Mother Guo was moved when she saw the big bag of clothes.
"Fubao, thank you."
"Grandma Guo is so polite." Tian Chengcheng smiled.
Mother Guo opened the package and found not only old clothes, but also many obviously new clothes and even several pieces of cloth. "This..."
"Grandma Guo, you can go back now." Tian Chengcheng stuffed the clothes back in. "Auntie Wan is the wife of Director Liu from the garment factory. Every year, their company gives out some leftover clothes as a welfare benefit. These are definitely too much for them to wear."
Tian Chengcheng blinked her big eyes, holding the bag tightly and not letting Guo's mother open it.
Guo's mother knew what she was thinking.
"Thank you, Fubao." Mother Guo thanked again.
Their family has been here for ten years. The few sets of clothes they wore when they came here were the ones they wore back then, and the bedding was old ones that the village chief had gathered together out of pity for them. She patched it up and mixed a lot of weeds into it, so that it could barely keep them warm in winter.
Their family really needs these fabrics and clothes.
Tian Chengcheng smiled and said, "You're welcome."
Because he was carrying a large bag and was afraid that others would see it, Tian Hengyuan found a backpack, put the things in it, and sent Guo's mother home.
As a result, after walking a few steps, he met Li Qiuju.
"Hengyuan, what good things have you bought again?" Li Qiuju looked upside down with a pair of triangular eyes, with a forced smile.
It was obvious that he was eyeing the things in the basket.
Tian Hengyuan said directly, "This is Aunt Guo's. Director Liu gave her a little work. Try it first and see how it goes. I need to bring a sample over tomorrow. Can you do it?"
Li Qiuju looked embarrassed and did not dare to offend Guo's mother.
After all, I still have to learn embroidery from others.
But looking at the huge bamboo basket, she was reluctant to give it up. She leaned forward to see what was inside. "Is that so much?"
Tian Hengyuan was a little unhappy.
"Third sister-in-law, being too curious is not a good thing. Just take care of your own family's affairs. No matter how much other people have, it has nothing to do with you."
Li Qiuju became unhappy instantly.
"Tian Hengyuan, how dare you talk to me? I'm your sister-in-law after all, and I'm just asking you a question. Look at you, your nose isn't a nose, and your face isn't a face. You're a college student, but I think you've wasted your time."
Tian Hengyuan was so embarrassed that his face turned red.
He really didn't want to argue with Li Qiuju.
It's hard to explain.
"As my sister-in-law, you should at least behave yourself." Tian Hengyuan huffed, turning to look at Mother Guo, "Aunt, let's go."
Although Guo's mother didn't go out often, she still knew Li Qiuju.
He smiled and said, "Yes, there are a few more. I'll go back and take a look, and then I'll teach you later."
Guo's mother spoke softly and in a neither humble nor arrogant manner, which made it difficult for Li Qiuju to start.
After a moment of stalemate, Li Qiuju rolled her eyes at Tian Hengyuan and left.
Guo's mother then said to Tian Hengyuan, "Talk to her reasonably, don't argue. You can't win an argument with her."
Tian Hengyuan responded and thanked her. Guo's mother asked him some questions about going to college, and Tian Hengyuan answered them one by one. As he spoke, he was shocked.
"Auntie, how do you know so much about the university?"
Guo's mother just smiled and shook her head without saying much.
Tian Hengyuan guessed some of Guo's mother's identity. She was probably a teacher in the past. No wonder she spoke softly and tenderly, but he always felt a sense of respect unconsciously. Even Li Qiuju did not refute her.
After finishing their work, Tian Chengcheng and Tian Hengyuan returned to the old house.
The old lady had already prepared dinner. When she saw the two men come back, she asked about what happened on the loudspeaker.
"Can you make a lot of money from embroidery?" the old lady was very curious.
"I can't make a lot of money, but it's definitely better to support my family than cutting threads without any skills," said Tian Chengcheng.
The old lady nodded. "Yes, it's always good to have a skill. Times have changed for the better. As long as everyone is willing to work hard, they can always make money. Has anyone in the village signed up?"
"Guo Hongchang's mother, Grandma Guo, can embroider, and she said she could teach everyone." Tian Chengcheng said.
When the old lady heard about the Guo family, she couldn't help but sigh, "We are all miserable people. Life is better now, but we are still outsiders. Living in a place like that is really hard. It's cold in the winter and hot in the summer, and there are a lot of mosquitoes."
"They will get better soon." Tian Chengcheng said.
The old lady smiled and said, "If our Fubao said he would get better, then he will definitely get better."
Tian Chengcheng knew that the old lady had misunderstood her, but she didn't explain.
After dinner, Tian Chengcheng took out five pounds of cotton and said, "Grandma, our family doesn't need this cotton for the time being. I'll give it to Grandma Guo first and let them use it first."
"Okay." The old lady had no objection.
The things all belong to Fubao, and she can do whatever she wants with them.
Besides, if she had it, she would give some.
Li Qiuju returned home and poured the cornmeal she had bought with her money into the grain jar. The more she thought about it, the more she felt that there was something wrong with the bamboo basket that Tian Hengyuan had carried in the afternoon.
That feeling makes me feel anxious and frustrated.
It’s like someone else has taken away something from your home.
So, she found Tian Lao San and told him what happened this afternoon, "Hey, do you think Tian Hengyuan sent food to the Guo family without telling us?"
"That's impossible. The grain all comes from the village and we have accounts. It's impossible to falsify it." Tian Laosan said.
Having just settled in for a few days, he didn't want to cause trouble.
"You know shit!" Li Qiuju cursed. "Guo Hongchang is the accountant. All the grain passes through his hands. How can he write whatever he wants? If he's really legitimate, why is he so secretive and afraid to show it to me? There must be something fishy going on. No, I have to go and see."
