Chapter 19 The Beautiful and Kind-hearted Miss Qian

Unexpectedly, Lin Jingge would ask such a question. Qian Zhong raised his eyebrows and said, "Young man, don't underestimate yourself."

Qian Zhong's words were not sharp at all, but Lin Jingge still understood the deeper meaning in them.

Lin Jingge remained silent for a long time, her head lowered and her eyebrows furrowed as if she were thinking.

Although Master Qian appeared gentle and kind in front of her, how could someone who sits in the position of the Qian clan leader be harmless?

Seeing that Lin Jingge did not respond, Qian Zhong did not press her. Instead, he said, "As long as you join my Qian family, you don't have to pay back these fifty spirit stones. Think it over carefully."

These words startled Lin Jingge.

That's quite a generous gesture!

After today, Lin Jingge realized just how valuable a spirit stone really is. Is it worth it for a cultivator who hasn't even reached the first level of spirit cultivation?

After thinking for a long time, Lin Jingge still couldn't come up with a solution.

However, a small thundercloud not far away began to stir.

The tribulation for advancing to the Spirit Master level was not strong; the thunderclouds symbolically sent down a few small bolts of lightning and then stopped.

When Qian Guo arrived, Qian Suisui's elder brother had already finished his tribulation.

"Brother, you're so lucky!" Qian Guo said, his words dripping with sarcasm, as if he had eaten several lemons.

Qian Zhongzheng was in high spirits and didn't care about his second brother's sarcastic remarks, so he happily accepted the other party's 'blessing'.

"I'm going to greet my son. Would you like to come along, Second Brother?" Qian Zhong invited Qian Guo.

Qian Guo snorted coldly: "No need. I just remembered I have some unfinished business at home, so I'll take my leave now. Farewell!"

After saying that, he flicked his wide sleeves and turned to leave.

Qian Zhong and Qian Suisui stood at the gate of the courtyard, quietly waiting for the people inside to come out.

After being in seclusion for a long time, Qian Duoduo came out of the courtyard and saw her younger sister and father waiting for her at the door.

"Big brother, congratulations!" Qian Suisui rushed up immediately to offer her her blessings.

"Sis, do you have any more grapes? Give me some more." Qian Duoduo whispered in her sister's ear.

Although his voice was soft, Qian Zhong was two levels above him, so this whispered remark naturally reached his ears.

He raised an eyebrow and whispered to Qian Duoduo, "Bring Sui Sui to my study."

Upon hearing the sound, Qian Duoduo looked up and only saw Qian Zhong's departing figure. She then hurriedly took Qian Suisui to the study.

Inside the study, Lin Jingge stood to one side.

“Mr. Qian.” Lin Jingge stepped forward and returned the contract to Qian Zhong. “I have read the contract. I appreciate your kindness, but I really don’t want to be bound by anyone. I can only apologize.”

She presented the contract with both hands.

Qian Zhong did not accept the contract, but stood still and looked at Lin Jingge: "Is there anything you are dissatisfied with? We can discuss this further."

Lin Jingge didn't expect the other party to be so easy to talk to, but the easier the other party was to talk to, the more uneasy Lin Jingge felt.

She pondered for a long time with surprise and doubt, but still couldn't figure out why Master Qian would do such a thing. Apart from providing the Qian family with spiritual plants a few times, she hadn't done anything else.

Lin Jingge really couldn't think of anything that could be gained from her.

The price is far too high for a low-level spiritualist who can cultivate spiritual plants.

"No need. I prefer freedom and really don't want to join a family." Lin Jingge didn't show it on her face. Seeing that Master Qian wouldn't accept the contract, she could only step forward and place the contract on the desk.

"I have some things to attend to at home, so I'll be leaving now."

After saying that, he turned to leave, but unexpectedly ran into the brother and sister entering the study.

"What's wrong? Are you leaving?" Qian Suisui looked around the room, and finally her gaze fell on the contract. She immediately understood.

"You still don't want to join my Qian family?" Qian Suisui was a little disappointed. "You can make any requests to my father. If you join the Qian family, you can cultivate with me in the future. Isn't that good?"

Lin Jingge looked at Qian Suisui, who was looking at her expectantly, took a deep breath and said, "I can't cultivate. My meridians are damaged and can't be repaired."

"Damaged meridians?!" Qian Suisui exclaimed in surprise. She looked at Lin Jingge and then turned to look at her father.

Sure enough, upon hearing the words "damaged meridians," Qian Suisui's father's gaze towards Lin Jingge changed slightly, no longer as ardent as before.

The study suddenly fell silent; no one spoke.

Lin Jingge broke the awkward atmosphere: "I've troubled you greatly today, I'll take my leave..."

After saying that, she strode away.

Before they even left the Qian residence, Qian Suisui caught up with them.

"Lin Jingge, wait for me!" Qian Suisui ran over, panting.

"What?" Lin Jingge turned her head at the sound of her voice.

Qian Suisui handed over a square wooden box: "These are the spirit stones I've saved up over the years, I'm lending them all to you."

As she stuffed the spirit stones into Lin Jingge's arms, she said, "Although I don't know what you need the spirit stones for, I have a feeling that this matter is very important to you. Please take them, otherwise I won't be willing to lend them to you."

Now it was Lin Jingge's turn to be surprised. She hadn't expected that even after all this, Qian Suisui would still be willing to lend her spirit stones.

She suddenly felt her throat go dry. After thinking for a moment, she opened her mouth, but could only manage to say "thank you."

"There are only thirty yuan here. You'll have to find the other twenty yourself. My father won't give it to me."

Qian Suisui felt unbearably sad when she thought about what her father had said.

What does it mean that Lin Jingge's meridians are damaged, she can no longer cultivate, and she is worthless, so she should no longer have any contact with the other party?

She disliked her father's words, so she went her own way and secretly took the spirit stones to pursue Lin Jingge.
