Jiang Feng's home.
Sitting in the yard, Song Chi looked at Chu Fei in confusion as he hurried into Jiang Feng's house, blinking blankly.
Chu Fei appeared in broad daylight.
Aren’t Gu Chen’s bodyguards always away during the day?
"Come here, these are all cucumbers grown at home, they are so sweet."
Grandma washed some fresh cucumbers and greeted Song Chi. She carefully wiped the water from the bottom of the dish before placing it on the stone table.
She knew that the white flour buns their family had eaten recently were all given by Song Chi, and she was very grateful.
But there was nothing good to treat Song Chi at home, so they could only give him cucumbers.
Look, she was standing awkwardly looking at Song Chi who was sitting beside the stone table, afraid that Song Chi would look down on the things grown in the countryside.
Song Chi was such a careful person, how could he not know how careful his grandmother was? He picked up the cucumber with well water and took a big bite, smiling, "Very sweet, thank you grandma."
"It's sweet, it's sweet. Eat more. There's more in the backyard. Grandma planted a lot."
Grandma smiled instantly, the wrinkles at the corners of her eyes were deep but kind.
The hunched grandfather standing nearby secretly breathed a sigh of relief and started laughing too. He was a very simple farmer.
Song Chi likes old people very much. His own grandparents are still alive and are very kind to him, so in his eyes, old people are all kind.
"Grandpa and grandma, you should sit down too. Don't stand."
Song Chi stood up and supported his grandparents.
Grandpa and grandma were flattered. No one had ever respected them so much except their family.
"This is for grandpa and grandma."
Song Chi took out six candies from his pocket, which were originally meant for Lu Xiao. Now that he was meeting his grandparents, it would be unreasonable for him not to give them a gift.
"Oh, no, no, we're all old and don't eat candy anymore. Song Zhiqing, just keep it for yourself."
Grandma quickly refused, asking how could she accept such precious candy.
"I still have some, Grandpa and Grandma, you guys can eat it."
Song Chi knew it was useless to say so, so he opened the candy and fed it to the two old people, squinting his eyes and smiling sweetly at them, "Isn't it sweet?"
Grandpa and grandma's nose felt sore and their voices choked. "Sweet, very sweet."
When the villagers saw that they had so many children and couldn't afford to raise them, they started talking about them behind their backs and were unwilling to get close to their family. They didn't know how long they had been getting along with outsiders like this.
They also knew that their family was too poor to raise so many children, but what could they do? Their daughter-in-law had a physique that made it very easy for her to get pregnant, and she was pregnant with twins. They had no money to have an abortion, so they had no choice but to give birth to the babies.
In addition, too many abortions are not good for their daughter-in-law's health, so they would rather tighten their belts than let their daughter-in-law hurt herself.
Jiang Di stood at the door of Jiang Feng's house wiping her tears, taking in all the kindness Song Chi showed her grandparents.
She will follow her sister-in-law and protect her for the rest of her life, and will not let anyone hurt such a good sister-in-law.
"Huh? Didi, why are you out? Didn't you go to see your big brother?"
Song Chi asked about Jiang Di who came back to him and suddenly threw herself into his arms.
Jiang Di nestled into Song Chi's arms, trying hard to hold back her tears. She made her voice sound normal as she answered, "The man said he wanted to clean my brother's body, so he asked me to come out first."
"So that's how it is."
Song Chi looked back and saw Chu Fei carrying water from the kitchen into Jiang Feng's house.
"Sister-in-law left a few candies. I'll give you one."
Song Chi asked Jiang Di to look up, squinted his eyes and smiled as he stuffed the candy into Jiang Di's mouth.
The tears that Jiang Di had suppressed immediately fell out again.
Song Chi was startled. "What's wrong with you? Is it hurting somewhere? Are you injured?"
"No, I'm not hurt. Thank you, sister-in-law."
Thank you for being so kind to my family and to my grandma and grandpa.
"Don't thank me! You've worked hard protecting me, too."
Song Chi coaxed Jiang Di and gently wiped away the tears from her face.
Jiang Di shook her head and nestled back into Song Chi's arms. Since Song Chi came, their family's life has been getting better and better, and she was very grateful to Song Chi.
"How can you hug Song Zhiqing when your clothes are dirty, kid?"
Grandma, with red eyes, patted Jiang Di on the back.
Song Chi's clothes were so white and clean that she was worried that Jiang Di would dirty them.
"It's okay, grandma. Just wash the dirty clothes."
"Then... then grandma will wash it for you."
"No, no, Lu Yanchen will help me wash it." Song Chi immediately refused.
He now understood why Jiang Feng was so sensitive. It was because this family had always lived cautiously that Jiang Feng developed that kind of personality.
He is sick now, probably because of Chu Fei's troubles, but he dare not tell anyone.
At this time, Chu Fei in Jiang Feng's room didn't know what happened outside. He kept frowning while wiping Jiang Feng's body.
It's only been two hours, how come Jiang Feng was so badly injured that he even bleeds?
"Just say it directly if it's your first time! Don't you have a mouth?" Chu Fei scolded while carefully cleaning up Jiang Feng.
After finishing, Chu Fei helped Jiang Feng change into clean clothes and opened the window for ventilation.
When Jiang Feng woke up, it was already dark.
He opened his eyes in confusion. Although his body still hurt, it felt much drier and no longer sticky as it was in the morning.
After getting used to the dimness in the room, Jiang Feng realized that there was a person sitting beside the bed, staring at him intently with his arms folded across his chest.
"You...you are sick! Why don't you say anything?"
Jiang Feng cursed Chu Fei angrily and almost thought he saw a ghost.
"Why didn't you tell me it was your first time?" Chu Fei asked coldly.
Jiang Feng was confused and asked Chu Fei angrily, "You ate it yourself, don't you know?"
