit down too."

Li Yuan gave his son a meaningful look; it seemed the two had gotten along quite well last night.

Li Hanting then pulled out a chair for his wife.

Chen Shufang remained silent. Last night, she learned from Yuanyuan that the two had been sleeping in separate rooms, which was not surprising, since Hanting had not been satisfied with the marriage before.

Her son had never been interested in women, but his attitude towards Su Jingjing these past two days made her wonder if he might be serious.

As long as the two of them are doing well, she doesn't want to interfere in their lives.

After the meal, Li Hanting suggested returning to his unit.

Previously, Su Jingjing had caused too much trouble, so she could only meet her secretly. Now that she had such a good opportunity, Chen Shufang was reluctant to let her two children go back so soon.

"Son, how about I take An'an and Yuanyuan back tonight?"

Li Hanting nodded, then asked the two children.

"An'an, Yuanyuan, why don't you stay with Grandma for the day? Dad will come pick you up in the evening, okay?"

Li Cheng'an nodded in agreement, as it was a good opportunity for his grandfather to teach him chess.

"Dad, I agree."

Seeing that her brother had agreed, Li Yuanyuan pinched her cheeks. She didn't want to go back, but she also didn't want to leave her mother.

I'm so conflicted!

Instead of answering her father's question directly, she asked her mother, "Mom, what about you?"

Su Jingjing gently rubbed the little guy's head and said softly, "Mommy has things to do at the family compound. You and your brother stay with Grandma for now, and Mommy will cook you something delicious tonight."

"Okay."

Upon hearing that there was something delicious to eat, Li Yuanyuan immediately beamed with joy, smacking her lips as she eagerly anticipated dinner.

Su Jingjing won over the little guy with just a few words. Everyone present looked at each other, knowing perfectly well that Su Jingjing was irreplaceable in the little guy's heart.

Just as Su Jingjing was about to get into the car, she was stopped by Li's mother.

"etc."

She turned her head in confusion, not understanding why her mother had called her back and then turned into the room.

"Here's a pound of meat, bought today, and these two boxes are milk powder. I'll occasionally make a cup for An'an and Yuanyuan to boost their immunity."

The two grandsons have hardly ever been breastfed and have relied on formula for nutrition. But no matter what, they still look very thin, so Su Jingjing must have been secretly feeding them a lot.

"Also, you need to control yourself."

Su Jingjing reached out and took the milk powder. Hearing Li's mother's nonsensical words, she looked up in surprise, not understanding what she meant.

The next second, realizing the original owner had a criminal record, a hint of embarrassment appeared on her face.

Not long after An'an and Yuanyuan were born, the original owner complained that they were noisy all the time and refused to breastfeed them anymore. Instead, Li's mother carefully cared for them with expensive formula.

An'an was strong and grew up safely, but poor Yuan Yuan was born underweight and later did not receive the original owner's love, so she was constantly sick from childhood to adulthood.

The original owner was quite eccentric; she often stole and ate all the milk powder that Li's mother bought for the two children, causing her weight to skyrocket.

When she came yesterday, An An and Yuan Yuan were sitting in the back seat, but now only Su Jingjing is sitting in the back, which makes her feel a little awkward.

It seemed that after what happened last night, she felt that something had changed, but she couldn't quite put her finger on it.

The man escorted her to the entrance of her family compound, said "I'll be back for dinner tonight," and then drove away.

Su Jingjing was stunned for a moment, until she realized the sunlight was a bit too bright, and then she immediately turned around.

After walking only a few steps, I ran into He Zhaodi, who was carrying a vegetable basket on her elbow.

It seemed to have some mud on it, so it must have come from the vegetable garden.

The vegetables from the vegetable garden were He Zhaodi's three meals a day, and she went there almost every day.

He Zhaodi immediately noticed the meat and milk powder in Su Jingjing's hand and her first thought was that Su Jingjing had gone to the city again.

"Jingjing, did you go to the city?"

That shouldn't be the case. A round trip to and from the city takes at least three hours.

Su Jingjing didn't intend to hide it; she wanted them to know that the Li family acknowledged her as their daughter-in-law.

"No, I went to my mother-in-law's last night."

He Zhaodi immediately felt envious. Only the Li family had such wealth, with meat and milk powder at home.

Her daughter, Xiaoyun, has never drunk formula since she was a baby. Thinking of this, He Zhaodi felt sorry for her daughter.

"By the way, Zhaodi, are you going to the convenience store to buy something later?"

Su Jingjing suddenly remembered to buy a pair of shoes for her two children, so they could wear them to school tomorrow, Monday.

He Zhaodi snapped out of her daze and replied without thinking, "I was also planning to go buy some things. I'll go back first to make breakfast for Xiaoyun. Or I can call you around ten o'clock, okay?"

"Okay, that's fine."

Su Jingjing also wanted to go home and lie down. She suddenly felt sleepy after being swayed all the way.

After they reached an agreement, they each went home.

At this moment, no one noticed Ge Hong, who was standing next to the big tree with a gloomy face.

Seeing that Su Jingjing was not only not in a sorry state, but had also obtained good things from the Li family, Ge Hong immediately felt unhappy and vigorously scratched the bark of the tree to vent her anger.
