In the Eighth Brigade, no one had the ability to ask Lu Yanchen to help with work, and Song Chi was the first one.
Everyone's eyes turned to Song Chi under the big tree, and they happened to see Song Chi wiping his tears with the back of his hand, his eyes red.

"If it weren't for my sister-in-law, we would have really gone in last night."
Lu Yanchen continued pulling out the peanuts, "Someone got arrested?"
"The group from the Seventh Brigade next door have been arrested. Five of them were arrested, and three have been released from custody after interrogation. I just heard they arrested two more in the village, and one has a leg injury that can't be treated. He's probably going to be lame."
"Luckily, my sister-in-law felt something was wrong last night and didn't let us go out, otherwise we would have suffered too."

Song Chi followed with a confused look on his face, and when he reached the river he realized that Lu Yanchen had brought him there to wash his hands.
He squatted down and carefully avoided the blisters while washing his palms, frowning and enduring the pain.
While washing his hands, Lu Yanchen looked at Song Chi from time to time, taking in all of Song Chi's expressions.
Jiang Feng didn't want to be a third wheel, so he quickly washed his hands and left.
Back under the big tree, Lu Yanchen gave Song Chi some white flour buns, while he and Lu Xiao ate vegetable steamed buns.
Song Chi sat beside Lu Yanchen and ate the steamed bun obediently, while staring curiously at the steamed bun in Lu Yanchen's hand. It was green and he had no idea what it tasted like.
"Give me a bite."
Song Chichao and Lu Yanchen.
Lu Yanchen glanced at Song Chi and told him, "You're not used to it."
"You didn't even let me taste it, how do you know I can't get used to it?"
Song Chi leaned against Lu Yanchen, raised his head and quickly took a bite of the steamed bread in Lu Yanchen's hand.
Lu Yanchen froze. Song Chi's lips touched his fingers. The soft and warm touch made his fingertips numb.
