Chapter 17 The old woman is poisoned and takes a desperate gamble.

"I'm fine." Lin Jingge, who was sitting on the ground, shook her head. She tried to stand up by supporting herself on the square table behind her, but she overestimated herself and fell back down hard.

The two people present were terrified.

Qian Suisui and Granny Lin each supported one of her hands and helped Lin Jingge to lie down on the bed.

Liu Yan stared intently at Lin Jingge. She had just experienced a life-or-death situation yesterday and was afraid that Lin Jingge would be gone in the blink of an eye.

"Grandma, don't worry." Lin Jingge gave Grandma Lin a pale smile.

"Alright, don't talk, rest first." Granny Lin took Lin Jingge's pulse, her brows furrowed, and put her hand under the blanket.

Clearly, she had also noticed that Lin Jingge's meridians were damaged and the damage had widened, but because there were outsiders present, Granny Lin did not say it directly.

"Miss, all the grapes have been picked." A servant reported from outside the door.

"Take good care of your injuries. You can tell me if you need anything. What I said before is still valid. You can come to the Qian residence to find me when you've thought it through."

After saying that, Qian Suisui didn't linger and led her people away.

As soon as everyone left, Granny Lin sat down on the edge of Lin Jingge's bed: "Jiaojiao, what happened in the main room just now? How did the snake leave?"

“It’s the flower that Widow Liu left behind. That snake came looking for that flower!” After saying that, Lin Jingge coughed heavily a few times.

"What kind of flower is that? How could it attract a second-tier demon beast?"

If the snake hadn't left on its own, none of them present today would have escaped.

Hearing that the trouble was caused by the flowers her mother brought back, Liu Yan, who was standing to the side, felt a wave of guilt.

"You rest well, I'll cook you some porridge to nourish you." The porridge that Granny Lin was talking about was made with the little spirit rice that was left. Most of the spirit rice had been sold to the Qian family, and they only kept a dozen or so catties for themselves.

Although this little bit of spiritual rice couldn't cure Lin Jingge, it was better than nothing.

Only after Granny Lin left did Liu Yan dare to step forward.

"Sister, I'm sorry, I didn't know that flower would attract snakes." Liu Yan's voice was full of regret as she apologized, tears welling up in her eyes.

"Don't cry." Lin Jingge quickly raised her hand to wipe away the tears.

After comforting the child and having a meal with Grandma Lin, Lin Jingge closed her eyes to rest while lying in bed.

The next day, Granny Lin came to Lin Jingge's room early in the morning to take her pulse.

"Jiaojiao, you should recover your meridians as soon as possible." Grandma Lin sat on the edge of the bed and sighed.

Restoring the meridians is no easy task, especially given their family's current situation.

"Grandma, did you not sleep well last night? Why do you look so pale?" While Grandma Lin was taking Lin Jingge's pulse, Lin Jingge's attention was entirely on Grandma Lin.

The other person's face was pale and their lips were bluish.

Reminded like this, Granny Lin was taken aback at first, then checked her pulse. The shock on her face flashed by, but she suppressed it in front of Lin Jingge.

"Grandma, what happened? Are you feeling unwell?"

"No, that's not true. I just didn't sleep well last night," Grandma Lin forced a smile.

This demeanor clearly indicates that he is not telling the truth.

Lin Jingge did not force the other party, but instead had Xiaoshi scan Lin Apocalypse's body in her mind.

Before Xiaoshi could send the data, Grandma Lin made up an excuse and left the room.

"Gege, Grandma's cultivation is higher than yours. I don't have enough energy to recognize her." Xiao Shi's voice rang in Lin Jingge's mind. "However, judging from Grandma Lin's complexion, it doesn't seem like she hasn't rested well, but rather like she's been poisoned!"

Xiao Shi's words stirred up waves of emotions within Lin Jingge: "Poisoned?! How could I be poisoned!"

Xiao Shi remained silent for a moment before tentatively saying, "Perhaps the venom of the monster from yesterday accidentally got on Grandma."

Xiao Shi transformed into a cat, carrying a heavenly book on its head, and came to Lin Jingge: "Gege, look, this is the information about the monster from yesterday."

The withered vine snake is best at hiding and ambushing enemies. This snake has a unique characteristic that no other monster has: each of them has a companion flower.

Pictures of companion flowers can also be found in the Heavenly Book.

Lin Jin looked at the lifelike companion flower drawn on the Heavenly Book, and the appearance of this flower overlapped with that of the big red flower.

In an instant, everything made sense.

This symbiotic flower not only has the effect of relieving snake venom, but also clearing away heat toxins.

For some mutated fire-elemental cultivators, this flower can be considered a spiritual plant that soothes their overactive fire spiritual power.

“Gege, the Heavenly Book says that although the venom of the withered vine snake takes effect very slowly, in a few more days, Grandma might…” Xiaoshi didn’t finish his sentence, but Lin Jingge could guess what he meant.

She gripped the blanket tightly with both hands, her mind racing with panic.

"How can I save Grandma in my condition?" she murmured, her eyes blank.

Grandma Lin was the first and only person who treated her so well without asking for anything in return after she came to this other world. She hadn't had a chance to repay Grandma Lin or let her enjoy a good life.

She loosened her hands, spread them out in front of her eyes, and sighed as she looked at her fair hands: "I am still too weak. I can't even protect the people I want to protect."

A single tear rolled down her cheek, and a deep sorrow filled her heart.

"Don't cry, Gege. Maybe there are other ways?"

"Yes! At worst, we'll find that snake and die together!" Lin Jingge said resentfully, "Xiao Shi, can we take the energy gun out of our spatial storage?"

Since Xiaoshi awakened last time and absorbed all the space's energy, the space has been shrouded in a gray haze. She tried to retrieve the excavating robot, but found that she couldn't get it out at all, and couldn't even see where the robot was placed in the space.
